The threat of nuclear war is much more a concern today than in 1964. Would suburban moms get it? Someone needs to speak out about the danger now.

After a year of legal, judicial, and political drama, Special Counsel Jack Smith just filed a superseding indictment to replace the first indictment he handed down against Donald Trump in August 2023 related to the events of January 6 and the former president’s alleged attempts to “overturn” the 2020 election. Trump faces the four same charges—three conspiracy and one obstruction count—but the new version is nine pages shorter as Smith had to follow the presidential immunity guidance set forth by the Supreme Court in the Trump v US opinion published on July 1. The special counsel removed a large swath...

Billionaire Bill Gates is suing Florida after Governor Ron DeSantis issued a complete ban on his lab-grown meat, arguing that the new law violates his constitutional rights. DeSantis signed the ban on fake meat into law in May. The Florida Governor described the new law as a way of “fighting back against the global elite’s plan to force the world to eat meat grown in a petri dish or bugs to achieve their authoritarian goals.”

First, where is Joe Biden? And second, who is running the country at the moment? The subject arose because people have been looking at the President's schedule as published by the White House. Normally that schedule is sparse with a very early lid on the best of days. But now it's absolutely empty. Biden just came back from a one week vacation in California, but he headed immediately to his mansions in Delaware for another two weeks of rest and relaxation. There is nothing on the schedule after the President's daily briefing each morning and we're not entirely sure that...

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem (8/29/24)[Prayer]Names and Titles of God the Holy Spirit (The Spirit of the Lord/ The Rock of Israel) 2 Samuel 23:1-323 Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said, 2 The Spirit of the Lord spake by me, and his word was in my tongue. 3 The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just,...

The City of San Francisco, where Vice President Kamala Harris started her political career, is set to evaluate roughly 100 monuments to determine whether they should be removed or replaced. The San Francisco Chronicle reported: San Francisco is about to embark on evaluating its nearly 100 statues and monuments to figure out which ones no longer represent the city’s values and should be removed from view, relocated or re-interpreted with explanatory plaques. The debate over the city’s monuments began in 2018 with the removal of the “Early Days” sculpture from the Pioneer Monument in the Civic Center because it represented...

While the Trump campaign, Republican National Committee, Republican governors and Republican lawmakers on Capitol Hill work to keep illegal immigrants and non-citizens from voting in U.S. elections, Democrats are fighting against their efforts and threatening to shut down the government over voter integrity legislation. ... America needs the SAVE Act to prevent noncitizens from voting. The arguments against including the SAVE Act in the September spending bill are weak and crumble under examination. I invite Senate GOP leadership to offer solutions, not excuses. Senate GOP leadership is apparently opposing the effort to include the SAVE Act in the September spending...

A research group in China has shown that many entangled photons can be generated inside the myelin sheath that covers nerve fibers...It could explain the rapid communication between neurons, which so far has been thought to be below the speed of sound, too slow to explain how the neural synchronization occurs.

Unchecked mass immigration has radically transformed and destabilized the author's home country; America should take heed. Close your eyes and picture Ireland. You’re probably imagining lush green fields, charming villages, and thatched cottages. Now, open your eyes and acknowledge reality. Nearly one in five people living in Ireland wasn’t born there. In Galway, a city that’s a stone’s throw from where I grew up, Muhammad recently surpassed Michael and Martin as the most popular name for newborn boys. That’s right — Muhammad, a name synonymous with Islamic tradition. This is not the Ireland you know or thought you knew. It’s...

In the fantasy of the zero-emissions electricity future, there will either be regular devastating blackouts, or something must back up the intermittent wind and solar generation. In New York we call that imaginary something the “DEFR” (Dispatchable Emissions Free Resource). But what is it? Nuclear has been blocked for decades, especially in the blue jurisdictions that are most aggressively pursuing the wind/solar future. Batteries are technologically not up to the job, and also wildly too expensive. That leaves hydrogen. Anybody with another idea, kindly speak up. I’ve had several posts discussing the question of whether hydrogen could do this job,...

For the second time in as many months, a high-powered Republican member of the Oklahoma Legislature crashed and burned on election night, an indication that infighting among the GOP is increasing and the party's far right-wing is now a major voice in state elections. The defeat of state Rep. Kevin Wallace, chairman of the powerful House Appropriations and Budget Committee, comes after Ada voters ousted state Sen. Greg McCortney, who had been tapped to be the next leader of the Oklahoma Senate. Both men had plenty of campaign funds, were well organized and held high profile positions that kept their...

Iran sells its oil to China at the lowest price compared to other countries. The main reason China buys Iranian oil is its low cost. Due to sanctions, Iran has to sell its oil cheaply to attract buyers. Malaysia is now important in Iran’s secret oil sales to China. China knows the risks of buying sanctioned oil, so it uses smaller banks with little international activity to avoid major banks. According to Vortexa Energy flow Analytic, a tanker tracking company, Iran’s daily oil and gas condensate exports have remained steady at around 1.7 million barrels in recent months. Currently, China...

A lot has changed. The Democratic Party has evolved from the party of the working man to the party of the man who thinks he’s a woman. It is now funded by billionaires and Wall Street, and in that regard anyway, they are now everything they used to accuse Republicans of being. snip Uncle Teddy Kennedy was notorious for his drunken womanizing. Where John and Bobby kept their exploits behind the scenes (and their wives didn’t seem to mind, as long as they weren’t embarrassed publicly), Ted flaunted his excesses. According to eyewitnesses, he and another drunken Democratic senator assaulted...

President Joe Biden is well positioned to finish his presidency having placed more judges on the federal bench than former President Donald Trump. But the Democrat will not be able to replicate Trump’s transformation of the appellate courts that hand down the most influential rulings. Trump, the Republican presidential nominee again this year, was especially successful in flipping seats previously occupied by liberal or moderate judges on appellate courts and the US Supreme Court to those held by hardline conservatives. That’s made the federal judiciary friendly legal territory to conservative litigants who have secured court orders applying to large swaths...

After a surge in home energy bills that left many New Jersey residents with costs that have doubled, or more, there have been widespread calls for hearings to hold the state utility commission, the governor and supporters of green energy accountable. State Sen. Mike Testa, R-Salem, echoed those calls and said on Wednesday that much of the blame goes to Democrat Gov. Phil Murphy’s "Energy Master Plan," launched in 2020. "New Jersey is already one of the most unaffordable states in the United States of America. Now people are being hit with energy bills that are essentially doubled. And look,...

Russian troops advanced into the village of Novohrodivka in eastern Ukraine on Wednesday. That puts them within five miles of Pokrovsk, a main objective of Russia’s nearly yearlong eastern offensive. The Ukrainian military doesn’t have many extra troops to deploy to the Pokrovsk front. Many of the spare brigades it had a month ago are now participating in Ukraine’s surprise invasion of Russia’s Kursk Oblast. Ukrainian leaders are finally beginning to grasp the urgency of the balance of forces on the Pokrovsk axis. “The situation is extremely difficult,” Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky conceded on Wednesday.

Joe Biden was sunning himself at his Rehoboth Beach house and Kamala Harris was holed away with staff in Washington this week on the third anniversary of their disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal. Only Donald Trump bothered to show up to the wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery for the Gold Star families of the 13 service members killed by a suicide bomber in the chaotic evacuation from Kabul. For a man damned as an unfeeling monster by Democrats, Trump always manages to outshine Biden and Harris in the empathy stakes, whether he is meeting victims of a toxic train derailment in...
