Iranian protesters intensified nationwide demonstrations over the past 24 hours, directly appealing to President Donald Trump while chanting anti-regime slogans. Footage published Wednesday showed a protester in Tehran symbolically renaming a street after Trump, while other videos captured handwritten appeals reading, “Don’t let them kill us,” Iran International reported. Holly Dagres, a senior fellow at the Washington Institute, posted the video on X stating, “Since Trump’s comments about the Iran protests, I’ve seen numbers videos of Iranian protesters either thanking him or, in this case, renaming streets after the US president.” The appeals came as demonstrators faced a widening security...

Hotshot lawyer Alan Jackson likely quit Nick Reiner’s murder case because he doesn’t have the money to foot the bill for the pricey attorney, experts told The Post. The 32-year-old son of beloved movie director Rob Reiner was in court in Los Angeles on Wednesday, where Jackson announced he and his firm would be withdrawing as Nick Reiner’s defense lawyer after just three weeks on the case. Jackson — who notably helped Karen Read clinch an acquittal on charges of murdering her cop boyfriend — said he couldn’t disclose why, but experts said it’s most likely a financial decision.

Forgive me, but I've had two recent breaks and left wondering why and how to avoid them in future! I think they want less posts about Rand which is fine. He's only been in the news recently because of disagreement with Trump on a few issues. If you disagree with Trump and are a prominent politician i.e a U.S senator the media take a natural and close interest and yes, I know it's not helpful but that's not my fault. This explains why. Prior to this Rand struggle(d) to get coverage in the last 15 years he is after all...

[Catholic Caucus] Pope at Audience: Second Vatican Council still guiding star of Church’s journeyPope Leo XIV begins a new catechesis series on the Second Vatican Council and its documents, emphasizing that the Council's teaching still serves as the guiding star of the Church’s journey."It is the Magisterium [of the Second Vatican Council] that still constitutes the guiding star of the Church’s journey today."Pope Leo XIV expressed this during his Wednesday General Audience, on January 7, in the Vatican, as he began a new catechesis series, which is dedicated to Vatican Council II and a rereading of its Documents, following the...

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison is facing new scrutiny over a 2021 audio recording of him meeting with members of the Somali community who would soon be convicted of defrauding millions of dollars in taxpayer money. In the recording, now obtained by Fox News, the would-be fraudsters can be heard asking Ellison to help them secure more funding, before the conversation then turns to campaign donations. "The only way that we can protect what we have is by inserting ourselves into the political arena. Putting our votes where it needs to be. But most importantly, putting our dollars in the...

Kyle Rittenhouse - who shot three people during unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin - offered to travel to Minnesota amid unrest after ICE fatally shot a woman. 'After thinking about it, should I travel across the state line to Minnesota?', Rittenhouse asked in a tweet to his 76,000 followers on X. Five years ago, a 17-year-old Rittenhouse decided to travel from his home in Illinois to Kenosha during Black Lives Matter protests that followed the police shooting of Jacob Blake. Rittenhouse was armed with an AR-15-style rifle at a riot in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where he shot three people and killed two....

Crowds gathered again in Minneapolis on Wednesday, Jan. 7, marching through the same streets where some of them were protesting five and a half years ago after George Floyd’s murder. The full force and fury of the federal government landed on Minnesota this week. “You will be held accountable for your crimes,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Jan. 6, as the largest immigration enforcement action in agency history surged into the state. It felt like she was addressing all Minnesotans, not just the handcuffed man she paraded before the cameras. Minnesotans reeled as masked ICE agents descended on the...

Wednesday on CNN’s “The Lead,” Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) said White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller’s comments that Greenland should be a U.S. territory were “unacceptable.” Host Jake Tapper said, “So do you want Stephen Miller to lose his job?’ Tillis said, “Either Stephen Miller needs to get into a lane where he knows what he’s talking about or get out of his job. The reason why I thought it was important for me to make a comment on the floor is I’ve been the Republican leader of the Senate NATO observer Group since 2018. There is no...

Well, that escalated quickly. According to Tim Walz, Minnesota is at war with the federal government. He is calling out the Minnesota National Guard to protect Minnesotans against "rogue federal agents." Uh, wut? Even before the video came out that almost certainly showed that the woman who was unfortunately killed had surged her car and actually struck the federal agent who shot her, Minnesota's politicians ramped up the rhetoric, calling it murder and demanding that the federal government remove its law enforcement agents from the state. From everything I can see, Walz and Frey have been egging on the confrontations...

President Donald Trump on Wednesday called for a staggering 50% increase to the previously proposed military budget to bring the total up to $1.5 trillion. In the Wednesday afternoon Truth Social post, Trump claimed the budget increase was “for the good of our country,” citing “very troubled and dangerous times”: After long and difficult negotiations with Senators, Congressmen, Secretaries, and other Political Representatives, I have determined that, for the Good of our Country, especially in these very troubled and dangerous times, our Military Budget for the year 2027 should not be $1 Trillion Dollars, but rather $1.5 Trillion Dollars. This...

Venture aloud that the new mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani, might just have a touch of the communist about him, and you will run immediately into a wall of indignant pedantry. “He’s not a communist,” his apologists will insist. He’s a “communitarian.” Other preferred substitutions include “collectivist,” “Fabian,” “democratic socialist,” and, in the less intellectually inclined depths of the well, “just, like, someone who cares about other people.” Whatever. A commie by any other name still smells as foul. Besides, far more important than whether Mamdani wishes to be more closely associated with the Judean People’s Front or...

Political strategists say Democrats running in competitive races in this year’s midterm elections for the House and Senate should steer clear of making President Trump the centerpiece of their campaigns. While Trump’s approval ratings are low and Americans have been frustrated by his job performance in the first year of his second term, the strategists say the key to winning is to home in on economic issues — particularly affordability. “The fight to win 2026 will be on the economy and affordability. It’s not going to be on the Epstein files,” said Susan Del Percio, a veteran Republican strategist who...

President Trump’s decisive action against the illegitimate Maduro regime in Venezuela has focused world attention on the Western Hemisphere. This is all to the good, as the Trump administration has made clear the priority Washington attaches to its own neighborhood. The recent National Security Strategy emphasized that after three decades of counterproductive wars in the Middle East and South Asia, this administration would prioritize defense of the American homeland and our own hemisphere. It further established the “Trump Corollary” to the Monroe Doctrine, holding that “extra-hemispheric powers” (think China, Russia, and Iran) would not be permitted to meddle in the...

President Donald Trump on Wednesday signed an executive order suspending U.S. support for 66 organizations, agencies and commissions, including those affiliated with the United Nations, as the country further retreats from global cooperation. The targets are primarily U.N.-related groups that focus on climate, labor and other issues that the Trump administration has criticized for catering to “woke” initiatives. The decision to withdraw comes as ongoing U.S. military efforts and threats have rattled allies and adversaries alike, including the capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and indications of U.S. intention to take over Greenland. On Wednesday morning, the Trump administration seized two Venezuela-linked sanctioned...
