Singaporean comedian Kumar revealed he considered gender reassignment when he was younger in the latest episode of The Daily Ketchup Podcast published yesterday (July 8). The 55-year-old, who is promoting his upcoming comedy show Kumar Uncut, was asked if he had ever wanted to be a female. "Yes, when I was very young. But I changed my mind," he admitted candidly. When asked to elaborate, Kumar shared that if he had gone through the process then, he wouldn't have been who he is now. "I would've gone to the streets, I would've ended up being a prostitute," he said. Kumar...

In Britain’s general election late last week, four “pro-Palestinian” independent candidates got elected for the first time to the British parliament. They had been prominently backed by a network of Islamic political activists, but their celebrations soon turned sour. Anti-Israel candidates in two further constituencies with sizable Muslim populations, Birmingham Yardley and Ilford North, missed out on victory by just a few hundred votes. The story behind these two electoral defeats may well be that of the most spectacular own goal in the history of Islamist political activism in Britain. Some hardcore Islamist fundamentalists believe that voting in western democracies...

ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos admitted Tuesday that he does not believe President Biden can serve out a second term — days after conducting a closely watched interview with the commander-in-chief following his disastrous debate performance against Donald Trump last month. Stephanopoulos, 63, was recorded by TMZ answering a question from a passer-by in midtown Manhattan about Biden’s political future. “Do you think Biden should step down?” the anonymous interrogator asked the “Good Morning America” co-host and “This Week” moderator. “You’ve talked to him more than anybody else has lately.”

Wind is quietly blowing away coal, when it comes to supplying electricity in the US.In April, wind power generated more electricity than coal for the second month in a row, according to the latest available data from the Energy Information Administration. Wind briefly surpassed coal once before in April last year, but this time it’s by a much larger margin and for two consecutive months. Renewable energy production has been ticking up for years but only recently have fuels like wind and solar approached the ballpark of fossil fuels and nuclear power. Last year renewables made up 21% of electricity...

While First Lady Jill Biden was wrapping up a three-state tour Monday night, her predecessor Melania Trump made her first public appearance in a while, hosting a GOP fundraiser in New York. While it’s no secret that political wives can help reel in or repeal voters — sometimes in equal measures — the current and previous first ladies understand the power of a photo op. While Biden was all business during her three-state trip, Trump maximized the glam factor wearing a red Valentino dress with red Jimmy Choo stilettos. The frock was a repeat outfit for the former model, who...

The president of Poland on Tuesday sharply rejected any cease-fire deal for the Ukraine war that would require Kyiv to cede territory to Moscow — drawing a clear line in the sand at a moment when China, fellow NATO ally Hungary and some leading American politicians are growing louder in their calls for a rapid negotiated end to the conflict. Polish President Andrzej Duda, whose nation is the most powerful NATO member state bordering Ukraine, stood firm on the issue in a wide-ranging exclusive interview with The Washington Times, just as a key summit of NATO leaders got underway in...

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre affirmed that President Biden plans to serve out a full second term if he wins on Nov. 5 and shrugged off concerns about him handling a hypothetical nuclear attack on the country after 8 p.m. Last week during a private meeting with Democratic governors, Biden, 81, informed them that he’s asked his team to refrain from scheduling events after 8 p.m., the Washington Post reported. The president’s apparent curfew became the source of questioning at Tuesday’s White House press briefing. “He also said he’s sharpest before 8 p.m. So, say that the Pentagon at...

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has a new plan to ensure Donald Trump spends the rest of his days in prison. Amid the battle over Joe Biden's senility among Democrats, Schumer moved to a different topic, pledging to legislatively declare Trump's actions surrounding January 6th as "unofficial." That comes after the Supreme Court delivered a mixed opinion on the matter in late June, stating that "official" acts are indeed subject to presidential immunity while "unofficial" acts are not. That set up a long legal battle whereby the special counsel prosecuting Trump must litigate each action to determine what category they...

Gen Xers are edging closer to retirement age and realizing that their 401(K) won't go the distance, an alarming report shows. A survey reveals that 55-year-old Americans have typically saved less than $50,000 for their pension — far below the $446,565 that's recommended at this stage. Nearly a quarter of them expect to be cash-strapped and plan to turn to their children for support. More than a fifth said they'd likely need to move in to their kids' spare room or basement as a 'silver squatter.' Prudential, a finance group, surveyed the oldest members of Generation X, or people born...

The Supreme Court’s decision on Friday in Fischer v. U.S. struck down one of the most common charges against January 6 defendants. “Obstruction of an official proceeding” had been used in hundreds of cases, and those convictions are now invalid. But the biggest impact of the decision may occur elsewhere. For years, calling January 6 an “insurrection” has been a litmus test for press, pundits and politicians. Members of Congress such as Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) claimed a conspiracy of “armed and organized insurrectionists.” The claim is legally absurd but politically advantageous. It now seems like the insurrection increasingly looks more...

Sens. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) and Ron Wyden (D-OR) are calling on Attorney General Merrick Garland to appoint a special counsel to determine if Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas violated federal ethics and tax laws. In the letter sent to Garland last week, the senators point to news reports revealing that Thomas did not disclose luxury trips or gifts over the past 20 years. Whitehouse and Wyden suggested that Thomas could be in violation of the Ethics in Government Act, which criminalizes a public servant for “knowingly and willfully” failing to file or report gifts and income from outside sources. “The...

The Justice Department said Tuesday it had uncovered and dismantled a Russian propaganda network with nearly 1,000 accounts pushing pro-Russia posts on the social media platform X. The accounts on X posed as Americans, including a bitcoin investor in Minneapolis, but in reality they were masks for Russian operatives who had the approval and financial support of the Kremlin, the Justice Department said in court affidavits and in a news release. The Russian operatives made the fictitious accounts with the help of artificial intelligence, which made it easier to produce images and generate text, the department said.

Let’s jump the gun on far-white populist nationalism and ask the big question. How should the rising populists, from Hungary to the U.S. to Britain to France, govern? The question becomes urgent now that our Democratic friends are sounding the klaxon over the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025. Spencer Chretien announced Project 2025 in January 2023, over a year ago. It’s a libertarian-conservative wishlist that, I assume, Heritage has been doing every four years since whenever. In response, President Trump has come out and done his Sgt. Schultz act: “I know nothing about Project 2025.” Of course not. Heritage wants to fundamentally transform...

Extensive delays to the mid-life refueling and complex overhauls of two nuclear-powered aircraft carriers were due to damage to the steam turbines that power the ship, USNI News has learned. According to Naval Sea Systems Command, “significant damage” to the generators aboard both USS George Washington (CVN-73) and USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74) added unplanned work that was discovered after both carriers arrived at HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding for maintenance. Every mid-life refueling and overhaul, “work package has planned inspections and routine refurbishment of the eight [turbine generators]; however, inspections for both George Washington and John C. Stennis revealed one...

He has continued to post and repost comments on...

It didn’t work. Joe Biden’s friendly 22-minute interview with George Stephanopolous did little to nothing to quell the calls from Democrats that Biden should drop out of the race for U.S. president. This should come as no surprise. For anyone who was willing to see it, it has been quite obvious that Joe Biden has been in a frail and declining mental and physical state for years now. This was clear well prior to the 2020 election. The Trump campaign ran an ad in August of 2020 that highlighted Biden’s mental decline. No doubt this is one of the reasons why...

Despite all the recent talk about “our democracy,” the United States today is not a democracy. This is easy to understand. The concept of democracy says that the people governed are the government. In a large civilization, this means not a direct democracy but a representative democracy, which sees the people’s elected representatives make the laws. Today, though, most of the “laws” that govern the people do not come from their elected representatives. Instead, executive branch agencies promulgate them contrary to Article I of the US Constitution. That provides “All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress...

The Republican National Committee (RNC) recently adopted a new platform, softening its stance on abortion and same-sex marriage. This shift, announced by former President Donald Trump, predictably, has sparked a mix of reactions within the party and among its supporters. The new platform, approved by the RNC panel, reflects Trump’s broader policy agenda and aims to reshape the party as he makes his third bid for the White House. The platform’s language on abortion now mirrors Trump’s post-Roe v. Wade stance, emphasizing that restrictions should be left to the states. This approach aligns with the Supreme Court’s decision that states have...
