Will 'The Apprentice' Be a Black and White Issue? Business mogul Donald Trump says 'he wasn't particularly happy' with the most recent season of his hit reality show, (featuring 'book smarts' vs. street smarts') and is considering controversial changes bound to generate buzz for upcoming episodes.Among the proposals: piting a team of African-American contestants against a team of all white players.'Whether people like that or not, it would be somewhat reflective of our world,' according to Trump. 'But needless to say, not everyone thinks it is a good idea.'Trump wasn't available for further comment, but a representative told the Scoop...

OK, OK, I'm not a big telly watcher, certainly not of ''reality'' programmes, and I've only seen ''The Apprentice'' a couple of times, but is this master chef a thoroughgoing asshole AND a poor businessman to boot? Given a brand new staff, some of whom are known to be amateurs in the kitchen, just 90 minutes to become harmonised with the restaurant procedures and the menu? I'm just a jackleg cook, no intent of becoming a professional line chef, and I would have told this master chef genius to bugger off in 90 seconds' time, perhaps less. Views, opinions, thoughts...

TAMPA, Fla. - Real estate millionaire Chris Shelton, a contestant on NBC's "The Apprentice," was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge. Shelton, 22, one of six remaining contestants competing for a job with Donald Trump, was taken into custody early Sunday at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. He was released after posting $250 bail. A tribal police officer said he heard a noisy Shelton in the hotel lobby and asked him twice to calm down before arresting him, said Seminole police spokesman Gary Bitner. "He was loud and he just wouldn't calm down," Bitner said. Shelton was peeved...

Domestic Hypocrisy: Martha Stewart’s “Apprentice” Lie March 16, 2005 By Debbie Schlussel Amidst the Second Coming of Martha Stewart, the Domestic Diva told another big lie. But not a single member of the pandering media has taken note. Remember the empathetic Martha’s exhortations from prison about poor treatment of convicts when they’re released from prison? Stewart decried the lack of employment for convicts. No-one will hire them, she complained. No-one, including Martha. Even before she was released from Camp Cupcake in Alderson, West Virginia, Stewart’s production partner, reality TV king Mark Burnett, was holding auditions for Martha’s version of “The...

Disabled Attorney Says 'Apprentice' Biased The Associated Press By JIM SUHR Feb. 9, 2005 | ST. LOUIS | (AP) - A quadriplegic lawyer has sued producers of NBC's "The Apprentice," saying the tryouts for the popular reality show discriminate by requiring that would-be contestants be in excellent physical health. In his federal lawsuit filed here last week, James Schottel Jr. wants a preliminary injunction that would force the show's producers to drop such requirements that exclude him and "others similarly situated" from being considered for the show. The St. Louis attorney, who has applied to try out for the show...

Donald Trump chose conservative entrepreneur Kelly over liberal attorney Jenn in last night's season final episode of The Apprentice... Kelly was the choice of almost every business expert on hand, as person after person praised him for his leadership, drive, and most of all for his results. The sharp tongued Jenn almost pulled the rabbit out of the hat as she attempted to argue her way to the job in the final boardroom exchange. As an attorney she seemed more adept at arguing her case... but in the end couldn't overcome the results that Kelly had shown.

December 8, 2004 -- Donald Trump knows the "Art of the Deal" - and he is proving it by getting this $1.5 million wedding ring for free. He will present it to Melania Knauss at their upcoming nuptials. The Donald has arranged a deal with the tony Graff diamond sellers, in which the company will provide a 13-carat masterpiece ring in return for the November appearance of the jeweler's products on "The Apprentice," a source close to Trump said yesterday. In addition, Trump's sexy model fiance has agreed to pose in ads for the tony, high-end gem seller as part...

There are a lot of important life lessons that can be learned from NBC's 'The Apprentice.'Things like 'passion and desire are key components to sucess' and 'you should never underestimate a competitor' and 'if youre a woman, you can get pretty much get anything you want by acting like a complete whore.' One thing you cannot get by acting like a whore, though, is respect, and Ivana Ma, a 28 year old 'venture capitalist' from Boston found that out the hard way on last night's episode.Dont get me wrong, I was as happy as the next guy to see Jennifer...

Background: In 1931 the Davis-Bacon Act was adopted to create a "prevailing wage," usually the union rate, for any construction contract over $2,000 funded in whole or in part by the federal government. The benefits of the "prevailing wage," however, go to a very few at the expense of taxpayers and the Act is a prime example of unfunded mandates and government waste. Davis-Bacon inflates the cost of federally funded construction projects by as much as 15%, discourages economic growth, and raises federal spending. In fact, Davis-Bacon Act wages cost taxpayers over $1 billion annually, in addition to the $100...

Pamela Day may represent a first for ``Apprentice'' contestants who have been pink-slipped. She's grateful she was fired by Donald Trump. ``I think it was the greatest thing to ever happen,'' she said. ``Because people who were watching the show and saw what I'm all about were so outraged. So I've become this very memorable character, and it's become like me vs. this pack of wild women, and I'm the one woman that America identifies with, and they hate the other ones.'' (For the record, she doesn't - they're all ``good friends'' now). The New Jersey native, who was an...

ALBANY, N.Y. -- "Apprentice" contestant Jennifer Crisafulli was told "you're fired" by Donald Trump this week. Now she reportedly has lost her real job as well. An official with the Manhattan firm where Crisafulli was a real estate agent told the Times-Union of Albany that she would not be welcomed back because of comments she made on Wednesday night's episode of "The Apprentice." Crisafulli -- an Albany native living in Manhattan -- made remarks that were perceived by some as anti-Semitic. She has said she did not mean to offend.

When Donald Trump fired loose-cannon Stacie J on last week's episode of "The Apprentice," he may have violated a federal law that forbids employers from getting rid of employees just because they're "crazy." That's what an employment-discrimination lawyer claimed yesterday — though it is hard to figure out just how serious he is about the charge. Morris Fischer, a Baltimore lawyer who specializes in employee discrimination cases, argues that even though "The Apprentice" is just a TV show, the prize is a real job and therefore the American Disabilities Act should apply....

A confident Bradford on ‘The Apprentice’ relinquished his immunity in the boardroom. The move got him fired. ...[snip] But did The Donald make the right call? “Bradford made an impulsive decision,” Trump explained on “The Apprentice.” “A stupid, impulsive, life-threatening decision that, frankly, if you were running a company and made that kind of a decision, you’d destroy that company instantaneously,” Trump said. “Bradford, you’re fired.” ... Would you have fired him?

In my humble outpost here in the hinterlands of Maine, listening to Imus this morning, "The Don", Donald Trump said; "The war in Iraq is worse than Vietnam." This comment came right after complaining about not being able to buy concrete because a lot is going to Iraq to rebuild thier country. Trump maybe a good businessman, but when it comes to the world outside of his financial empire, he's just an apprentice. Vietnam = 58,177 KIA Iraq = 1,003 KIA And if you cannot make a distinction between the importance of our presence in Iraq and the war on...

A JUDGE in the Miss Universe pageant selected because of his role in Donald Trump's US television reality show The Apprentice has been sacked from the competition panel. Kwame Jackson, a contestant for the reality show's April 15 final prize - a year-long, US$250,000 ($350,000) job with the billionaire developer - was disqualified by pageant organizers for waving at beauty queens he bumped into in their hotel lobby. "Kwame is intelligent, charming and we were really looking forward to him judging on our panel," pageant president Paula Shugart said in a statement. "But his interaction with the delegates, albeit unintentional,...
