Hispanic voters — crucial to Trump’s 2024 victory — are abandoning him in significant numbers. Sure, the Hispanic flight from the Trump camp is slower among Cuban Americans and Venezuelan Americans in Florida, but the cracks are already visible. In New Jersey, Trump won 46% of the Latino vote in 2024. But this time, Trump-backed Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli got only 31% of the Hispanic vote in the Nov. 4 election, CNN exit polls show. The Democratic winner, Mikie Sherrill, won by a landslide, thanks in part to the Latino vote. In heavily Hispanic Passaic County, where Trump won...

Looking at getting a tablet with a "paper like" screen for reading ebooks and bible study. I currently use a few apps with saved notes, highlights, etc. on my phone so it will have to be an Android device to carry that over. A color screen is another need but understand the cost going up there. I see many in the 6 to 7 inch size but not sure much better that is than my phone. Appreciate any recommendations gang and many thanks in advance.

The United States is overhauling how it distributes foreign aid to prioritize direct investment in partner nations and eliminate waste by bypassing the “NGO industrial complex,” Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced Thursday. Rubio unveiled the new policy during the signing of a $2.5 billion Health Cooperation Framework with Kenya. The United States will provide up to $1.6 billion over the next five years to support priority health programs, while Kenya will increase domestic health spending by $850 million to foster its long-term health self-reliance. Rubio said the previous system funneled aid through foreign or U.S.-based NGOs that absorbed funding...

Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani offered advice to illegal immigrants on how to evade ICE in a video message Sunday — calling on illegal immigrants to “stand up” to the federal agents and “know your rights.” The democratic socialist positioned himself as the mayor of “more than 3 million immigrants” as he spoke following last weekend’s ICE raid in Chinatown, which was disrupted by protesters. “Last weekend, ICE attempted to raid Canal Street and detain our immigrant neighbors,” Mamdani said in a video posted on X on Sunday. “As mayor, I’ll protect the rights of every single New Yorker. And that includes...

Cooking Robots and the Loss of Human Skill Original Question In view of centuries of history of technological development in which increasing power and convenience of gadgetry have prompted the unintended consequence of the atrophy of first-person practice of human skills with self-reliance, what is the likelihood that the proliferation of cooking robots will result in people forgetting how to cook and feed themselves in the event of a technological contraction? Short Answer The risk is real but uneven. Widespread cooking robots would almost certainly erode everyday cooking skills in some parts of the population, especially among those who fully...

Here is a question you can ask the Google AI: "Can the Associated Press editorialize?"And here is the answer you will get:"No, the Associated Press (AP) strives for factual, nonpartisan reporting and prohibits its journalists from editorializing or expressing personal opinions in their news coverage; their core mission is to provide objective news, but they face scrutiny and debate over potential biases, requiring consumers and member editors to remain vigilant for bias and clearly identify third-party contributions."That's some remarkably unintelligent artificial intelligence.Well, it sure seems like the AP violated its own alleged prohibition of editorializing with their Saturday story about...

Explanation: It is still not known why the Sun's light is missing some colors. Here are all the visible colors of the Sun, produced by passing the Sun's light through a prism-like device. The spectrum was created at the McMath-Pierce Solar Observatory and shows, first off, that although our white-appearing Sun emits light of nearly every color, it appears brightest in yellow-green light. The dark patches in the featured spectrum arise from gas at or above the Sun's surface absorbing sunlight emitted below. Since different types of gas absorb different colors of light, it is possible to determine what gasses...

Donald Trump may walk away from the Ukrainian war, the US president’s oldest son has said in comments to a Middle East conference.
