Put a cap on interest rates that will make some sound. The biggest problem for Republicans are those who wish to hold on to power instead of taking a risk of losing it by passing bold ideas.

Here is another bold idea. Get rid of the filibuster and pass same day voting and retroactive term limits.

Trump will never win reelection now.

Term limits would require an amendment. That’s not happening any time soon. Those people will not vote themselves out of a job.

IF he did, that would be newsworth, eh?

Exactly—during Thanksgiving I visited some relatives who had Trump derangement syndrome.

I just kept saying the magic words “lame duck” and after a while it seemed to sink in....and they calmed down.

Well, he won three terms. Normally, that would be plenty for one mortal. But Brandon usurped one of them.

I would trust that guy at Rasmussen. He called the 2024 election.

“Trump will never win reelection now.”

Just happens that the midterms are not now.

Here’s an idea

Trump should not trust the republicans to try to win the midterms. From McConnell to MTG to Paul to Cruz and back they prefer not only to be in the minority and point the finger at the Dems while investing in multi million strategies and ignorantly obnoxiously giving our country away while not lifting a finger

They hate Trump

Rasmussen has no idea what’s about to happen.

Some things are immutable. But it’s easy for politicians to forget this.

The economy has been pretty much trash since 2015. Or you could say since 2008, or even 9/11. Not much good to brag about in any way on it. 2020-2024 was brutal for sure though. I mean inflation is ‘low’ in most areas now, but that bidenflation ramp up wrecked so many and I don’t see much coming down besides gas (which is good, and will hopefully have some downstream cost reductions eventually).

If this is the poll...

https://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/mood_of_america/generic_congressional_ballot_dec03

...then get this bit...

“...Additional information from this survey and a full demographic breakdown are available to Platinum Members only...”

If I can’t see the methodology, I’m not putting any confidence in the accuracy of the poll.

I don’t care who the polling outfit is.

What makes people so sure Trump won’t turn the economy around?

This is a man who made multi billions from multi millions. Through work, production and in a legal way

Not like Congress insider trading nonsense

He was educated in a top 3 finance school, Ivy league, I’ll add

He has a cooperative staff. He knows Congress, he shows us that he knows them.

In January, the BBB kicks in. Why do people look at the election a year away. 11 months away and assume Trump is a dumb congressman?
A do nothing senator?

An all talk governor?

He doesn’t want to go into 27-28 with Congress giving our country over and dragging him and his family into court, jail, even more than we don’t want that

And he is fully aware of that prospect more than we are.

He told us today how much sleazy Congress people can come trusted. It would be a mistake to assume Trump thinks more of GOP Congress people than he thinks of Cuellar.

Just to be accurate, the “Bidenflation” you cite came as the result of all the federal money shoved into the economy to keep it going after Covid and the lockdowns hit. We’ve always know it was inflationary, and counted on the Fed to wring that inflation out of the economy.

That’s a big reason Trump is unhappy with the Fed Chair now. If the Fed loosens interest rates, a large piece of the economy will still go into recession, and inflation will accelerate.

I wasn’t really predicting the future or anything. The dems have been saying we’re heading for a hard recession forever now, but so far it’s been more of a slow burn soft landing.

The effects of AI in the coming years on the market are the big unknown and there’s nothing Trump or anyone can really do about until.. That is until some UBI is forced in because there’s just too much surplus labor.
