Free Republic is a family oriented forum, or at least we try to be classier than your normal everyday run of the mill, slap 'em together forum. We have seen a significant increase in the amount of risqué comments and graphics being posted lately. Please tone it back a notch or two. It's no secret. They don't like you and they will ban you whenever they catch you posting to their forums. Who cares? We ban them anytime they register here. It's a fact. <p>I've been talking to some long time Freepers via email for several weeks (one in particular). His concern was over the immigration threads and how they turn out on Free Republic.</p> <p>Many times these threads turn into flame wars. There appears to be a lot of pent up hostility that various factions have developed for each other which ends up coming out, over and over, and the result is that the threads turn into a lot of crap. The moderators get hit with dozens of abuse reports over personal attacks and other silliness. Eventually, it becomes more work than is really worthwhile, and the threads get moved to the backroom so we don't have to deal with it.</p>

<p>Occasionally we have had to point this out to people on threads, but I don't think the word is getting around because it keeps happening.</p> <p>Some Freepers like posting images on Free Republic, which is fine by me. Some are absolutely hilarious.</p>

<p>It’s the start of a New Year, and with that I’d like to give you all my New Year’s Resolutions with respect to Free Republic. Are there any New Year’s Resolutions you’d like to make for the benefit of FR? Some examples that come to mind are, fewer personal attacks. Debate the message, don’t personally attack the poster. Maybe your resolution will be to post fewer vanities, or to post vanities to chat. Another resolution might be to search prior to posting threads. Whatever you might strive to do for Free Republic, let us know. Maybe you’d like to make amends with a certain poster. Give it a shot.</p>

There are way too many non-breaking news stories being placed in breaking news. It's gotten so bad, this is in breaking news. Please, if the story has been posted once in breaking news, it doesn't belong there again unless it's a critical update. Also, don't abuse topics. A story does not need to be posted in every single topic. It does not generate more hits to your thread. Michael Jackson, Kobe Bryant, Scott Peterson, etc, are not breaking news, unless convicted.
