(Song opens in new window)Let Erin remember the days of old, Ere her faithless sons betrayed her. When Malachi wore the collar of gold, Which he won from her proud invader, When her kings with standards of green unfurled Led the Red-Branch Knights to danger, Ere the emerald gem of the western world, was set in the crown of a stranger. On Lough Neagh's bank as the fisherman strays When the clear cold eve's declining, He sees the round towers of other days, In the wave beneath him shining. Thus shall memory often in dreams sublime, Catch a glimpse of...

Long Beach State’s journey to an NCAA Tournament bid truly puts the madness in March. The 49ers won the Big West Conference championship game over UC Davis on Saturday, 74-70, to go dancing this March. However, it was an odd tournament berth considering head coach Dan Monson was fired just five days prior. Long Beach State made the decision to move on from Monson, but opted for him to remain in place until the end of the season. The 49ers, at 18-14, went into the Big West Conference Tournament with a five-game losing streak, so the thought was they wouldn’t...

The former elections director for a rural Arizona county who resigned last year because of a flap over the hand-counting of ballots has been elevated to a top electoral post for the state. Lisa Marra left her job in southeastern Arizona’s largely Republican Cochise County last year after she refused to follow the directives of the area’s two GOP supervisors who wanted a hand count of ballots cast in the 2022 election. Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes, a Democrat, in recent days appointed Marra as the state’s elections director. She had been a state assistant elections director since 2023....

A Lebanese migrant who was caught sneaking over the border admitted he’s a member of Hezbollah, he hoped to make a bomb, and his destination was New York, The Post can reveal. Basel Bassel Ebbadi, 22, was caught by border patrol on March 9 near El Paso, Texas. While in custody he asked what he was doing in the US, to which he replied: “I’m going to try to make a bomb,” according to a Border Patrol document exclusively obtained by The Post. In a subsequent sworn interview, Ebbadi said he had trained with Hezbollah for seven years and served...

On Friday night at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., the conservative educational foundation ISI awarded Christopher Rufo with their 2024 Conservative Book of the Year Award for his America’s Cultural Revolution: How the Radical Left Conquered Everything. Rufo’s book is certainly deserving of the honor because it gives the reader a cogent history of the main players and mechanisms by which America’s left conquered almost all our institutions. More importantly, in its closing chapters, it outlines the weaknesses of the “Revolution of 1968” and outlines some ways by which those who favor the “Revolution of 1776” can fight...

Louisiana GOP Sen. Bill Cassidy on Sunday criticized his party’s presumptive presidential nominee, saying that former President Donald Trump’s rhetoric about illegal immigrants “reflected poorly” and that he’s spoken about migrants in a “dehumanizing fashion.” Asked about Trump’s recent comments that not all undocumented immigrants are people, Cassidy told NBC News’ “Meet the Press,” “The president’s rhetoric has reflected poorly ... regarding folks who are coming here illegally — illegally — and they shouldn’t be, but in a dehumanizing fashion. And that’s why again, many people continue to have reservations.” “The best thing going for Donald Trump running for president...

The bar exam will no longer be required to become a lawyer in Washington, the state Supreme Court ruled in a pair of orders Friday. The court approved alternative ways to show competency and earn a law license after appointing a task force to examine the issue in 2020. The Bar Licensure Task Force found that the traditional exam “disproportionally and unnecessarily blocks” marginalized groups from becoming practicing attorneys and is “at best minimally effective” for ensuring competency, according to a news release from the Washington Administrative Office of the Courts. Washington is the second state to not require the...

The fabric of the cosmos, as we currently understand it, comprises three primary components: 'normal matter,' 'dark energy,' and 'dark matter.' However, new research is turning this established model on its head. A recent study conducted by the University of Ottawa presents compelling evidence that challenges the traditional model of the universe, suggesting that there may not be a place for dark matter within it. Dark matter, a term used in cosmology, refers to the elusive substance that does not interact with light or electromagnetic fields and is only identifiable through its gravitational effects. Despite its mysterious nature, dark matter...

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told his government on Sunday that international leaders who are pushing for elections in the midst of the war are trying to “paralyze the country,” forcing Israel to stop fighting and lose the war. Netanyahu did not name President Joe Biden explicitly, but spoke in the wake of Biden’s endorsement Friday of an alarming speech Thursday by U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) demanding new elections in Israel to oust Netanyahu.

Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that former President Donald Trump’s “bloodbath” comments were concerning for some voters. Saturday, at a rally in Dayton, OH, Trump said, “If you’re listening, President Xi — and you and I are friends — but he understands the way I deal. Those big monster car manufacturing plants that you’re building in Mexico right now, and you think you’re going to get that, you’re going to not hire Americans, and you’re going to sell the cars as now we’re going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that...

In 2022, Seattle's City Council passed an ordinance mandating a minimum earnings floor for app-based food delivery drivers in the city. The law finally went into effect in January 2024, but so far the main result has been customers deleting their delivery apps en masse, food orders plummeting, and driver pay cratering. The ordinance, part of a legislative package called "PayUp," was passed under the banner of protecting gig workers. By setting a compensation floor for app-based delivery drivers based on miles driven and amount of time worked, the ordinance operates as a (supremely complicated) minimum wage. The wage floor...

Oren Barnea, secretary of the Vegetable Growers Association and a member of Saad's first response team, warned on Sunday, in an interview on the Kalman Lieberman program on Kan Reshet Bet, of irreversible damage caused to the agriculture around the Gaza Strip, and told how Hamas terrorists were engaged in destroying agriculture on the morning of October 7. "We are at war and I understand that this war has had another aspect," said Barnea. "We are currently in a situation where if we do not take immediate action in next few days, there may be irreversible damage. We have to...

Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that Democrats had to win the election because former President Donald Trump was “predicting a bloodbath.” Saturday, at a rally in Dayton, OH, Trump said, “If you’re listening, President Xi — and you and I are friends — but he understands the way I deal. Those big monster car manufacturing plants that you’re building in Mexico right now, and you think you’re going to get that, you’re going to not hire Americans, and you’re going to sell the cars as now we’re going to put a 100% tariff...

Daily Readings from the USCCB“I am troubled now. Yet what should I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But it was for this purpose that I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it and will glorify it again.” John 12:27–28Our Lord’s human soul was “troubled.” Other translations state that His soul was in agony. After expressing His interior suffering, Jesus identified the human temptation caused by this suffering: to flee from His “hour.” Of course Jesus dismisses this temptation as a way of teaching us a lesson from...

Women who have a cesarean section in the late stages of labor are at increased risk of preterm birth in subsequent pregnancies. But researchers have now found a way to prevent this from happening. Their study studied 243 pregnant women who had been referred to a preterm birth surveillance clinic between January 2017 to April 2021, who had previously had a late stage C-section in the second phase of labor. The team used a validated transvaginal ultrasound technique—which they developed in 2022—to assess the position of the women's C-section scar in relation to their cervix (neck of the womb). An...

For decades, the USSR and then the Russian Federation competed with the US to dominate the global arms market. In 2023, according to SIPRI, Russia didn't even make the top five list of exporters. In this episode, I look at the evolution of Russian arms exports in 2022 and 2023, examine the drivers, and look at some of the nations (like France) that have taken market share as Russia drops.

African Americans are trailing their white counterparts in homeownership across age groups at a time when high mortgage rates, elevated prices and stifled supply has made the dream of owning a home out of reach for millions of Americans. A third of Black millennials—the age group born between 1981 to 1996—own their home compared to two-thirds of white Americans. Meanwhile, for those between 43 and 58 years old, or Gen Xers, the situation is slightly better with 52 percent of Black Americans possessing a property compared to 80 percent of their white counterparts, and for boomers, the data breaks down...
