<p>WASHINGTON, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- The largest anti-war rally in the nation's capital since President Bush announced the end of major combat operations in Iraq was greeted by an equally boisterous, if not as large numerically, group of the president's policy supporters.</p>

I returned from Washington, D.C. late Saturday night after a whirlwind trip in which I drove 800 miles within a twenty-four hour period. I joined other patriots in our nation's capitol as it came under renewed assault from the anti-American, communist-backed group known as A.N.S.W.E.R. Now why on earth would I drive so far, leaving the comforts of my home, simply to be verbally assaulted by a group of left-wing wackos? Here's your eyewitness report from today's successful rally/FReep. From the start, my day was interesting. After getting a shower and dressing, I left my house just south of Alexandria and walked to the Metro station. I wasn't even three blocks from my house when I saw an "anti-war" protester ride by on a bike with poster that was an anti-SUV, anti-war rant. He was on the same Metro train car as I was, but I didn't bother. I got off at Federal Center Metro station, and walked a surprising short distance to the rally site. It was already about 10:15....

Washington D.C. - 10/25/03 Counter-protesters were harassed, threatened, and some assaulted by security personnel of the anti-Iraq Occupation rally (International A.N.S.W.E.R.) before police appeared and relocated the counter-protesters in Washington D.C. today. For weeks, the Palestinian solidarity conference planned for Rutgers University caused controversy.
