Image Credit: ShadowStats By Stan Szymanski The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for September came out today hotter than expected up 0.3% for the month for a ‘year-over-year’ (YoY) of 3.3% general increase in consumer prices according to the ‘official’ report. John Williams of ShadowStats has a different take on the matter. His work on the economic numbers shows that ‘real’ inflation (the way the CPI was calculated prior to 1980) was consistently higher-about 9% higher than the way CPI numbers are calculated in 2024. So what Mr. Williams calls the ‘alternative’ rate of inflation (that we all actually live in)...

Kamala Harris and Tim Walz have made a penchant for chastising “hate speech” and “misinformation” on the campaign trail this election season. While those words might not seem like much to those less familiar with how our constitutional form of government, and specifically the First Amendment, is supposed to work, they are offensive to those of us who understand a thing or two about the Constitution – particularly, the notable omission of a so-called “hate speech” clause. In truth, liberals like Kamala and Walz are merely playing with words (and not particularly well) doing their best to not tell people...

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — From behind her barber chair and in her community, Cherita Evans — who goes by “Storm the Barber” — has picked up on a troubling trend for Vice President Harris’ campaign. “Most of my female family and friends — they're voting for Harris,” Evans said in an interview at the Head Changerz shop last week. But she said some of the men in her life aren’t so sure. “I think ... a lot of men aren't ready to vote for a woman.”

University of North Carolina student Brook Cheuvront found dead after going missing on hike in South Africa: ‘We are devastated’ A North Carolina student has been found dead a day after she went missing while hiking a mountain in South Africa, authorities and her “devastated” family said Monday. Brook Cheuvront, 20, was reported missing Saturday from Table Mountain in Cape Town — where she was studying — after she stopped responding to friends and couldn’t be located on a tracking app, a rep for SANPark, which manages the mountain, told CBS News. Rangers and trail runners searched until late Saturday,...

Cops in Southeast Portland stopped a couple who were driving a suspected stolen car. During the stop, the cops searched the car and allegedly found a whole bunch of incriminating stuff. A lot of cash. A loaded revolver. Some scales for weighing drugs. And they found a bag full of drugs that had the words “Definitely Not a Bag Full of Drugs” written on it. They say the bag contained 10 grams of fentanyl and methamphetamine. The couple was arrested. The guy, a 35-year-old named Reginald Lamont Reynolds, is facing multiple charges including delivery and unlawful possession of methamphetamine, unauthorized...

During an interview with Philadelphia ABC affiliate WPVI on Friday, 2024 Democratic Vice Presidential candidate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) said that there are differences between 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, but told voters “the difference between Kamala Harris and Joe Biden is not what they need to be concerned with.” WPVI host Brian Taff asked, “How specifically do you turn the page — that’s the case you’re making about turning the page — on an administration that A. Vice President Harris is a part of, and that B., as recently as this week,...

I’ve long argued corporate media’s job is not to inform, but to enforce political orthodoxy and police the allowable boundaries of approved thought. So I was intrigued by yesterday’s otherwise useless New York Times article headlined, “‘Pod Save America’ Won’t Quit.” The article was just free advertising for a far-left podcast, but it included an astonishing admission. This particular podcast launched in 2016 right after Trump’s election as a part of the ‘#Resist’ movement. Seeded with Soros funding, this far-left show with its three white male hosts is now arguably partisan Democrats’ most popular podcast. “They were the Obama government...

San Francisco is gearing up to shut down 9% of its public schools in a desperate move to fix a massive budget deficit. With student enrollment plummeting and pandemic relief funds drying up, the city is set to close or merge 11 out of its 121 schools, leaving the future of thousands of students and teachers hanging in the balance. The proposal, which was announced late Tuesday, comes as the school district faces a whopping $113 million in cuts by 2026, or risk a dreaded state takeover. “Without a balanced budget and a plan to consolidate our resources, we risk...

Troubled electric vehicle company Fisker’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings have encountered a significant obstacle, as American Lease, the company set to purchase Fisker’s remaining fleet of SUVs, may back out of the deal due to technical issues. TechCrunch reports that Fisker’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy process has hit a major snag. American Lease, a New York-based leasing company that agreed to purchase Fisker’s remaining fleet of over 3,000 electric Ocean SUVs, has filed an emergency objection to the liquidation plan. The objection stems from Fisker’s revelation that it may be unable to transfer crucial vehicle information to a new server not...

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) – Ukrainian military recruitment officers raided restaurants, bars and a concert hall in Kyiv, checking military registration documents and detaining men who were not in compliance, local media reported Saturday. Officers reportedly descended on Kyiv’s Palace of Sports venue after a concert Friday night by Ukrainian rock band Okean Elzy. Video footage aired by local media outlets appears to show officers stationed outside the doors of the concert hall intercepting men as they exit. In the footage, officers appear to be forcibly detaining some men. Checks were also conducted at Goodwine, an upscale shopping center, and Avalon,...

In ancient Egypt pharaohs were considered gods. They believed that when a pharaoh died, he would continue to lead them from the beyond, which partially explains why they had such ornate tombs. At roughly the same time, Japanese emperors were similarly thought to be gods, a practice that continued until 1945, when, after the war the emperor was required to explain to his people that he, in fact, was not a god. In the Roman Empire, while emperors were not considered gods while living, most were deified upon death. While living however they were thought to have authority that had...

Thank you for allowing this vanity post. In light of how the Biden/Harris Administration has treated NC, with all the chaos and destruction they have been through and continue to endure, what do you think of Trump's chances to win, if NC, of all states, is called for Harris on Election Night? It sends a chill up my spine.

Amid the media’s efforts to prop up this grossly unqualified woman, the latest string of surveys is not good for Kamala Harris. Ex-MSNBC analyst Mark Halperin said the new private poll slate shows Harris at risk of losing six swing states. In the past 48-72 hours, the chances of Donald Trump winning this election have mightily increased. Harris is underwater with most, if not all, of the core Democratic voter groups she needs to win. It’s been cratering since the summer. Trump is on track to have the best showing for a Republican among black voters since 1972. Latinos are...
