CHICAGO -- At least 31 people have been shot, three fatally, in gun violence across Chicago so far this weekend, police said. On Friday night, two teens and a 12-year-old boy were wounded in a pair of shootings in Douglas. The first shooting happened about 9:20 p.m. in the 500 block of East 31st Street. Someone in a silver sedan opened fire, striking the 12-year-old walking with a group of people and a 15-year-old girl sitting in a car, Chicago police said. A 16-year-old boy was shot less than an hour later and about a half-mile away. He was standing...

The special prosecutor’s overreach and the trial judge’s open bias are equally disturbing. Just when you thought the “swamp” judicial system could sink no lower, an Elon Musk-X petition to the Supreme Court reminds us about Jack Smith’s and a leftist judge’s complete disrespect for Americans’ constitutional freedom from intrusive government searches. The information emerges in X Corp.’s petition for a writ of certiorari relating to a court order arising from a search warrant that special counsel, Mr. Jack Smith (yes, that one), served on X demanding data and records from former President Donald Trump’s Twitter account. The problem from...

Some social media users are questioning AI — Ashton’s intelligence. “That ’70s Show” actor Ashton Kutcher got a walloping on X, the platform formally known as Twitter, after he appeared to endorse artificial intelligence as an innovative — and cheaper — tool for moviemaking. During a chat with former Google CEO Eric Schmidt in Los Angeles, Kutcher sang the praises of Sora, OpenAI’s generative video tool, Variety reported. “I have a beta version of it and it’s pretty amazing,” Kutcher, 46, said. “You can generate any footage that you want. You can create good 10-, 15-second videos that look very...

Since October 7, Hamas has had the choice to return the hostages and end the war. It refused, and now its supporters are horrified that Hamas and Co. are paying a price. Since October 7, Hamas has had the choice to return the hostages and end the war. It refused, and now its supporters are horrified that Hamas members, both in uniform and civilians. are paying a price. In 2005, Israel withdrew from Gaza, leaving the region Judenrein (“Jew free,” as the Nazis liked to say) and without an Israeli military presence. There was no occupation. Gazans promptly—and overwhelmingly—elected Hamas,...

Ukrainian forces have damaged an advanced Russian Su-57 jet hundreds of miles away from the front lines inside Moscow's internationally recognized territory, Kyiv's military spy agency said on Sunday, adding this is the "first such case in history." An Su-57 jet was struck on Saturday at the Akhtubinsk airfield, in the southern Russian republic of Astrakhan, Kyiv's GUR military intelligence agency said in a statement. The site is around 365 miles from the current front lines in eastern Ukraine, according to the GUR. Based on the information available, the doctor probably didn’t do anything wrong, but that’s irrelevant when you’re terrorizing political opponents. Two years ago, Texas Children’s Hospital (“TCH”) publicly announced that it would no longer use drugs and hormones and mutilating surgery to “transform” kids into broken simulacrums of the opposite sex. Dr. Eithan Haim, a surgeon, exposed that as a lie. Now, via some serious FBI intimidation, Dr. Haim finds himself facing four felony charges that could lead to ten years in prison. Reviewing the regulations he is alleged to have violated, though, indicates that this is Stasi-like terrorism, not...

Are you facing trouble in your business or career? As you read the following verses, be reminded that career people here are likened to seamen in ships. The great waters signify the big world of competition, an ocean of activity. “Those who go down to the sea in ships, who do business on great waters, they see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep. For he commands and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up the waves of the sea. . . Their soul melts because of trouble. They reel to and fro, and stagger like...

“As for [Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego], God gave them knowledge and intelligence in every branch of literature and wisdom; Daniel even understood all kinds of visions and dreams” (Daniel 1:17). Godly wisdom guards against the influences of a godless society. From the beginning of human history Satan has tried to confuse and confound God’s purposes by corrupting man’s thinking. In the Garden of Eden he succeeded by calling God’s character into question and convincing Eve that her disobedience would have no consequences. To this day he continues to deceive entire civilizations by blinding “the minds of the unbelieving, that...

Four innocent hostages brought home, and a legal blow against presumptuous government action. In a daring feat masterfully executed, the Israeli Defense Force rescued four of the hostages in Gaza. Most touching of all was the rescue of Noa Argamani, whose mother is dying of brain cancer, who had prayed she’d be reunited with her daughter before she died. The hostages had been held by private citizens in two separate apartments 200 feet apart within the central market of Nuseirat in Gaza and the rescuers had to stage a difficult simultaneous operation to free them. They operated under heavy fire...

Horses were domesticated at least twice, researchers report June 6 in Nature. Genetic data suggest Botai hunter-gatherers in Central Asia may have been the first to domesticate the animals for milk and meat around 5,000 years ago. That attempt didn't stick. But other people living north of the Caucasian Mountains domesticated horses for transportation about 4,200 years ago, the researchers found. Those latter horses took the equine world by storm. In just a few centuries, they replaced their wild cousins and became the modern domestic horse...ancient people from southwest Asia known as the Yamnaya have been credited with being the first...

Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones has moved to liquidate his personal assets in order to pay the $1.5 billion he owes the families of Sandy Hook massacre victims, who say they were harassed by Jones’ followers who believed his lies that the 2012 school shooting was a hoax. Jones asked a judge to convert his bankruptcy to a Chapter 7 liquidation, relinquishing his desperate effort to save InfoWars, the conspiracy platform from which he regularly spewed baseless claims. Last weekend, he blubbered on air that he was being “targeted for abuse” by “deep state” actors who wanted to shut down his...

WASHINGTON — Like every other Kentucky Republican on Capitol Hill, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., criticized the New York criminal case that ended in a guilty verdict for former President Donald Trump. Paul posted on social media, “This verdict will tragically undermine Americans’ confidence in impartial justice. A sad day for America.” Yet unlike Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and most of the commonwealth’s Republican congressmen, Paul said he has not yet decided whether to endorse Trump. “I think that it’s important that if he wants to get my vote and my support and wants me to be more active...

San Francisco opened its first $5.5 million free food “market”, where approved residents can show a benefits eligibility card, put what they want in their carts, check out to keep track of outgoing inventory, and leave without paying. The Bayview-Hunters Point facility aims to be a food pantry alternative that replicates the supermarket experience in an area where many grocery stores have come but few have remained due to high crime.
