Perhaps she should have taken a longer break from Twitter. Freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) attacked the Republican Party over a photo of an older male posing with a life size cardboard cut-out of her. Ocasio-Cortez had NO IDEA the man in the photo is fellow Democrat Rep. John Yarmuth of Kentucky. Yarmuth, serving his seventh term, is the Chairman of the House Budget Committee.

Freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is now pushing the idea of automation, and being more excited about the idea of automation taking over American workforce. Fast Company reported that robots have put half a million people out of work in the United States, and researchers estimate that bots could take 800 million jobs by 2030. But New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says that widespread automation is an exciting proposition–as long as some kind of government safety net is in place to equitably help the people who are displaced. Appearing at the SXSW conference Saturday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said people should...

Despite being the object of a huge amount of media attention, few people seem to know that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tried to be an entrepreneur and fell flat on her face. Her media pals certainly have no interest in publicizing the fact the she embraced socialism after she proved to be utterly, embarrassingly  incompetent at  earning her way.  Monica Showalter asked the key question on these pages last summer: “Did Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's socialist fanaticism come from bitter failure in business? Now, thanks to digging by the New York Post, we know that: Brook Avenue Press, a company she founded in...

Mother Jones reporter and MSNBC analyst David Corn showed me a photo of the “obscene” anti-Ocasio-Cortez graffiti he found in an airport bathroom this week and, honestly, it was pretty underwhelming. Corn tweeted about the graffiti to his over-700,000 followers Tuesday but opted not to share the photo, sparking a flurry of responses from skeptical Twitter users who believed Corn was making up the story entirely or had written the graffiti himself. The speculation about the alleged graffiti only intensified after some odd tweets from Phoenix Sky Harbor, the airport where Corn claimed to have found the message. Corn shared...

After more than two dozen moderate Democrats broke from their party's progressive wing and sided with Republicans on a legislative amendment Wednesday, New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez reportedly sounded the alarm in a closed-door meeting Thursday and said those Democrats were "putting themselves on a list." The legislation that prompted the infighting was a bill that would expand federal background checks for gun purchases, the Washington Post reported. But a key provision requiring U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to be notified if illegal immigrants attempt to purchase guns saw 26 moderate Democrats side with Republicans. According to the...

New York Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez portrays herself as "a normal, working person," but one of her positions may have helped 150 people lose their jobs. After enduring mockery for declaring Sunday that a walk in a national park was an example of democratic socialism, Ocasio-Cortez lamented Monday the shutting down of an iconic New York coffee shop that closed mostly due to a higher minimum wage – which Ocasio-Cortez supported. **SNIP** But unlike what Ocasio-Cortez wants you to believe about the closing down, it wasn’t the result of greedy capitalists trying to squeeze the workers, but rather government regulations...

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez falsely says “that upper-middle class does not exist anymore in America†Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently said:“They [national Democrats] were campaigning most when we had more of an American middle class. This upper-middle class is probably more moderate but that upper-middle class does not exist anymore in America.â€The Washington Post responded with the following:“… the upper-middle class has actually grown. In a 2016 paper published by the Urban Institute, Stephen J. Rose documented that the upper-middle class has grown substantially, from 12.9 percent of the population in 1979 to 29.4 percent in 2014.â€The same Washington Post article also included this chart:...

Ocasio-Cortez is a gift to the Republican party. The jokes just write themselves!

In Hawaii at a campaign rally for Kaniela Ing, Alexandria Ocasia-Ortiz addresses a huge, like, campaign throng with her own speech, and stuff. Soaking in the publicity, she, like, finishes her own presentation, takes a bow and then, like (lots of vocal fry, for this part) tooootally just WALKS OFF-STAGE. (eye-roll & hair-twirl) After some prompting about, like, the whole reason for her being there and stuff, she returns to, like, finish more properly and stuff, ya know..? (video at source)

**SNIP** If there were a debate, you could probably count on Shapiro, a prominent Israel defender, to challenge Ocasio-Cortez on her harsh criticism of Israel. She described the day in May when Israeli troops killed more than 60 Palestinians, mostly Hamasniks, attempting to breach the fence with the Gaza Strip as a “massacre.” Ocasio-Cortez did not have to reply: No one expects a candidate to debate non-candidates, and her from-the-left appeal is based much more on getting out the vote than it is on persuading undecided independents or hostile conservatives. But reply she did on Thursday, and in the process...

Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro challenged democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to a debate, offering to donate $10,000 to her campaign if she accepted -- but it triggered a sparring match online. Shapiro initially tweeted a video on Wednesday in which he mocked Democratic National Committee chairperson Tom Perez for calling Ocasio-Cortez, a New York congressional candidate, the “future of the Democratic Party,” before issuing his challenge. “Miss Ocasio-Cortez, I’m really excited that you’ve been elevated to that position and I would love to have a real conversation with you about the issues. You’ve noted that you think Republicans are afraid to...

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says you’ll never need a funeral if we adopt single payer health care At 1:29 in this video, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says: “Why arenÂ’t we incorporating the cost of all the funeral expenses of those who died because they canÂ’t afford access to health care? That is part of the cost of our system.â€https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLQ7JcJEeKsSo here’s my response: Bill Gates can afford all the health care that he wants, but it won’t save him from the expense of having a funeral.

She’s not even in Congress yet, but Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the Democratic Party’s rising star and unapologetic socialist, endorsed a slate of candidates in last night’s primaries. While all eyes were on Ohio’s 12th congressional district, Missouri, Michigan, Kansas, and Washington also had primaries. Ocasio-Cortez endorsed Cori Bush running in Missouri’s first congressional district and Abdul El-Sayed and Fayrouz Saad in Michigan. El-Sayed and Saad were running for governor and Congress respectively; Saad was running in the Mitten State’s 11th congressional district. We’ve got about ONE WEEK LEFT until a whole slew of elections come up across the country. From @KanielaIng & @SaadforCongress...

**SNIP** The Los Angeles Theater Center was decked out Thursday like a trade show for left politics. Booths featuring community organizers, single-payer healthcare enthusiasts, and direct action groups like Occupy ICE handed out literature and chatted up attendees. Off in the corner they were selling Ocasio-Cortez T-shirts, but community groups were far more prominent. Many of these groups met with Ocasio-Cortez that morning at a breakfast organizing meeting. When the program began, Ocasio-Cortez took a seat on stage while presenters spent an hour pitching the crowd of more than 500 on their projects. The Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment...

New York congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, currently one of the leading lights of the Democrats’ left-wing, is on a tour of the West Coast -- but is notably avoiding meeting up with the region’s Hollywood elites. Ocasio-Cortez, who represents the party’s democratic socialist wing, has visited homeless areas on Los Angeles’ Skid Row neighborhood, and has met with liberal activists. But as she has held low-dollar fundraisers, she has not engaged in glitzy events with high-profile Democratic donors and Hollywood celebrities. The move has already raised eyebrows, with The Hollywood Reporter asking: “Is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Too Far Left for Hollywood?”...

**SNIP** In a break with tradition, Ocasio-Cortez, who labels herself a democratic socialist, has no plans to meet with any of the entertainment industry's Democratic political power brokers while she is in town. She will not be having coffee with Carl Reiner. There will be no sitdown with Jeffrey Katzenberg or David Geffen. No $5,000-a-plate dinner at Robert Iger's mansion in Brentwood. "None of our clients are meeting with her," says Marie Lloyd of the political and philanthropic consultancy Gonring, Spahn & Associates, which counts Katzenberg and Steven Spielberg as clients. And none of the other political operatives or members...

Barack Obama has come out of relative political hiding to endorse an array of Democratic candidates in the midterm elections. The former president released the list of 81 candidates on Twitter Wednesday — in elections as large in scale as Governor, as well as smaller races such as State Senate.

RUSH: Folks, I’m profoundly embarrassed. I had a couple of audio sound bites Friday, and I didn’t know I had them. This is very, very embarrassing. I got home after work, and I immediately started… This is Friday. It’s about 4:30, and I started working on today’s show. I ran across a video, and so I copied the link to the video; I sent it to Cookie, and I said, “You gotta get me this.” It’s 2:20 total. Put it in two bites. I need this on Monday.” She writes back — and I could read the tone in her...

The Communist Cinderella Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez found her prince, George Soros, and that is who helped her defeat Rep. Joe Crowley in NY 14. As far-left as Crowley is, and he is, he wasn’t far-left enough or young enough or pretty enough for Soros. They want to put lipstick on the Communist pig. Soros’s people always go for the most Progressive [Communist/Socialist] candidates. Ocasio-Cortez was a Bernie Sanders organizer. She was also backed by the powerful George Soros-funded Media Consortium. The New York Times writes that she was able to defeat her opponent, who greatly outspent her, due to her online...
