TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Jacksonville-based roofing company at the center of a Better Call Behnken investigation has been sued by the Florida Attorney General’s Office over a “scheme” that involves “frivolous” liens and lawsuits it filed against its customers in multiple Tampa Bay counties. The lawsuit seeks restitution and to terminate “illegal construction liens” and to permanently prohibit the company from doing any of the things it takes to sell and install roofs in the state of Florida. The AG has been investigating Florida Roof Specialists since at least September 2024 and has 137 consumer complaints. The lawsuit also...

Officials removed the staff member who called Charlie Kirk’s assassination “fair” in a personal social media post from GW’s internal directory, marking his apparent departure amid a wave of schools firing and suspending employees over posts related to Kirk’s killing. Anthony Pohorilak, who served as the Mount Vernon Campus’ assistant director of academic initiatives, is no longer listed on the University’s directory as of Wednesday — days after Fox News reported that he wrote “no thoughts, and no prayers” about Kirk’s assassination in a post on his personal Facebook account. Pohorilak’s apparent departure comes as faculty and staff across the...

Last week, the Hawaii Supreme Court ruled that its state constitution does not protect an individual right to keep and bear arms — even though Article I, Section 17, of the Hawaii Constitution is virtually identical to the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Among other things, the Hawaii court offered a pointed — and colorful — repudiation of the U.S. Supreme Court’s reliance on history and tradition in interpreting the Second Amendment. Quoting the TV show The Wire, the Hawaii Supreme Court observed, “The thing about the old days, they the old days.” The case, State v. Wilson, came...

Whenever Germans head to the polls, one question dominates all debate: How strong will the populist AfD become this time? Last Sunday’s district and mayoral elections in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW)—Germany’s most populous state—provided a stark answer. While Germany’s state broadcaster spoke of a “sigh of relief” when the ruling CDU emerged victorious with 33.3% of votes, keeping the AfD in third place at 14.5%, this narrative of triumph masks a far more troubling reality for Germany’s political elite. Minister President Henrik Wüst, despite his CDU’s electoral win, admitted he could no longer “sleep peacefully” given the AfD’s result. His anxiety...

A federal judge on Thursday blocked the Trump Administration from deporting Guatemalan children in HHS custody to their home country. US District Judge Timothy Kelly, a Trump appointee, said Trump’s claim he is reunifying the migrant children with their parents “crumbled like a house of cards.” The government of Guatemala has now formally requested that these children be returned home. The children, who do not have a parent in the US, were in the care of the Health and Human Services Department. The Trump Administration worked with the Guatemalan government to devise a plan to safely return the children to...

The Office’s Rainn Wilson had the perfect take on the Charlie Kirk assassination. The actor roundly rejected claims that we should be celebrating the death of someone with whom we disagree politically. It’s so wrong-headed, speaking to actor Mark Ruffalo. He mentioned that he talked to some “liberal friends” who were less than compassionate. “Guys, no,” said Wilson. “No, we cannot think or talk that way.” Granted, it’s nothing special. All one must do is not act like an a**hole, but the Left cannot contain their bloodlust in the wake of the murder of the Turning Point USA founder. The...

Olivia Krolczyk has been on a mission since Charlie Kirk’s assassination, scouring social media to find those celebrating his death — then alerting their employers. The 22-year-old takes credit for getting hundreds booted from their jobs.“It’s not cancel culture, it’s holding people accountable,” she said in one video defending her actions.Ms. Krolczyk, who has gained a following opposing transgender athletes participating in women’s sports and has appeared as a speaker for Mr. Kirk’s Turning Point USA, is not alone.Furious at the nastiness and, in some cases, full-on embrace of political violence, conservatives are harnessing public pressure to go after targets...

This has been a very, very long time coming, of course. We’ve all heard the old line that character is destiny. It’s one of those things you might have sticking in your head every time a risk you take goes wrong or there’s a teachable moment that plays out in front of you. You can beat yourself up pretty badly with “character is destiny.” Because it’s very true, and it’s also harsh as hell. Bad people ultimately get what’s coming to them. It’s a timeless truth. Are there exceptions? Sure, perhaps. Nothing ever really happened to Genghis Khan, for example,...

The Associated Press has named Matthew James Ruth, 24, as the suspect in the deadly York County ambush of five police officers on Wednesday in North Codorus Township. Five officers were shot. Three were killed and two were critically wounded...

Donald Trump suggested Sir Keir Starmer should involve the military in tackling the small boats crisis as he warned illegal migration could "destroy countries “from within”. The US president said he had discussed the UK’s efforst to control illegal migration with Sir Keir at the Prime Minister's country residence Chequers at a joint press conference held by the two men at the end of his two day state visit. He highlighted his own record in securing the borders in the US and suggested the UK faced a similar challenge. Trump said: "What I saw happening, with millions of people pouring...

The world is trying to understand why Tyler Robinson would allegedly shoot and kill Charlie Kirk. The police report highlights Robinson’s radicalization into left-wing ideologies as the likely connection to his murder, chief among them being the sex and gender ideology insanity. Robinson’s live-in boyfriend was a trans-identified male, Lance Twiggs, with some reports showing that the couple had an affinity for “furry” culture. On the surface, “furries” are interested in anthropomorphism: animals who act like people. As an offspring of transgender ideology, “furry” culture centers on sexual interest in these anthropomorphic animal characters. Robinson had an account on FurAffinity.net,...

Jimmy Kimmel’s comments on the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk weren’t just noxiously offensive and seemingly misleading — their timing was also incredibly bad: They threaten to derail Nexstar’s $6.2 billion takeover of rival broadcaster Tegna, telecom insiders tell On The Money. The already controversial deal — which would combine two of the nation’s largest owners of local TV stations — poses significant antitrust questions and needs a close review by the Federal Communications Commission and its conservative firebrand chairman, Brendan Carr. Kimmel’s comments made that approval even dicier. That’s why Nexstar publicly announced Thursday that its stations would...

He retired late and has a mortgage not set to be paid off until just after his 100th birthday. Some might say that's not the best of financial planning. And as he struggles to find his post-presidential feet there seems little prospect that Joe Biden, 82, will get any help from some of his Democratic friends. Many of them are still seething at the octogenarian's decision to attempt a reelection bid in 2024, and have little appetite to invite him to make lucrative speeches, or to contribute funds to his presidential library. 'There isn't a whole lot of goodwill for...

Following the historic 2024 election, the media spotlight shone brightly on me and Barron Trump, the President’s youngest son, for the Republican Party’s unprecedented gains among young voters. Analysts hailed our podcast strategy as a game-changer, crediting us with flipping a demographic long considered a Democratic stronghold. While Barron and I are grateful for the recognition, it would be disingenuous to accept the lion’s share of the praise. The real architect of this seismic shift was Charlie Kirk, and his relentless work on Turning Point USA. For over a decade, Charlie was the heartbeat of conservative youth outreach. His influence...

This is one of those things that so many times, someone says it, people listen to it, and its a topic all of us know and know to be true. But then everybody moves on. No. Stop. Right here. We need a greater discussion and a greater recognition of the Abolitionist Founding Fathers. We need more of a focus on this instead of everybody just moving on. The progressives do not move on ergo we do not move on. We need sharing the details, knowing the details, being able to in specifics push back against progressivism when they wield the...

Turning Point USA announced on Thursday that it has unanimously elected Charlie Kirk‘s wife, Erika, as the new CEO and board chair following the conservative activist’s death. The conservative group revealed Kirk told multiple executives that he wanted Erika to take his place if he died.“Charlie prepared all of us for a moment like this one,” TPUSA’s Board of Directors wrote in a letter dated Wednesday. “He worked tirelessly to ensure Turning Point USA was built to survive even the greatest tests. And now, it is our great pride to announce Erika Kirk as the new CEO and Chair of...

There is still more to learn about the horrific case of Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, the illegal immigrant accused of beheading a hotel manager in Dallas. You can read the terrible details of what happened here. And now, a bit more about the suspect’s history, collected from knowledgeable sources:Cobos-Martinez came to the United States from Cuba. Since the 1959 revolution, the U.S. has had special immigration programs that apply specifically to Cubans. One allows a Cuban national to come to the U.S., be “paroled” into the country — that is, given permission to stay here legally — and have one year in...

Within hours of her 2016 presidential campaign loss, a devastated Hillary Clinton attributed her defeat not to the American voters who rejected her, but to Russia, echoing a campaign theme she had been developing for months. “Hillary declined to take responsibility for her own loss” and “kept pointing her finger” at Russia, according to Shattered, a 2017 book about her campaign—“Her team coalesced around the idea that Russian hacking was the major unreported story of the campaign.” The corporate media were also devastated, as they had spent the entire campaign mocking the idea that Trump and his anti-establishment positions on...
