If one does a search for an embassy in Washington, DC for Afghanistan, one will only find the Afghanistan Foundation. With talk that Osama Bin Laden is running the military of Afghanistan, is it wise to give to this foundation. War torn Afghanistan (from the fighting with the former Soviet Union) is in need of assistance. But is this assistance going to leaders who help send terrorists to the United States?

Doris Kearns Goodwin mentioned on the Imus show this morning that FDR called for war bond sales to help finance WWII. I was thinking that this could be a great idea now. Most of the federal budget could stay as is, and the gov't could sell war bonds to finance the War on Terrorists. I, for one, would be happy to buy them, as would millions of citizens.
