German prosecutors say a Ukrainian man has been arrested in Italy on suspicion of blowing up the Nord Stream gas pipelines under the Baltic Sea, several months after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
(snip)
There is no evidence so far linking Ukraine, Russia or any other state to the attacks.

They found their own Derek Chauvin to scapegoat.
Uh, why is this announcement from the Germans and not the Italians?
Gilligan? Or the Skipper?
I don’t think anyone would buy the “happened to blow up” scenario, as explosives were used.
But a state actor is not needed. The pipelines are well-mapped to avoid accident. They are magnetic. It’s extremely easy to find.
Lowering a bomb on a cable with a magnet you dragged along the target area until it stuck is simple stuff, as are explosives.
So, yeah, a few drunk engineers (or chemist, or whatever) with a bomb cookbook could do this for under a million dollars. Probably under $100K. The most expensive part would be chartering a boat.
Poor guy probably helped Paddock, and Crooks and backed by Iran...

Must have blown up by themselves.
This has devastated the German economy.

Concur. No evidence that they looked for or agree with!
That said, I agree with the posters above that this could be spooks (and probably was, notably Biden CIA or Ukraine), but was also plausibly motivated private persons with some cash and brains.
Sweden came to the conclusion months ago. They have proof. But, how many years has it been since anything published in the BBC ties to evidence or proof?
