The daughter of Sen. John Kerry has been arrested in Hollywood for allegedly driving drunk. Los Angeles police say 36-year-old Alexandra Kerry was stopped by officers on a Hollywood street at about 12:40 a.m. Thursday and tested for driving under the influence. Officer Bruce Borihanh says she was booked at the Hollywood police station and was held for about five hours. She was released at about 5:30 a.m. after posting $5,000 bail. Borihanh didn't immediately have other details. Alexandra Kerry is the eldest daughter of the Massachusetts senator and 2004 Democratic presidential candidate. She has produced documentaries and has had...

'Accidental politician' discusses '04 campaign, film The daughter of Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., feels nostalgic when she thinks about 2004, she said last night in Baker Ballroom. The year had two stories: one of politics, and one of human relations, Alexandra Kerry said. Kerry focused on many aspects of the humanity behind the scenes of the campaign, beginning by reading a passage from the book she is writing about growing up as the daughter of a politician. Her father brought home politics "like the baker brings home the extra bread," she said. Growing up, Kerry vowed she would not continue on...

<p>ALEXANDRA Kerry might not have made the most gracious presidential daughter. She waltzed into the Converse suite at the Motorola lodge and started demanding shoes. "The woman running the suite was helping someone else, but Alexandra didn't care," said our spy. "She just started pointing to all these shoes and saying really loudly, 'A 10! In those, those and those! Didn't you hear me? A 10!' " When the Converse woman told Kerry she didn't have her size, Kerry waggled her finger and sniffed, "I am NOT impressed with what's going on here." The woman sighed, "Well, then, you can leave — I am not impressed with you!"</p>

Alexandra Kerry losing her cool during a pedicure at New Village Nail on Bleecker Street ( in Greenwich Village) when one of her toenails was smudged. She demanded a "do-over" and lost it again when it was the wrong shade of red, snapping, "I'll just do it myself."

As the Kerry campaign disintegrates into oblivion, the finger pointing in the Democratic ranks has already begun. The New York Post's must-read Page Six reports that numbers of notable figures in the 2004 campaign are being roasted by party insiders. These include: # Alexandra Kerry: The paper said John Kerry's daughter "made a splash at the Cannes Film Festival last spring when she appeared on the red carpet in a see-through dress." Campaign "insiders snipe that all she did was rack up major expenses. 'She had an entourage of five people with her everywhere she went.' A hairdresser, makeup artist,...

  • Kerry's Sister: Teenage Alexandra Influenced Gulf War Vote

In a 1996 interview with The Boston Phoenix, Peggy Kerry admitted, "Alexandra's advice during a 1990 Christmas dinner influenced the senator's decision to vote against a Gulf War resolution" - according to a Boston Globe report that same year. The anecdote is reminiscent of President Jimmy Carter's admission during a 1980 debate with then-challenger Ronald Reagan that he consulted his then-13-year-old daughter Amy on nuclear proliferation issues. Carter's admission fueled his reputation for incompetence on foreign policy issues and helped cause his defeat. Alexandra Thorne Kerry was just 16 years old when she persuaded her father to vote against the...

Bostonians' sweeping concerns over gridlock and other Democratic National Convention week headaches have been overblown by a ``mean-spirited'' media, Sen. John Kerry's daughter Alexandra said. ``I think it's sad that that's something that's been perpetuated in the press,'' Kerry's daughter told reporters during a conference call yesterday. ``I think sometimes the press likes to perpetuate controversy. Some of it has been mean-spirited.'' Kerry said she's heard her father talk about the massive road closures and other security woes. Still, the tight-knit clan is looking forward to the July 26-29 Democratic shindig at the FleetCenter. ``I think it is a positive...

Memo to Alexandra Kerry: Next Time Try Underwear! Those Kerry daughters! What will they do next to help their dad’s campaign? Back in March, 27-year-old Vanessa Kerry, weighing in on foreign policy, opined out of nowhere that George W. Bush had orchestrated the ouster of Haitian former president/Marxist dictator Jean-Bertrande Aristide. (Her father loyally backed her up, saying he’d heard the same thing from "a very close friend in Massachusetts who talked directly to people who have made that allegation." Oh really? Only double hearsay, as The Free Republic noted.) Vanessa, by the way, is in charge of the "youthquake"...

THE dishy daughter of US Presidential candidate John Kerry certainly gets our vote. Brunette Alexandra Kerry left movie fans gasping at the Cannes Film Festival in her daring see-through dress. Film director Alexandra, 30, showed at least two reasons why Americans should vote her dad into the White House in November. Democrat Mr Kerry is hoping for a good showing at the polls. His girl is content with just a good showing.
