A hunt was underway tonight for a missing radioactive package which 'failed' to arrive at Madrid's Barajas Airport. Spain's Nuclear Safety Council (CSN) sounded the alarm this evening over the transport package with 'four radioactive sources' of 'very dangerous' category 2 Selenium-75. Local reports said the CSN had sent a team of inspectors to the airport to try to glean more information. This comes amid reports of thousands of unidentified drone sightings along...

The pain in my father's eyes is a sort of memory seared so thoroughly that I will never forget it. There he was, aged 41, in the back of a police cruiser as I stand outside looking back at him, myself frozen in time. His sharp, deep blue eyes were not onlooking some boyish mishap of mine or expressing a sense of fatherly pride. He sat there, handcuffed, utterly defeated by life. Only moments earlier, on a cold, damp January 2007 day along the hills of East Tennessee, my father and I hastily packed whatever personal belongings we could salvage...

Former Secretary of State and First Lady Hillary Clinton is weighing in on Sesame Street not being picked up by HBO. The ex-Senator urged followers via her Facebook page to help donate to keep the long-running children's series going. This comes on the heels of Warner Bros. Discovery announcing last week it had opted out of renewing its deal to create new episodes. The current Sesame Street library will continue being on Max's platform until 2027. On her Facebook post, Clinton included a throwback photo of herself on the set of Sesame Street with the caption: Big Bird needs a...

Presidents don’t ordinarily pick the director of Voice of America, an international news broadcaster funded by the US government. But President-elect Donald Trump says he wants his ally Kari Lake to take over VOA. Trump’s Wednesday night social media post – in which he said, “I am pleased to announce that Kari Lake will serve as our next Director of the Voice of America” – presages many future fights over VOA, which became an ideological battleground during Trump’s first term in office. Some journalists at VOA are highly concerned about that idea that Lake, a longtime local TV anchor turned...

Senator Thom Tillis appears to have been granted a larger slice of the lobbyist money from Thune and McConnell because he certainly is taking up a position next to Joni Ernst in strategic opposition to President Donald Trump. The level of passive aggressive threat-speak within Tillis’ very carefully selected wording is quite concerning. “President Trump enjoyed a great deal of Republican support in his first term,” Tillis notes. “But if people want to play the outside [pressure] game, they run a lot of risk,” he continues. “Four votes is all it’s going to take to kill a nomination here, so...

As everybody knows, the Irish Times is about as close as it gets to being the house journal of official Ireland, which makes this paragraph of its breaking news story this afternoon about the Israeli decision to close the Dublin Embassy particularly hilarious:“To date, Israel has not applied similar measures to other countries, including Egypt, Spain, and Mexico, which also joined the petition accusing Israel of genocide..”The subtext is obvious: The perfidious Israelis have unfairly singled out little old Ireland again. Why, we’ve been unfairly treated! In reality, the reasons why Ireland would be treated differently to those three countries are...

Gov. Kathy Hochul’s decision to fork over taxpayer money to build a new stadium for the Buffalo Bills drew renewed scorn – after the NFL team’s billionaire owners sold a minority stake for a massive profit, The Post has learned. Hochul, a Buffalo native, had agreed in 2022 to provide $600 million in state funding – with Erie Country tossing in an additional $250 million – for the privately-owned stadium after Bills owner Terry Pegula threatened to leave Western New York. The new 62,000-seat Highmark Stadium, expected to open in 2026, played a significant role in inflating the value of...

A pediatric vaccine for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is proving to be elusive, according to news from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. RSV is a highly contagious, common respiratory virus that infects the nose, throat, and lungs. And while it does not usually cause severe illness in healthy adults and children, some people with RSV infection, especially older adults and infants younger than 6 months of age, can become very sick and may need to be hospitalized. But enrollment for all clinical studies of infant RSV vaccines is now on hold due to safety concerns, explained a Dec. 11...

CNN aired a high-profile report last week in which journalist Clarissa Ward ostensibly discovered a “forgotten prisoner” languishing in a windowless cell in Syria. The man claimed he had been arrested by dictator Bashar Assad three weeks earlier and was not aware the Assad regime had since been overthrown by rebels. On Sunday, an independent news service claimed CNN’s celebrity prisoner was actually a Syrian intelligence agent who tricked the network into giving him positive media coverage. Ward, who is CNN’s chief international correspondent, found the “prisoner” huddled beneath a blanket when she entered the headquarters of Syrian air force...

Appel, who works in the Intelligence Programs Directorate, noted his team's responsibility for providing senior policymakers with top secrets, stating, "We give all of the senior policymakers all of the secrets."
