In one of his first actions as mayor, Zohran Mamdani relaunched the Office to Protect Tenants and appointed Cea Weaver as its director. Weaver, a fellow member of the Democratic Socialists of America, has claimed homeownership is a “weapon of white supremacy” and clamored to “seize private property!” How Weaver plans to navigate the little problem of constitutionally protected property rights is left unclear. But in the words of the mayor on election night, “there is no problem too large for government to solve, and no concern too small for it to care about.” It’s sad but unsurprising Weaver has...

Hilton said Tuesday it is dissolving its relationship with a Minnesota hotel that sparked backlash from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for denying federal immigration agents from booking accommodations. “The independent hotel owner had assured us that they had fixed this problem and published a message confirming this. A recent video clearly raises concerns that they are not meeting our standards and values,” the company wrote in a statement on the social platform X. “As such, we are taking immediate action to remove this hotel from our systems. Hilton is — and has always been — a welcoming place...

Analyzing data across 35 dating-friendliness indicators, the study identified three top categories that contributed to the final list of best cities for singles, according to WalletHub. “The already difficult process of finding the perfect partner can be made even tougher when cities lack the conditions necessary to make dating successful,” WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo stated. “The best cities for singles have large, gender-balanced single populations, along with a wide variety of indoor and outdoor, daytime and nighttime...

WASHINGTON, Jan 6 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that Republicans must win the 2026 congressional midterm elections - or else he will get impeached by Democrats. "You gotta win the midterms 'cause, if we don't win the midterms, it's just gonna be - I mean, they'll find a reason to impeach me," Trump told Republican lawmakers at a retreat in Washington. "I'll get impeached." Ahead of the November elections, which could stall his agenda and expose him to congressional investigations, Trump teased and prodded allies who narrowly control the U.S. House of Representatives. He told them...

VIDEOHere it is. FIVE YEARS after January 6, 2021. For Liberals a very sad day because it did NOT turn out as they planned. They had hoped that their media aided crafting of the events of J6 would forever discredit President Donald Trump and MAGA. At first they thought their plan worked to the extent that Sleepy Joe early in 2021 gloated that perhaps the GOP wouldn't even exist by the following election. Unfortunately, inconvenient facts about J6 began trickling out from REAL journalists until the flood of suppressed information convinced the public to reject the Democrat J6 fictions by...

Faith leaders gather outside Trump Tower and call on county officials to roll back tax assessments and request lawmakers in Springfield to enact caps on the amount property taxes can be raised year over year. --SNIP-- Residential property tax bills are rising fastest in predominantly Black neighborhoods on the South and West sides because the county’s tax burden is being shifted away from the economic center of the city, according to a Cook County treasurer’s office report last month and a Sun-Times analysis of five years of tax bills. Other neighborhoods, such as Pilsen, have seen similar increases and th

HOUSTON — Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller is warning Texans to stay alert as mysterious seed packages keep showing up in mailboxes across the state. Since February 2025, the Texas Department of Agriculture has collected 1,101 packs of unsolicited seeds from 109 locations across the state. Officials say the packages, often shipped from overseas, may look harmless but pose serious risks to crops and ecosystems. "At a glance, this might seem like a small problem, but this is serious business," Miller said. "The possible introduction of an invasive species to the state via these seeds poses real risks to Texas...

The Viking Ship Museum in Denmark recently announced an unprecedented discovery in the Øresund Strait: the world’s largest and most advanced medieval cargo ship ever found. Hailed as “a milestone in maritime archaeology,” the discovery occurred while divers were investigating the seabed in the Sound, in anticipation of Copenhagen’s new Lynetteholm district, and stumbled upon a record-breaking cog buried beneath centuries of sand and silt. Found approximately 43 feet deep, the precious wreckage escaped destructive forces, resulting in an extraordinary state of preservation that provided archaeologists with a rare, close-up look at never-before-seen details. “It is extraordinary to have so...

The conceptual Bulgarian-born artist Christo died over five years ago. It’s a shame, because the Democratic Party and the American left need him again. Christo, for those of you who aren’t into his “art,” was into wrapping stuff up. Not just like Christmas presents, although his work could be dismissed as such. No, he liked covering up stuff like the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, the Reichstag building in Berlin, and the gates in Central Park, New York. His work, ladies and gentlemen: Christo and his collaborator, Jeanne-Claude, may have been hacks of the highest order, but when it comes...

Explanation: How complex is Jupiter? NASA's Juno mission to Jupiter is finding the Jovian giant to be more complicated than expected. Jupiter's magnetic field has been discovered to be much different from our Earth's simple dipole field, showing several poles embedded in a complicated network more convoluted in the north than the south. Further, Juno's radio measurements show that Jupiter's atmosphere shows structure well below the upper cloud deck -- even hundreds of kilometers deep. Jupiter's newfound complexity is evident also in southern clouds, as shown in the texture and color enhanced featured image taken last month. There, planet-circling zones...
