A generation that wanted for nothing grows up to hate everything. It’s not news that children have always enjoyed rebelling against their parents. It’s hardwired in kids, maybe as an evolutionary defense mechanism so that even helicopter parents are inspired to help baby pack and get the hell out at 18. Each of the last few generations has developed its own quirky spin on the perennial teenage impulse to rebel. Millennials rebelled by delaying “adulting” as long as they could—dressing like four-year-olds as they approached 40 in cargo shorts and superhero t-shirts, chomping edibles, and channeling repressed biological instincts into...

This will shock you, I know. Well, probably not, unless you are an advocate of the whole “sanctuary” phenomenon, which is based on the idea that kindness alone will suffice to ensure that opening the doors to every Tom, Dick, and Harry will turn out well for everybody. Only 36,000 have come through the city in the past couple of years, out of the 8-12 million Biden has been letting flood through...

I have no beef with Sports Illustrated, but they made their bed when they went ‘woke’ with the transgender swimsuit edition. It was the most straightforward edition of that publication, and they ruined it. Many ‘Bud Light’ comparisons are being made because the magazine announced that virtually all staff will be fired. The revenue isn’t there to sustain the brand, so this Friday was like the Red Wedding for a lot of people (via Washington Post): Devastating news. I grew up reading SI cover to cover. It was a huge influence on me wanting to pursue a career in sports...

A speaker at the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland has called on globalist elites to push for farming to be labeled a “serious crime.” Speaking from the WEF’s summit at the luxury Swiss ski resort, “Stop Ecocide Now” founder Jojo Mehta argued that fishing and framing should be considered equal to “genocide.” Mehta insisted that fishing and farming for food should be a “serious crime” while arguing that it is immoral to make money from these industries. “We have this cultural, very ingrained habit of not taking damage to nature as seriously as we take damage...

Civilians must prepare for all-out war with Russia in the next 20 years, a top Nato military official has warned. While armed forces are primed for the outbreak of war, private citizens need to be ready for a conflict that would require wholesale change in their lives, Adml Rob Bauer said on Thursday. Large numbers of civilians will need to be mobilised in case of the outbreak of war and governments should put in place systems to manage the process, Adml Bauer told reporters after a meeting of Nato defence chiefs in Brussels. “We have to realise it’s not a...

Maine’s Democrat secretary of state, Shenna Bellows, is so determined to promote “trust in our free, safe and secure elections” that she wants to make sure voters in the state aren’t allowed to vote for the leading GOP contender, former President Donald Trump. After Trump appealed Bellows' unilateral decision to keep his name off the Republican primary ballot, Superior Court Judge Michaela Murphy called for a hold on her decision while the nation waits for the Supreme Court to weigh in on a similar situation in Colorado.Waiting for the nation’s top court to render judgment was just too inconvenient for...

More than one in every ten fatal crashes in California is a hit-and-run, according to a new study involving federal traffic data. The research, commissioned by Suzuki Law Offices, looked at National Highway Traffic Safety Administration figures between 2017 and 2021. Of the 18,137 fatal crashes in California during that period, 1,901, or 10.48%, involved drivers who fled the scene. That’s the highest total number of fatal hit-and-runs in the nation and significantly above the national rate of 6.33%, the data showed.

Dissatisfied with the poor results of its COVID-19 pandemic, scientists in China have announced the development of a new mutation (known as GX_P2V) that has achieved a 100% fatality rate among the "humanized mice" used as test subjects. Every rodent was dead within eight days of the onset of infection. China's Minister of Science and Technology Yin Hejun congratulated his staff "for this remarkable breakthrough. Instead of the largely ineffectual and minor respiratory impacts of our previous attempt our new virus actually liquefies the brain. Survival once infected is virtually impossible." Yin acknowledged that "this virus has the potential to...

Artist's concept of the SLIM landerJAXA VIEW 1 IMAGES Japan has become the fifth nation to successfully land on the Moon, but the Champagne corks aren't popping. At 10:20 am EST, the SLIM lander touched down, but the solar panels failed to engage, leaving the craft with only a few hours of battery power. Coming hard on the fiery end of America's Peregrine 1 lunar landing mission, JAXA's Smart Lander for Investigating Moon (SLIM) mission garnered a good deal of attention. Not only was Japan making another attempt at a Moon landing, but it was attempting to do so specifically...

Tattoos have been around for millennia. People got them at least five thousand years ago. Today they’re common everywhere from Maori communities in New Zealand to office parks in Ohio. But in the ancient Middle East, the writers of the Hebrew Bible forbade tattooing. Per Leviticus 19:28, “You shall not make gashes in your flesh for the dead, or incise any marks on yourselves.” Historically, scholars have often understood this as a warning against pagan practices of mourning. But language scholar John Huehnergard and ancient-Israel expert Harold Liebowitz argue that tattooing was understood differently in ancient times. Huehnergard and Liebowitz...

When donald trump left office three years ago, still huffing, puffing and plotting to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election, the leaders of most of America’s biggest corporations were only too happy to see the back of him. They wore their moral outrage like a badge of honour. True, they had conveniently put aside their earlier scruples about Mr Trump’s suitability for the White House, bought off by generous corporate and personal tax cuts in 2017. True, many had cravenly turned a blind eye to his torching of environmental rules in support of a broad-brush regulatory bonfire. But...

ESA's Mars Express spacecraft has made a significant breakthrough in our understanding of Mars's hydrological history by uncovering extensive layers of water ice at the planet's equator. This finding, derived from new data analysis by the Mars Advanced Radar for Subsurface and Ionosphere Sounding (MARSIS), suggests the presence of ice layers stretching several kilometers below the surface in the Medusae Fossae Formation (MFF). Over a decade ago, initial studies by Mars Express pointed to the existence of massive deposits in the MFF, as deep as 2.5 kilometers. However, the composition of these deposits remained a mystery until now. "We've explored...
