A 2021 video of Kamala Harris bragging about allowing tens of thousands of Haitians into the US is making the rounds amid reports the migrants are wreaking havoc on Springfield, Ohio. More than 20,000 Haitians are now living in Springfield, Ohio and the residents are fed up. Springfield has a population of about 60,000 people and Haitians now make up 25% of the population. Democrats want to take back Ohio so they have flooded parts of the state with Haitians and other illegal migrants. The City of Springfield held a City Commission meeting last week and angry residents went off...

A Chicago woman is being praised by her neighbors after fending off a would-be intruder trying to enter her home through her daughter's window. Police were initially called to the home on a report of a shooting around 10:45 Saturday evening, and found a man with a gunshot wound to his leg. It didn't take long for officers to learn that the man wasn't an innocent victim, but had been shot after allegedly trying to make his way inside the home. “I’m just super shaken up. I’m a single mom. I live here with my children, so that’s the last...

35 years in business, family-owned market in South Beach is closing... Co-owner David Pesusic said high operation costs and mounting neighborhood crime were driving factors.Bayside Market, at 120 Brannan St. near the Embarcadero, will cease operations on Sept. 13. Some of its 12 employees will be transferred to RJ’s Market near Fisherman’s Wharf, the owners’ other location, but most will be laid off, Pesusic said. In addition to inflation-fueled bills and declining foot traffic, the small grocery and deli has suffered from “rampant” crime, near-daily shoplifting and three break-ins in the past couple years, Pesusic said. He blamed city officials...

In 2003 and 2004, ESAG, in collaboration with Greek authorities, conducted a geophysical survey around Paleoekklisies Hill to identify traces of buried ancient buildings. In 2006, they received a permit to dig in the area of their survey that seemed to have the greatest potential. The team uncovered ancient building material, houses, and graves; however, they were from the wrong time period. There was a long history of settlement on Paleoekklisies Hill dating back to the third millennium b.c. In fact, in the second millennium b.c., the site appears to have been called Amarynthos. A clay tablet found in the...

Day #16 of the Top 50 songs on my iTunes playlist -- ranked in reverse order by play frequency from #50 to #1 and presented here on a series of FR threads. I'm posting them here on a new thread that compiles the growing list one day at a time over the next couple of months. I only post them on weekdays and may miss a day or two here and there, so it will take at least ten weeks to do this. And to show my gratitude to the FR management for giving us all a forum to post...

Atheism is the absence or rejection of belief in deities. That definition makes it easy to understand an atheist thinking. What is difficult to understand about atheist thinking is their position on creation. I know neither the atheist nor the believer can refute the self-evident fact that we are part of a creation. Any discussion that begins in agreement stands a chance of progressing. What issues arise after we agree there was a creation? Why was there a creation? When was there a creation? Where was there a creation? The spine-tingling question when you put the issues together in a...

Users of Amazon's cloud-based Alexa voice service are receiving distinctly different answers regarding who they should vote for. When users asked Alexa "why should I vote for Kamala Harris," they were told "while there are many reasons to vote for Kamala Harris, the most significant may be that she is a woman of color who has overcome numerous obstacles to become a leader in her field. Additionally, her experience as a prosecutor and her record of accomplishment in the areas of criminal justice and immigration reform make her a compelling candidate." When users asked Alexa "why should I vote for...

Artist’s impression of the white dwearf star WD1054–226 orbited by clouds of planetary debris and a major planet in the habitable zone. Credit: Mark A. Garlick / markgarlick.com. ============================================================================== The lifespan of the Sun is 12.3 billion years. This is 1.5 billion years shorter than the age of the Universe, 13.8 billion years. If the Sun happened to be born in the first 1.5 billion years of cosmic history, or equivalently at a cosmological redshift above 4 when the first several percent of all stars formed, then it would have turned into a white dwarf by now. There are about...

SAN ANTONIO - Two teenagers were arrested in connection with several shootings recently around Joint Base San Antonio where several suspects fired numerous rounds at Air Force Security personnel at the gate. Gov. Andrew Cuomo allegedly himself “edited” a state report that deflated New York’s COVID-19 death toll in nursing homes — which his top aides pressured health officials into releasing, despite knowing the issue would turn into a “great debacle,” according to the stunning results of an investigation by a US House committee. Cuomo “absolutely” signed off on the disastrous directive early in the pandemic forcing coronavirus patients back into nursing homes — leading to as many as 9,000 excess COVID deaths — the final congressional report and witness testimonies exclusively obtained by The Post show. The House Select Subcommittee on...

The Slovak Spectator reports that a 5,000-year-old skeleton has been unearthed in eastern Slovakia by researchers from the Slovak Academy of Sciences and the Polish Academy of Sciences. The skeleton belonged to a young man of the Indo-European Pit Grave culture who died between the ages of 16 and 18. The grave was found in the center of a burial mound with a 72-foot diameter, surrounded by a channel measuring more than 12 feet wide. The remains of a charred wooden structure that once covered the grave pit were also identified, said Eva Horváthová of the Slovak Academy of Sciences....

In a revealing interview on "Meet the Press" on Sunday, Senator Bernie Sanders (S-Vt.) said the quiet part out loud, proving what many conservatives have been saying for weeks now: Kamala Harris’s sudden attempt to shift toward the center is nothing more than a political charade to win votes, not a genuine change of ideology. When pressed by host Kristen Welker on Harris’s reversal of key progressive positions—like her prior support for Medicare for All and a ban on fracking—Sanders’s response said it all. Welker asked Sanders directly if Harris was abandoning her progressive ideals, noting that these were issues...

There are two Kamalas: one real and one fake. Like many politicians, Kamala Devi Harris created a character and a familiar narrative of an underprivileged childhood (“that little girl was me”), a middle-class family “(I grew up in a middle-class household”) and then going into politics not for personal gain, but to help people (“to aspire to create wealth is a good thing as far as I’m concerned. If that is what one chooses. I, on the other hand, have chosen to live a life of public service.”) Unfortunately none of it is true. The truth was that Kamala was...

Kamala Harris is running as a prosecutor, but a lot of her old friends are in prison. Having the FBI knock on your door was an occupational hazard in Kamala’s San Francisco circles where her boyfriend, future Mayor Willie Brown, took her to Nob Hill parties by night, and by day appointed her to boards where she earned hundreds of thousands for showing up. But the biggest favor Willie did for Kamala wasn’t buying her a BMW, flying her to New York City on Trump’s plane, or accompanying him to the Oscars: it was buying her a political career. A...

Algerian election officials on Sunday declared incumbent President Abulmadjid Tebboune the winner of a dubious election with 95 percent of the vote. Opposition politicians denounced the election as a “farce” and accused Tebboune of stuffing the ballot boxes to avoid a runoff election. Tebboune actually joined the opposition to complain about election irregularities, noting that the results announced by election officials were significantly different from local vote tallies and far exceeded turnout figures.

On a few acres in central Wyoming, a car restoration enthusiast has a large collection of wrecks and rusted vintage autos. He hopes to turn the space into a ‘Disneyland’ for car enthusiasts who want to get their hands dirty. A 1960 Chevy Impala without door posts between windows is one of the treasures owned by Steven Murphy. (Dale Killingbeck, Cowboy State Daily) ========================================================================== On a couple of acres in the middle of Wyoming, it does not take a lot of imagination to envision a popular kids movie about vintage cars come to life before your eyes. Inside a fence...
