WASHINGTON -- Protesters began converging on the nation's capital yesterday for what they hope will be the largest antiwar demonstration since the fall of Baghdad.

Organizers expected tens of thousands of people would turn out today in Washington for a march and speeches calling for the removal of US forces from Iraq. Thousands of demonstrators also were expected to flock to San Francisco at the same time for the largest protest there since April, when more than 10,000 people filled the streets.

Vietnam veteran David Cline said he will attend the protest because he sees a lot of "eerie parallels to what we went through 30 years ago." Cline is the national president of the 3,500-member Veterans for Peace.

Yeah, hanging out with a bunch of smelly potheads while listening to communists speeches must bring back memories for you.

Where are these guys from.

The war is over. We are trying to rebuild Iraq.

Do they want to stop the rebuilding?

Are they insane?

Yes, of course they are.

I was there with the DC Chapter FReep and had a question from a camo clad grayhair with a Vietnam flag patch....... he asked why Bush was AWOL from the Vietnam war.

I told him it really didn't matter now because W was Commander in Chief and on the job full time.

Is this the same rally that I saw on c-span this morning? Turnout was great..almost as many people who say "Gigli"..I did see the part where the parents of the military serving in Iraq begged for them to come home and end the war..uh..excuse me..but this is an all voluntary military..they were not drafted or knocked on the head and impressed into service..or did I miss something?
