When Dylann Roof shot and killed nine people attending a Wednesday night Bible study in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2015, there were two causes for shock. Roof’s heinous act was the obvious one. The other was forgiveness. Within days of the murders, Nadine Collier looked into the face of her mother’s killer at Roof’s bond hearing and said through tears, You took something very precious away from me. I will never talk to her ever again. I will never be able to hold her again. But I forgive you. And have mercy on your soul. Collier’s words, along with those...

Early in the pandemic, a local merchant I know in New York, an immigrant who owns a small stationary store, worked tirelessly to obtain the goods his customers all then believed were needed—masks, hand sanitizer, and so on. He paid a markup for these goods, not to mention the time it cost him to secure them, and naturally passed the higher prices on to his customers. But given the emergency, he faced a price limit on what he could sell the masks for, with steep fines if he didn't comply. He fought these mandates in court and nearly lost his...

Officials are refusing to release autopsy records for Trump shooter Thomas Crooks, and bombshell findings from Rep. Clay Higgins, R-La., may explain why. Higgins, who’s on the House Task Force to investigate the Trump assassination attempt, issued his preliminary findings Thursday, telling the public that the FBI released Crooks’s body to his family for cremation before he could examine it. Higgins, a former law enforcement officer, also said the FBI scrubbed the crime scene of biological evidence, which he said is “unheard of.” “My effort to examine Crooks’ body on Monday, August 5, caused quite a stir and revealed a...

John Solomon @jsolomonReports Secret Service to use bulletproof glass to protect Trump at outdoor rallies From justthenews.com 4:14 PM · Aug 15, 2024

The U.S. Secret Service is making arrangements for former President Donald Trump to resume outdoor campaign rallies by surrounding his podium with bulletproof glass, multiple sources told ABC News. The measure is typically used exclusively for sitting presidents, but the Secret Service is making an exception following the first attempted assassination of a presidential candidate since George Wallace in 1972. The Secret Service declined to comment on its use of ballistic glass. Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung said the campaign does not comment on security measures relating to Trump. The Secret Service recommended that Trump stop holding outdoor rallies last...

The more one digs into this whole "Tim Walz lies about his military service" issue, the more comes to light that this guy was not in the slightest bit shy about dissembling if he saw any advantage in it. In the latest spate of information, Daily Wire correspondent Bree A. Dail found an image on X (formerly Twitter) of Tim Walz's "Congressional Challenge Coin" from his time in the House of Representatives. And, yes, he portrays his former rank on the coin as Command Sergeant Major (CSM.) This just keeps getting better and better. Remember that Walz was only "frocked"...

Ukraine has offered to help Russians evacuating from the country's embattled border regions, which have been embroiled in armed hostilities since Kyiv's surprise incursion onto Russian soil began last week. In a Telegram post on Wednesday evening, Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk said: "Due to the possible deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the adjacent territories of the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, Ukraine must be ready to receive Russian refugees." Vereshchuk, who also serves as minister of reintegration for the areas under Russian occupation, announced that her ministry had opened a "24-hour hotline" for residents of Kursk...

Is America a Christian Nation or Was America Founded as a Christian country?I see this question often and the spirited arguments and debates that followed caused me to assert that America was founded on Christian principles.

“The goal of Socialism is Communism.” - Valdimir Lenin All we had to do was sit back and wait. Kamala Harris's a first quasi-solid policy proposal was plagiarized directly from Donald Trump. It was Trump's proposal to end taxes on tips. Then Harris decided that she thought of it. Now we have her first real policy and it's everything you'd expect from her. She needed a villain - it's the food industry- and she has decided on a plan to slay the demon. She will lower your food costs by making food disappear. Vice President Harris on Friday will outline...

The Idaho Supreme Court has issued an opinion that dismisses Attorney General Raul Labrador’s lawsuit against the Prop 1 ballot initiative. If enacted this November, the Prop 1 initiative would implement a “Top Four” primary process and change the general election process to Ranked-Choice Voting. Labrador, in his lawsuit, said the initiative’s organizers gathered signatures fraudulently and that the initiative violated Idaho’s “one subject” rule for initiatives. A summary of the opinion states that the lawsuit was dismissed on procedural grounds. Here is the summary, which is from court staff and not direct quotes from the opinion itself: “Today the...

Several gun shops in Twin Falls are alleging that the Twin Falls Police Department is maintaining a form of “gun registration” and that the police are trying to force them into the program under the threat of law. Idaho Dispatch sat down with the owners of Quick Response Firearms (Tara and Daniel Corsini) and Homestead Tactical (Joshua Van Dyke), both located in Twin Falls. Both shops say TFPD is trying to force them to use a program called “LeadsOnline.” They claim the program not only acts as a de facto “gun registration program” because it requires personal information about the...

What Can We Learn from Hugo Klapproth: the Sola Scriptura Doctrine is Wrong The publication of Hugo Klapproth’s work, Letters to a Protestant Friend (The Remnant Press, 2022), represents an editorial event that can help us acquire a deep understanding of the mentality and constellation of values of a pre-conciliar Catholic. And not just any Catholic, but a convert from Lutheranism who dedicated his life to defending and transmitting the truths of Christian Revelation. Klapproth’s book is not only a highly useful read but also a source of inspiration that urges us to follow in the author’s footsteps to rediscover...
