North Korea has apparently chosen not to host its annual mass rally marking the end of a formative conflict with South Korea and its top partner the U.S., as President Donald Trump and North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong Un pursue unprecedented diplomatic ties between their nations. Every June 25, North Korea remembers the beginning of the Korean War in 1950, known as the Day of Struggle Against U.S. Imperialism. The event sets off a month of patriotic displays that conclude with the Day of Victory in the Great Fatherland Liberation War, a holiday commemorating the signing of an armistice...

Nikki Haley If you trust the major headlines, the big news out of the United Nations is that the UN General Assembly just voted overwhelmingly to reprimand the U.S. over President Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv. " U.N. Vote Rebukes U.S. for Jerusalem Move," reports the Wall Street Journal. " Defying Trump, U.N. General Assembly Condemns U.S. Decree on Jerusalem," reports the New York Times. As bean-counting goes, that's an accurate depiction of Thursday's UN-as-usual vote, to which these headlines refer. But I'd say...

Sarah Palin and the Tea Party Express have roared right through the latest round of Republican Party primaries this week, rattling the party establishment and terrifying the Democrats. For those of you who are trained in the fastidious ways of the British ‘liberalism’ and are therefore shocked and can’t think why the American Right is gaining such strength, here’s the reason: Barack Obama. Americans are waking up to the fact that they have elected a man as president who is every inch an exotic creature. Which was rather fun at first. The problem is, America is discovering that Mr Obama...

This despicable video needs to be seen by as many people as possible. The basic gist of it is... "Dean Smith, I'm having a problem with one of my students. See... he's a war criminal, oh I mean veteran & he is not unquestionably swallowing our leftist propaganda hook, line & sinker. He's very confrontational & disruptive... he challenges my assertions in front of the other students, asks that I provide objective data to back up my claims, and he actually has the nerve to espouse ideas that run contrary to our ideology. I'm at my wits end & don't...

Excerpt - BELGRADE (Reuters) - Serbia's ultranationalist Radical Party claimed victory in national elections on Sunday, in a voter rejection of Western appeals for closer cooperation on the arrest of war criminals and on Kosovo. A projection of the result showed the opposition Radicals, strongest party in Serbia for years, taking 28 percent of the vote, a point higher than the 2003 national elections. "The Radical Party has won these elections," said Tomislav Nikolic, the Radical's candidate for prime minister in the absence of party leader Vojislav Seselj, who is on trial for war crimes at the U.N. tribunal in...

MONTREAL — China — one of the world's major polluters — urged the U.S. to join the Kyoto treaty Wednesday, rejecting arguments that the pact is flawed because it fails to restrict emissions by developing countries. China's Sun Guoshunis said his country was already cutting the polluting emissions, adding it was unfair to expect China and India — with the world's largest populations — to ask their impoverished people to cut back on energy consumption. "We really feel pity that the U.S. has not yet, and is not going to join the Kyoto Protocol, not only because of the size...

U.S. immigration officials refused Tuesday to allow Robert Fisk, longtime Middle East correspondent for the London newspaper, The Independent, to board a plane from Toronto to Denver. Fisk was on his way to Santa Fe for a sold-out appearance in the Lannan Foundation’s readings-and-conversations series Wednesday night. According to Christie Mazuera Davis, a Lannan program officer, Fisk was told that his papers were not in order. Davis made last-minute arrangements Wednesday for Amy Goodman, host of Pacifica Radio’s daily news show, Democracy Now!, to interview Fisk via satellite from a television station in Toronto. He appeared on a large screen...

PROTESTS designed to disrupt a joint US-Australian military exercise in Queensland were a sign of growing concern among Australians about military build-ups, Greenpeace said today. Ten people were arrested at the Shoalwater Bay military training area near Rockhampton yesterday after allegedly attempting to disrupt a joint United States and Australian military exercise. Six protesters carrying makeshift coffins were arrested after allegedly scaling a fence to conduct a memorial service. Another four were later arrested for blocking access to the military base. Police said the group had been charged with trespassing on commonwealth land. The Talisman Sabre military exercise began at...

Governments around the world betrayed their commitment to human rights in 2004, Amnesty International says. In a 300-page annual report, the group accused the US government of damaging human rights with its attitude to torture and treatment of detainees. This granted "a licence to others to commit abuse with impunity", the human rights advocates said. The report also criticised the world as a whole for failing to act over crises, notably in Sudan's Darfur region. Afghanistan was slipping into a "downward spiral of lawlessness and instability", it added. 'No safer' The report, published on Wednesday, accused governments of adhering stubbornly...

The U.S. Army, busy fighting off insurgents in faraway Baghdad, may be challenged on Canadian soil for the first time on May 2. A hostile collective of community members and students intends to "disrupt" the army's visit to the University of Toronto, after having intercepted a U.S. Army letter sent to university professors. Representatives of the U.S. Army International Technical Center Canada will be at the university Monday to give a presentation, where they will outline opportunities and goals for research collaboration with U of T faculty. Terror-loving Saudi religious scholars have called on Iraqis to support militants waging jihad against the U.S.-led coalition forces, saying fighting the occupation was a duty and a right. In an open letter to the Iraqi people posted on the Internet yesterday, 26 Saudi scholars and religious preachers stressed that armed attacks launched by militant Iraqi groups on U.S. troops and their allies in Iraq were "legitimate" resistance. The scholars -- some of whom have been criticized in the past for their extremist views -- issued a fatwa, or religious edict, prohibiting Iraqis from offering any support for military operations carried...

BEIRUT, Lebanon (AP) -- Prominent Saudi religious scholars urged Iraqis to support militants waging holy war against the U.S.-led coalition forces as American troops prepared Saturday for a major assault on the insurgent hotbed of Fallujah. The 26 Saudi scholars and preachers said in an open letter to the Iraqi people that their appeal was prompted by "the extraordinary situation through which the Iraqis are passing which calls for unity and exchange of views." The letter was posted on the Internet.

By Paul Sperry © 2004 WorldNetDaily.com WASHINGTON -- A top textbook consultant shaping classroom education on Islam in American public schools recently worked for a school funded and controlled by the Saudi government, which propagates a rigidly anti-Western strain of Islam, a WorldNetDaily investigation reveals. The consultant, Susan L. Douglass, has also praised Pakistan's madrassa schools as "proud symbols of learning," even after the U.S. government blamed them for fueling the rise of the Taliban and al-Qaida. Douglass, routinely described as a "scholar" or "historian," has edited manuscripts of world history textbooks used by middle and high school students across...

NEA to target Republicans in 2004 Posted: August 20, 2003 1:00 a.m. Eastern © 2003 WorldNetDaily.com Back in 1984, when I wrote "NEA: Trojan Horse in American Education," my goal was to awaken conservatives and Republicans to the fact that the National Education Association had become a radical, leftist political organization using the Democrat Party to achieve its goals. For years, they had been using their extensive local influence to elect liberals and leftists to school boards, municipal governments, state legislatures, and the U.S. Congress. Back in 1967, five years after the NEA had become a labor union, the NEA's...
