The United States will soon receive 30 to 50 million barrels of sanctioned Venezuelan oil from the South American nation in the near future, U.S. President Donald Trump announced Tuesday.
“I am pleased to announce that the Interim Authorities in Venezuela will be turning over between 30 and 50 MILLION Barrels of High Quality, Sanctioned Oil, to the United States of America,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.
“This Oil will be sold at its Market Price, and that money will be controlled by me, as President of the United States of America, to ensure it is used to benefit the people of Venezuela and the United States!”
He said that he had asked U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright “to execute this plan, immediately.”

Put it in the Strategic Reserve. Maybe it won’t form a big tar ball.
Replenish the strategic reserves. Their crude is terrible, but it’s what our refineries were built for.
In offshore accounts, according to the latest reports. Lots of ways that could go bad, including Trump being setup for corruption claims.
I'm quite sure the citizens of Venezuela want truly free and fair elections ASAP as well and leaders elected that represent them and are free to choose to sell oil any countries they want to.
It's do or die for President Trump at this point. If the Democrats ever regain power, he's going to prison as it is. He might as well just go full Pinochet from here on out.
The U.S. uses, currently, approximately 18M-19M barrels of oil/day.

President Trump will have to pardon everyone in his administration including himself if dems win the presidency.
I don’t have a problem with that today.
Of course, the pardon would just cover federal law; I’m sure democrats would invent some state law he supposedly violated.
I hope he uses the funds to improve living conditions in Venezuela. I don’t know enough to gauge where it should be spent (food, roads, the grid, etc.), but it should impact a large majority of the population directly and quickly.
Definitely one way of looking at it. America is ruled by the independents, not the R's, or the D's, when it comes to elections, and right now the pendulum is swinging back to the left, faster than we previously thought possible. If it is setting up for the end of Trump, let's just hope it's not the end of America, because they say pillaging is the last step before an empire fully collapses.
