Remember how the media were adamant that the U.S. was due for a climate change-caused deluge of catastrophic hurricanes this year? Well, as the Al Gore effect goes: it never happened. Axios reported November 23 that the 2025 hurricane season is ending without a “single” U.S. landfall for the first time in 10 years. Of course, the liberal outlet couldn’t resist trying to drum up fears despite the catastrophic predictions from months ago going kaput: “That's welcome news for hurricane-prone states, but doesn't mean future years will be equally calm — especially as climate change continues to warm the oceans,...

New York Federal Reserve President John Williams said Friday he expects the central bank can lower its key interest rate from here as labor market weakness poses a bigger economic threat than higher inflation. With divisions in the central bank running high over the future of rates, Williams took the side of the doves who still see policy as a bit restrictive when it comes to economic growth. “I view monetary policy as being modestly restrictive, although somewhat less so than before our recent actions,” he said in remarks for a speech in Santiago, Chile. “Therefore, I still see room...

Suspicions were raised around the internet as Wormtongue's X account was revealed to have been created in Isengard. He had always been esteemed as a loyal and faithful advisor in all the land of Rohan until the grey wizard Gandalf petitioned X to roll out their new "about this account" transparency feature which displays the country from which an account primarily operates based upon factors like download location and activity patterns. Now when users click on...

[Catholic Caucus] LEO IS FOLLOWING FRANCIS’ ABUSE COVER-UP PLAYBOOKDiarmuid Martin, after completing his studies for the priesthood in Ireland in 1969, worked in a Dublin parish before being sent to Rome for further studies in moral theology. Even though we were both pursuing licentiate degrees at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum), we didn’t meet in class. Rather, we met through a common friend, Swiss Guard Wachtmeister Hans Roggen. After attending my diaconate ordination at the North American College in 1973, Diarmuid returned to Ireland only to come back to Rome in 1976 to spend most of his...

Liberal judges who decide not to jail violent career criminals and sadistic psychopaths ought to be held liable when the felons attack innocent citizens. Two horrendous, unprovoked attacks on helpless young women on public transit in recent weeks would never have happened if the legal system had done what it’s designed to do. Instead, BLM-inspired reparatory justice has endangered the most vulnerable among us — women, children, the elderly and disabled. We pay police and judges to keep evil and dangerous predators away from weak and defenseless innocents. Yet radical Democrats who have taken over blue cities are hellbent on a...

Meta halted internal research that purportedly showed that people who stopped using Facebook became less depressed and anxious, according to a legal filing that was released on Friday. The social media giant was alleged to have initiated the study, dubbed Project Mercury, in late 2019 as a way to help it “explore the impact that our apps have on polarization, news consumption, well-being, and daily social interactions,” according to the legal brief, filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. The filing contains newly unredacted information pertaining to Meta. The newly released legal brief is...

A federal judge threw out the indictments against James Comey and Letitia James on Monday, finding they were illegitimate because they were brought by an unqualified U.S. attorney. Judge Cameron Currie dismissed the false statements charges against Comey and bank fraud charges against James without prejudice, meaning the charges could be brought again. "I conclude that the Attorney General’s attempt to install Ms. Halligan as Interim U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia was invalid and that Ms. Halligan has been unlawfully serving in that role since September 22, 2025," Currie wrote. The Department of Justice could appeal the...

Eli Lilly reached a $1 trillion market capitalization on Friday, the first health-care company in the world to join the exclusive club dominated by tech firms. The drugmaker’s stock inched about 1% higher Monday, trading above the $1 trillion threshold. Eli Lilly is the second nontechnology company to reach that market cap milestone in the U.S. after Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway . The company’s rise came as shares of its chief rival in the GLP-1 drug space, Novo Nordisk , tumbled about 6% in U.S. trading Monday. While Novo Nordisk’s stock fell after disappointing Alzheimer’s trial results, the drugmaker’s market...

hanksgiving week is an obvious time to roll out the liberal media's tradition of exaggerating the hunger problem in America. On CNN This Morning, host Audie Cornish kicked off the segment by claiming: "One in five children in the US experiencing hunger right now."Utterly false. Her guest, Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, the head of the "Feeding America" organization, cleaned that up a bit. But apparently not wanting to call Cornish out on her gross misrepresentation, Babineaux-Fontenot said: "You said it before. One in five of our children are food insecure." No, Cornish didn't say before that 1-in-5 children are "food insecure." She...

"The talks were constructive, focused, and respectful, underscoring the shared commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace," the White House said in a statement, without providing details. "The discussions showed meaningful progress toward aligning positions and identifying clear next steps," it noted, and the parties reaffirmed that "any future agreement must fully uphold Ukraine’s sovereignty and deliver a sustainable and just peace." The Radicalization of Gen ZA rootless generation looks for home in dark places.A friend who works with high school students recently said to me, “I overheard a group of boys talking about ‘international Jewry.’” He was in disbelief to hear these seemingly mild-mannered kids express views that, not 20 years ago, would have been considered taboo. What is going on with Gen Z?I’ve written elsewhere that Gen Z is experiencing a kind of church resurgence. That remains true. But at the same time, Gen Z is one of the most polarized generations in American history. In 2024, Gen Z—led in part by...

James Q. Wilson’s work showed that removing dangerous people from the streets protects communities. Sergio Hyland seemed like the perfect advocate. Calling himself a “fierce, relentless, implacable abolitionist,” determined to end incarceration in the United States, Hyland had spent more than two decades behind bars before joining Pennsylvania’s Working Families Party as an anti-prison organizer. His criminal record only burnished his credentials: he had pled guilty to the 2001 killing of a 15-year-old and was later charged in connection with another homicide in 2002. Once he got out of prison in 2022, Hyland launched a website offering “speaking engagements” and...

MONROE, Mich. – A Campbell’s employee is suing the company because he said he was wrongfully terminated after he complained about an upper-level executive’s explosive tirade on the product and its customers. “He has no filter,” said Robert Garza, of Monroe, about his former supervisor at Campbell Soup Company and current Vice President Martin Bally. “He thinks he’s a C-level executive at a Fortune 500 company and he can do whatever he wants because he’s an executive.” Garza said he recorded an hour-long rant by the top Campbell Soup Company executive because he said he trusted his “instinct that something...

A federal judge has dismissed the criminal cases against former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James, concluding that the prosecutor who brought the charges at President Donald Trump’s urging was illegally appointed by the Justice Department. The rulings from U.S. District Judge Cameron McGowan Currie amount to a stunning rebuke of the Trump administration’s efforts to target Trump’s political opponents. It also highlights its legal maneuvering to hastily install a loyalist prosecutor willing to file the cases. The orders make Lindsey Halligan the latest Trump administration prosecutor to be disqualified because of the manner in...
