Allendale United Methodist Church is one the most progressive we’ve ever seen. Led by Rev. Andy Oliver, his congregation is “committed to anti-racism and radical solidarity with folx on the margin,” while he himself is “grounded in liberation theology and following Jesus” while being “a community organizer who always located himself with the oppressed.” When they’re not having drag-queen-led worship services, Easter services, monthly drag-led bingo, or selling merch featuring Jesus as a drag queen, they’re preaching cringe sermons that give trigger warnings for “violent” bible verses, reassuring congregants that if the scripture is too triggering, people can leave, all...

The leadership team of Lexington City Church (LexCity) in Lexington, Kentucky, announced July 10 that it will be closing its doors. The church posted a statement on its website. “Through thoughtful prayer and heartfelt tears, the leadership team of Lexington City Church has voted to permanently cease our ministry,” it reads. “Due to the continued effects of the financial situation our church inherited several years ago and the impact of the ongoing investigation of a former staff member, we have lost the ability to remain financially viable and fulfill our God-given mission.” The investigation refers to alleged actions of the...

Neigh-sayers galloped outside Manhattan Criminal Court Monday afternoon to call for a shutdown of the city’s carriage horse industry as a handler of a horse that died two years ago faced his first day of trial — or so they thought. Ian McKeever, who is facing animal abuse charges in connection to the death of his carriage horse Ryder in 2022, was not able to appear in court Monday due to a scheduling conflict with his attorney, The Post learned. Despite the adjournment, roughly 30 demonstrators remained in the scorching heat for the “Criminal Horse Abuse Trial for Ian McKeever”...

The Department of Homeland Security has opened an investigation after the Secret Service catastrophically failed to protect former President Donald Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania last weekend. Trump narrowly escaped death after a bullet went through his ear while he was speaking at a lectern. The shooter was positioned on an unsecured roof just 140 yards away from the stage. The DHS Inspector General has also opened an investigation. Republicans and Democrats on Capitol Hill have also launched separate investigations and have called on Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to testify on Monday, July 22. According to House...

NATIONAL PEACH ICE CREAM DAY National Peach Ice Cream Day on July 17 sweetens the day with a few scoops at the peak of peach season. Since peaches begin peaking in July, this celebration comes just in time. Plus, it also lands right in the middle of National Ice Cream Month. #PeachIceCreamDay So, it's an excellent time to add peach ice cream to the growing list of flavors to choose from when it comes to frozen, creamy treats. Generally speaking, there are two types of peaches - freestone and clingstone. The difference has to do with how the flesh comes...

In the aftermath of the attempted assassination of President Trump, federal law enforcement can’t figure out a motive for the shooter, and they can’t get into all the details of his phone, but they’re 100% sure that he acted alone. ..... Snip...... Another part of the story that makes no sense is that 20-year-old Thomas Crooks, who lived an hour away before he went to the rally, knew that he would need a ladder in order to scale the walls and take a shot at President Trump. According to federal authorities, Crooks stopped at Home Depot on his way to...

As the FBI continues its investigation into the shooting at the rally of former US president Donald Trump, urgent reviews of the security surrounding the event are in motion. Just how 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks managed to get onto a building with a rifle, relatively close and with a clear view of Trump is one of the key questions being asked of the Secret Service. Another is why buildings less than 150 metres from the former president were not secured. To get a better understanding of what took place at the rally in the Butler Farm Showgrounds and its surrounds,...

Television personality and investor Mark Cuban said Wednesday that Silicon Valley’s recent wave of support for former President Trump could be a “play” to boost bitcoin. Cuban, the pro-crypto billionaire who has backed President Biden’s bid for reelection, argued that the potential inflationary impacts of lower taxes and higher tariffs under a second Trump presidency could drive up the price of bitcoin. “Here is a contrary opinion on the emergence of Silicon Valley support for former President Trump. Which like all my opinions on here, probably won’t be popular,” Cuban wrote in a post on the social platform X. “It’s...

“You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right?” Clinton said. “The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic—you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up.”

In the aftermath of the attempted assassination of President Trump, federal law enforcement can’t figure out a motive for the shooter, and they can’t get into all the details of his phone, but they’re 100% sure that he acted alone. What does not make sense is how a 20-year-old nursing home food attendant managed to find one spot with a direct line of sight to President Trump and how Thomas Crooks managed to know of all the ongoing security lapses and failures that day, including the reassignment of the Secret Service to Jill Biden, who had a function in Pittsburgh...

Rep. Adam Schiff on Wednesday became the most prominent elected Democrat to publicly call on President Joe Biden to drop out the race. “While the choice to withdraw from the campaign is President Biden’s alone, I believe it is time for him to pass the torch. And in doing so, secure his legacy of leadership by allowing us to defeat Donald Trump in the upcoming election,” Schiff said in a statement. This story is breaking and will be updated.

I've long used Norton Anti-Virus (I think they used to be called Symantec). But I think it's a memory hog. Sometimes it seems to use all available CPU. When I do a video screen capture on a movie that I'm playing, the movie records all jittery, full of pauses. I Disable Norton's Auto-Protect, but that doesn't help. I wonder if Norton is obeying me?Norton foisted a VPN onto my computer. I tried it several times, but it never works, never makes a connection. Only tells me to try later. When I renewed last year, I checked a box to not renew...
