Former Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte has been charged with crimes against humanity by the International Criminal Court (ICC). The 80-year-old is accused of being criminally responsible for dozens of murders that allegedly took place as part of his so-called war on drugs, during which thousands of small-time drug dealers, users and others were killed without trial. The ICC's charge sheet, which includes several redactions, dates from July but was only made public on Monday. ICC deputy prosecutor Mame Mandiaye Niang said Duterte was an "indirect co-perpetrator" in the killings, which the court alleges were carried out by others, including police....

A federal district judge sentenced former state Sen. Leland Yee, a San Francisco Democrat, to five years in prison Wednesday for trading political favors for campaign contributions. He was also fined $20,000. Yee admitted in a plea deal that he was part of a racketeering conspiracy that involved exchanging official acts for money, conspiring to traffic in weapons and money laundering. Specifically, Lee promised an undercover FBI agent favors in return for campaign contributions. During the hourlong proceedings, Yee asked the court for leniency in light of his public humiliation, his wife's severe illness, his admissions of wrongdoing and his...

Since 2016, George Soros’s Open Society Foundations (OSF), now run with his son Alexander, has poured over $80 million into groups tied to terrorism or extremist violence. The evidence is stark: Open Society has sent millions of dollars into U.S.-based organizations that engage in “direct actions” that the FBI defines as domestic terrorism. These groups include the Center for Third World Organizing and its militant partner Ruckus Society, which trained activists in property destruction and sabotage during the 2020 riots, and the Sunrise Movement, which endorsed the Antifa-linked Stop Cop City campaign, in which activists currently face over 40 domestic...

Russia hoax handmaiden Charlie Savage falsely claimed that the annex to the Durham report said something it never actually said.New documents shedding light on the Trump-Russia collusion hoax dropped Thursday, and the corporate media are still running cover for the same chicanery they helped launder back in 2016. Especially dishonest is the spin from Russia hoax handmaiden Charlie Savage of The New York Times, who falsely claimed Thursday night that the previously classified annex to the Durham report said something it never actually said. The 29-page annex is a byproduct of Special Counsel John Durham’s investigation into the decision by Barack...

Senator Grassley's remarks start a bit slowly, but develop impressively as he goes on. If you want to start with "the good part," go to 20:00 on the video. At this point, Sen. Grassley actually accuses "the deep state" of a political hit job against President Trump, back in 2016-2017. He actually uses the expression "deep state" on the floor of the Senate.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A federal officer says a man arrested at a Donald Trump rally in Las Vegas told authorities he tried to grab an officer's gun so he could kill the candidate. It cites a report by Special Agent Swierkowski, whose first name was not included, saying Sandford told officers he drove from California to kill Trump and went to a Las Vegas gun range the day before to learn to shoot.

“I am a Muslim with so many regrets, but I can assure you this attack is not one of them, and Insha’Allah, many more attacks like these against the enemy of Allah and the pigs and monkeys will come.”On Thursday, Federal authorities charged 18-year-old Muslim Omar Alkattoul from Sayreville, New Jersey, with transmitting a “manifesto” in which he wrote about targeting a synagogue and specifically wanted to attack Jews. The wife of the Uzbeki national accused of murdering eight people in Manhattan denied any knowledge of her husband’s carefully planned rampage, according to a report. A person who spoke to Sayfullo Saipov’s 24-year-old wife, Nozima Odilova, on Tuesday evening said she seemed “shocked and horrified and scared and sad” after being grilled by the FBI, a source told the Washington Post. At the time, the feds were at her Paterson, NJ, house, where they encouraged her to cooperate to make sure no one else was harmed. Meanwhile, neighbor Carlos Batista recounted that Saipov had occasionally driven a Home Depot...

...all of the photos I'm [Dan Cadman, the author] seeing of Saipov are copies of the same mugshot [see Comment #1]...What was he arrested for?...if Saipov had been arrested in New York City, the site of the attack and a notorious sanctuary jurisdiction, the city itself would have released him back to the street so that he could go on to commit the attack.

Was his request refused, or would that have been “Islamophobic”?In any case, despite Saipov’s note containing “Islamic religious references,” this is not about Islam. The NYPD assures us that is the case. And they wouldn’t lie to us, now, would they? “New York attack suspect Sayfullo Saipov charged with terrorism,” by Jamiles Lartey and Ed Pilkington, Guardian, November 1, 2017: The suspect in Tuesday’s deadly New York City truck attack appears to have been inspired by violent Isis videos depicting beheadings and shootings, according to prosecutors.Sayfullo Saipov was taken to the New York federal courthouse in a wheelchair, handcuffed and...

In June 2014, a worker at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Tennessee was surprised to find U.S. nuclear secrets inside a trash bag marked for disposal along with standard rubbish. Taking a closer look, the worker found 19 more documents in the bag that were either marked classified or were later determined to contain information that should have been labeled secret. A dozen more bags of trash sat nearby, awaiting transport to an open landfill where Y-12 workers routinely dump garbage with no bearing on national security. When employees of Babcock & Wilcox Technical Services, Y-12, LLC, the contractor...

Nellie Ohr told lawmakers in October that one of Fusion GPS’s sources was a Ukrainian parliamentarian whose government has accused him of illegally meddling in the 2016 U.S. election. Ohr, a former Fusion GPS contractor, testified that Serhiy Leshchenko was a source for the Democrat-funded opposition research firm. Leshchenko was the leading force behind the release of the so-called “black ledger,” which accused Paul Manafort of receiving illicit payments from the Ukrainian government. The ledger led to Manafort’s firing from the Trump campaign, but its validity remains in dispute. A member of the Ukrainian parliament accused in his home country...

he U.S. Navy has released 35 brief reports regarding various incidents involving its ships and facilities and unidentified small uncrewed aircraft systems, or sUASs, across the entire span of the Pacific between 2016 and 2021. Not all of the reports appear to be notable, and some are clearly innocuous, but others absolutely provide additional evidence of concerning trends that The War Zone has been actively reporting on in recent years. Among the newly released reports, for instance, is one that covers a worrying encounter that the Arleigh Burke class destroyer USS Paul Hamilton had with four drones in the Pacific...
