Most Americans firmly believe that educational institutions should be places where all ideas can be discussed and no one need fear reprisal for saying the wrong thing or pursuing the wrong research topic. That ideal, however, is not embraced by all people. There are powerful forces, here and abroad, that want to dominate education in order to advance their goals. They have no qualms about telling students what they must believe or telling faculty members not to research certain topics. Of course, the leaders of our colleges and universities would never cooperate with those authoritarian forces—or would they? In her...

Fox News’ resident leftist Jessica Tarlov has once again embarrassed herself, this time rushing to defend an illegal alien on social media before being forced to delete her tweet in disgrace. The Gateway Pundit previously reported that D.C. police tackled an illegal alien on the National Mall after he tried to flee. Video captured him shouting in Spanish, “Please! I’m not a criminal. I work here! I want to be with my family!” Without missing a beat, Tarlov rushed to X to blast Trump’s law-and-order approach. She wrote: “This doesn’t make D.C. safer. It’ll just make people not come to...

A New York state appeals court voided a more than $500 million civil fraud penalty imposed on President Donald Trump. The appeals court said “injunctive relief” ordered by the trial judge in the case was “well crafted to curb defendants’ business culture” at the Trump Organization. But the order that “directs that defendants pay nearly half a billion dollars to the State of New York, is an excessive fine that violates the Eighth Amendment of the United States Constitution,” the appeals court said.

Jesus told the Jews of His day that their judgment would be much more severe than that of Sodom and Gomorrah, because they had received a much greater revelation of the truth (Matthew 11:20-24). The same applies to America in this century. No other nation has had the same access to the Word of God that has been granted to the American people…Our judgment for rejecting it will be correspondingly severe. Many Christians do not realize that God's judgment does not begin with the people of the world, but with the people of God. Peter told the Christians of his...

Many federal courts are trying to teach lawyers a lesson for court filings with errors generated by artificial intelligence, but one recent case takes a kinder, gentler approach. A federal magistrate judge in the Eastern District of New York refused to impose monetary penalties on a lawyer who submitted three hallucinated cases in a court filing, citing her “remorseful explanations” and “tragic personal circumstances.” Imposing lesser sanctions, U.

Each team can select which phrase it would like displayed on the opposite end zone. Other options include “Choose Love” or “Inspire Change,” though all international games will feature the end zone messages “End Racism” and “It Takes All of Us.” “For decades, the NFL and...

President Trump has taken extraordinary measures in the nation’s capital to fulfill an ordinary function of local government: keeping clean, orderly streets. His actions seem unusual because government officials in America’s cities long ago abandoned the basics. They have been led astray by academics and activists who promised them crimeless cities and an end to homelessness if only they established a right to housing and eradicated income inequality. These idealistic public-policy frameworks have failed to achieve the desired outcomes anywhere in the U.S. Instead, they’ve ushered in the worst homelessness crisis on record. President Trump’s strategy is straightforward: Everyone living...

It has been difficult for archaeologists to accurately estimate the ancient Maya population because so many of their settlements still remain undiscovered and obscured beneath the jungle canopy of the Yucatán Peninsula. According to a statement released by Tulane University, however, a recent study conducted by researchers concluded that the Maya civilization was probably much more populous than previously thought. Relying on new lidar data compiled across 36,700 square miles of the Maya Lowlands -- an area that comprises parts of Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize -- the team suggests that during the Late Classic period (a.d. 600–900), the Maya population...
