Two activists from the climate group Futuro Vegetal were arrested on Sunday, October 12, the date Spain commemorates the arrival of Christopher Columbus in the Americas, after throwing biodegradable red paint on a painting of Columbus at the Naval Museum in Madrid. Per reports from El Confidencial and El País, the paint damaged the left portion of José Garnelo’s 1892 First Tribute to Christopher Columbus, which is displayed at the museum entrance. The activists also unfurled a banner reading “October 12, nothing to celebrate. Ecosocial justice.” Futuro Vegetal said in a statement that the incident aimed to call attention to...

So that is a victory for the Israeli side."Videos released over the past two years have shown malnourished Israeli hostages enduring brutal...

The real crisis is rogue lower court judges who have no respect for separation of powers or the constitutional role of the judicial branch. Since returning to office, President Trump has faced an onslaught of leftist-backed lawfare seeking to grind the implementation of his voters’ agenda to a halt. Unsurprisingly, many of these lawsuits have been filed in districts predominated by Democrat-appointed judges, who have been more than happy to issue a myriad of preliminary injunctions and temporary restraining orders blocking enforcement of the administration’s policies. Now, with the U.S. Supreme Court largely agreeing to shut down this lower court judicial...

The 2011 stabbing death of Philadelphia school teacher Ellen Greenberg has again been ruled a suicide by the city's Medical Examiner, after years of her parents advocating for authorities to take a closer look. Greenberg was 27 years old when she was stabbed 20 times, including 10 times in the back of the neck and head. Greenberg was found deceased in the Manayunk apartment she shared with her fiance Sam Goldberg, and the wounds were ruled to have been self-inflicted. A kitchen knife with a 10-inch blade was found sticking out of her chest. Greenberg's parents have fought for 14...

The tenant living in the Virginia house at the center of New York Attorney General Letitia James's federal indictment is a 'fugitive' from justice, the Daily Mail can exclusively reveal. James has reportedly allowed her grandniece Nakia Thompson - along with Thompson's three children - to live in the three-bedroom property in Norfolk since 2020. Now, in an embarrassing twist for Donald Trump's nemesis, Daily Mail has discovered that Thompson is officially listed as an 'absconder' who is being sought by authorities in North Carolina for failing to finish her probation. 'Ms Thompson was sentenced to probation for misdemeanor convictions...

Great idea, Portlanders: Once the illegals catch sight of your pasty backsides, they'll demand to be deported! From the National Review: Hundreds of individuals stripped down at least partially before getting on their bikes. The group met at Portland's Convention Center, staged a die-in on Burnside Bridge, and ended the cycle ride at the city's Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility. Some protesters wore see-through ponchos over their naked bodies to shield themselves from the rain. Others wore costumes and clown outfits and held Palestinian flags. Here's a somewhat censored version of what that looked like: [Warning: I made sure no...

Evaluation included high-level imaging, done in advance of Trump's upcoming trips overseasPresident Donald Trump is in "exceptional health," his physician said after he underwent a checkup that included lab tests and preventive health assessments at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. A deadly struggle for power has begun in Gaza that has left dozens dead in clashes between Hamas and its bitter rivals. At least 27 people have been killed in the deadly skirmishes between the terror group and armed members of the Dughmush family in Gaza City. The two groups have reportedly been fighting since Saturday across Gaza's main city, including near the Jordanian hospital in the west of the city. The BBC reported that 19 Dughmush clan members and eight Hamas fighters have been killed since then. But ordinary Gazans, who have suffered under the Israeli invasion of the...

[Catholic Caucus] A Reaction to Kwasniewski's Appearance on Pints with AquinasAs many of our readers will know, I appeared recently on the Pints with Aquinas podcast, hosted by Matt Fradd. The interview has over 100K views. The impact seems to be international, as well: a German website called Certamen wrote up a succinct commentary that is translated below. -PAK A Commentary on the Conversation between Matt Fradd and Dr. Peter KwasniewskiThere are conversations that begin like a quiet stream and develop into a raging torrent. Complexity is one of those things frequently evoked but seldom understood or explained. Let us take the much-hyped narrative of an impending civil war in Britain, which has been pushed relentlessly by the center-right press in both Britain and America, following dire warnings from Professor David Betz about a coming clash between UK’s Muslim left and the white far-right. Several things can all be true at once: First, the British ruling class has done a woeful job governing the country. Decades of awful decisions have added up, damaging social cohesion and severing the moral unity between rulers and ruled. Second,...

On October 14, 2025, Missouri is set to execute Lance Shockley by lethal injection. The circumstantial evidence is compelling, but comprehensive DNA testing wasn’t done—and the courts have decided that it never will be. In 2005, Sergeant Carl Graham was investigating Shockley's role in a fatal drunk driving accident. Graham was killed by a rifle shot. Shockley (28) was charged with the murder. There were no eyewitness or physical evidence—no DNA, fingerprints, blood or murder weapon. Shockley's trial started on March 20, 2009. The jury found him guilty but deadlocked on the penalty—life or death. The trial judge sentenced him...

Explanation: One of the last entries in Charles Messier's famous catalog, big, beautiful spiral galaxy M101 is definitely not one of the least. About 170,000 light-years across, this galaxy is enormous, almost twice the size of our own Milky Way Galaxy. M101 was also one of the original spiral nebulae observed with Lord Rosse's large 19th century telescope, the Leviathan of Parsontown. In contrast, this multiwavelength view of the large island universe is a composite of images recorded by space-based telescopes in the 21st century. Color coded from X-rays to infrared wavelengths (high to low energies), the image data was...

At a recent gun show I picked up a still-in-the-box Henry Steel Lever 30-30. The gent selling it had shoulder replacement and was unloading the rifle a a good price. He said he had fired it less than 10 times. Not a mark on it. So it came home with me. My question for the group here is this - what's the 'right' leather sling for this rifle? This rifle will not see hard use - my old faithful Marlin 336R is my rifle for short range stands. It'll go in the woods in two weeks for modern firearm season....

A Texas business owner says his life has been turned upside down after a social media post criticizing H-1B visas led to online harassment, business backlash and ultimately, church discipline. In 1914, Europe stumbled into a war no one wanted and few understood;a war that destroyed empires and redefined civilization.Today, Washington risks repeating that mistake, this time with nuclear weapons on the table. Through arrogance, ignorance, or incompetence, the United States is drifting toward direct confrontation with Russia, the world’s largest nuclear arsenal, with consequences that could be apocalyptic.President Trump last week said he has “sort of” made a decision about supplying Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine or NATO allies. He wants to learn more about “what they are doing with them” before making a final decision. His goal is to...
