Washington — Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance defended his comment about "childless cat ladies" on Friday as he faces backlash after his 2021 remarks recirculated this week. "Obviously, it was a sarcastic comment," he said in an interview on "The Megyn Kelly Show" on SiriusXM.... "It's just a basic fact... the entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children. And how does it make any sense that we've turned our country over to people who don't really have a direct stake in it?"... Vance reiterated Friday that "it's not a criticism of people who don't have...

Scientists are urging the public to help track a declining UK butterfly population as they discover many species are migrating northwards because of climate change. The Big Butterfly Count is an annual survey led by wildlife charity Butterfly Conservation. Participants have just one week left to take part as the spotting season ends on 4 August. The survey asks people to spend 15 minutes in a sunny area and record the number and types of butterflies that they see, as researchers have identified changes to the way they're migrating across the country. "Butterflies are really temperature sensitive. They love the...

Vice President Kamala Harris’ past is going to thoroughly haunt her up to November’s General Election should she officially secure the Democratic Party’s nomination for the presidency. While her campaign team would desperately like you to see her as the preferable alternative to former President Donald Trump, there is simply too much evidence to the contrary floating around the internet.

It began relatively calmly, with Eugene Daniels sounding more like a Kamala campaign adviser than a Politico "journalist"--and new president of the White House Correspondents Association. But things quickly dialed up to 11 when Tara Setmayer took over. Setmayer is an MSNBC commentator, a member of the disgraced Lincoln Project, and co-founder of The Seneca Project, whose mission is to turn out women voters for Kamala in the swing states. Reacting to Trump having called Kamala a "bum" [not my kind of wording, admittedly], Setmayer spun a litany of charges against Trump, arguing that he is the real bum in...

On July 18, in Trump attempt: why didn’t they shoot?, I suggested the government, in its Secret Service (SS) pseudo-protection of Donald Trump, was creating security vulnerabilities with plausible deniability. Were those vulnerabilities due to Trump Derangement Syndrome? Were those creating them doing it purposely with the hope someone would exploit them and kill Trump? Were they simply practicing contemporary Democract/socialist/communist (D/s/c) politics, playing hardball, and doing all they could to harass and hamper Trump without necessarily hoping he’d be killed? Or was the 20-year-old a doomed patsy, manipulated from the beginning, part of an assassination plot that would allow...

The first swimming training session for triathletes in Paris has been cancelled due to levels of water pollution in the Seine. Triathletes were set to take to the river this morning for a familiarisation session but World Triathlon and the organisation responsible for carrying out water quality tests deemed the standard had dipped below acceptable levels. The Seine was declared clean enough for swimming after inspections in July but heavy rain in the French capital over the past 48 hours diminished the quality. However, organisers are hopeful there will be no further delays. A statement from Paris 2024 and World...

I am a Catholic. I am proud of that fact. I am also fervently against Kamala Harris. The Biden/Harris administration has consistently ruled against Christians. Our country is a Judeo-Christian country with morals and values that must be kept. Please join with me to put a stop to the assault against our core values. I stand strong and will do my best to prevent further degradation of our country's moral compass. I say - Catholics against Kamala!

In a statement shared with Newsweek by the IDF, spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari called it "the deadliest attack on Israeli civilians since October 7th," when a Hamas-led attack on Israel killed around 1,200 people, the majority of them civilians, according to Israeli officials. Following what the IDF called a "situational assessment and the intelligence in our possession," the Israeli military stated that "the rocket launch toward Majdal Shams was carried out by the Hezbollah terrorist organization." The group, however, denied any role in the attack. "The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon categorically denies allegations made by some 'Israeli' media outlets...

The UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, and UNIFIL Head of Mission and Force Commander, Lt. Gen. Aroldo Lázaro, on Saturday night called for “maximum restraint” between Israel and Lebanon following the rocket attack on Majdal Shams which killed 12 people. “We deplore the death of civilians - young children and teenagers - in Majdal Shams. Civilians must be protected at all times,” the two said in a statement. “We urge the parties to exercise maximum restraint and to put a stop to the ongoing intensified exchanges of fire. It could ignite a wider conflagration that would engulf the...

The opener was loathesome. Are Le French bored with the Olympics already? You know, like the little disgruntled Frenchman at the cafe in the 1994 DHL ad, complaining about le bourgeois businessmen waiting for their packages and saying they can wait? You'd almost think so given the strange ennui and decadence seen in the opening ceremony. Their opener was loaded with offensive and irrelevant distractions at the expense of its athletic purpose, making one wonder if they were interested in the Olympics at all. There was of course the blasphemous woke section featuring drag queens led by a morbidly obese...

Bernie Sanders has issued a stark warning to Democratic nominee hopeful Kamala Harris that she needs to battle economic inequality or face losing the election. The 82-year-old Independent addressed 250 supporters during a town hall meeting on Friday afternoon about what he believes to be the biggest problems in America. After an audience member at the event chimed in that the biggest problem was economic inequality, he spoke at length over its far-reaching implications. He told the crowd: 'Discrepancies between rich and poor, income and wealth inequality. I happen to tend to agree.' Speaking with The Boston Globe after delivering...

Once again, the Democrats are offering up a woman candidate for president. And once again it is an unlikeable candidate who owes her career to a far more skillful male politician. In Hillary’s case, it is her husband Bill, a charismatic personality adept at the game. In Harris’ case, it was her lover Willie Brown who boosted her up the ladder and showered her with expensive gifts. To say that Kamala Harris had an affair with a man more than twice her age, leveraged his fundraising prowess and connections to launch her political career, and once in office did his...

“For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 1:8). If you are a Christian, your life will produce spiritual fruit. If you want to enjoy assurance of salvation in all its richness, you need to faithfully pursue all the virtues we have been studying this past week. The reason is simple—they produce fruit in the Christian life, and nothing is a better indicator of true salvation than that. It was the criterion Christ used to distinguish between the true and false...

Coco Gauff revealed she's the only member of the American women's tennis team still staying in the Olympic Village after her teammates fled to a hotel. The 20-year-old posted a candid TikTok video on Saturday, exposing the conditions the athletes are subjected to inside the brand new $1.6 billion facility, including 10 women sharing just two bathrooms. The chaotic clip showed several members of Team USA doing their hair, makeup and getting dressed ahead of the first day of events at the 2024 Paris Games. '10 girls, two bathrooms #olympicvillage,' she wrote over the post, leading many to comment on...
