The dream of net-zero carbon emissions—and its vision of blanketing hundreds of millions of acres of American land with wind turbines and solar panels—is running up against the reality that most of the land in America is still privately owned and many Americans don’t want these massive industrial installations near their homes. But that may prove to be a temporary impediment. “There is a major effort under the Biden administration to consolidate power over land and resources, because whoever owns the land and resources of a nation, controls the people,” Margaret Byfield, executive director of American Stewards of Liberty, a...

Bande de Gaza (Territoires palestiniens) (AFP) – Dozens of journalists took part in a funeral on Saturday for an Al Jazeera cameraman killed in an Israeli strike in the south of the war-torn Gaza Strip. Samer Abu Daqqa's body, bearing his bullet-proof vest and helmet, was carried through a crowd in the city of Khan Yunis before being buried in a grave dug by fellow journalists. His mother Umm Maher Abu Daqqa accused Israel of targeting journalists, "especially those working for Al Jazeera". Abu Daqqa, born in 1978, was reporting from a school in Khan Yunis when he was hit...

Pray For The Peace of JerusalemActs 25Paul’s Trial Before Festus 25 Three days after arriving in the province, Festus went up from Caesarea to Jerusalem, 2 where the chief priests and the Jewish leaders appeared before him and presented the charges against Paul. 3 They requested Festus, as a favor to them, to have Paul transferred to Jerusalem, for they were preparing an ambush to kill him along the way. 4 Festus answered, “Paul is being held at Caesarea, and I myself am going there soon. 5 Let some of your leaders come with me, and if the man has...

Regardless, China-Russia relations grew more strained than outsiders might imagine, with Russia finally taking a big gamble: It would drop an informational bomb on Beijing. The subject of that information was then Foreign Minister Qin, who had been tapped for the post by Xi. It's easy to see what might have motivated Russia. Being China's top diplomat, Qin would have been the person responsible for sending the Chinese delegation to Ukraine. Russia labeled Qin as pro-U.S. as he had served as ambassador to the U.S. for a short period before being tapped as foreign minister. So it "passed on internal...

TOKYO – That loud ticking sound emanating from the Japanese capital is Fumio Kishida’s political clock counting down toward zero. Approval ratings in the neighborhood of 30% tend to spell the end of Japanese governments. Prime Minister Kishida’s is now below 20% – and dropping as the economy sinks into recession and inflation outpaces wage growth. The rising odds that Kishida will soon be shown the door is stellar news for Xi Jinping’s China and a dismal turn of events for Joe Biden’s White House. Since grabbing the premiership in October 2021, Kishida has been as close an ally to...

When out and about this Christmas season, bundle up, and put on your most festive Glock [or Sig]. Just in time for Christmas, the FBI and Homeland Security are announcing a greatly elevated risk of “lone wolf” terrorism. Happy Holidays! They’re a little late in contributing to the holiday spirit. Hapless FBI Director Christopher Wray has twice in the last month or so sheepishly told Congress with thousands, or tens of thousands of single, military-aged men from countries that want to kill every American, countries like China, Iran, Syria, Afghanistan and more, streaming across the totally secure border, we might...

The idea that black people are always late to appointments and unable to keep to a schedule is one of those racist myths that should have died a natural death a long time ago. And yet it’s still with us. Only now, the purveyors of this stereotype are not, in the main, white bigots. Rather, they’re self-styled social justice warriors who believe that when anybody—even an African American—expects a black person to conform to the most basic social norms, they’re revealing a deeply held racial bias. Being on time, they would have you believe, is a white thing, and to...

Since the New Deal, leftists have consistently expanded government power, especially in the executive branch. Trump threatened all of that and still does. The Constitution created a chief executive who was supposed to have very few powers. His remit was foreign policy. Individual states weren’t allowed to deal directly with foreign powers, so that was left to the President. No police power exists in the Constitution, so disputes between the states would be dealt with by the Courts. The powers of the Congress were originally limited to a series of specific acts beginning with “To borrow money…” in Article I,...

Give outgoing Sen. Mitt Romney credit, the liberal Republican from Utah seems to understand that when it comes to the GOP he’s a round peg trying to fit into a square hole. Romney told the UK-based Independent that he will not be endorsing a candidate in the 2024 Republican presidential primary because his stamp of approval amounts to little more than a “kiss of death.” “I can’t imagine endorsing anybody,” he said. “And my endorsement would be the kiss of death.” Effectively yielding to Donald Trump’s dominance in the polls, Romney has no confidence in the other candidates challenging the...

A heroic Texas teen was shot in the heart during a road rage nightmare but still managed to safely veer her car off the road to save her passengers before she died. Louise Jean Wilson, 17, was driving to watch the sunrise in Galveston with her boyfriend and another friend when the heated confrontation ignited on Dec. 10, according to Houston Police. Police said Wilson unintentionally swerved in front of the suspect’s four-door sedan to avoid getting into an accident when the gunman opened fire in response at around 1 a.m. on Interstate 45 in Houston. “The vehicle that they...

California Secretary of State Shirley Weber announced on Friday that Assemblyman Vince Fong cannot run for former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy's (R-CA) House seat next year because he has already filed to run for state Assembly. Weber confirmed that under California state law, a candidate cannot appear on one ballot for two separate offices. "Under state law, a candidate who has filed their declaration of candidacy is not permitted to withdraw as a candidate at that primary election," the secretary said in a statement. "Mr. Fong filed his completed nomination documents for Assembly District 32 prior to the close of...

ALBANY, N.Y. — A new bill in the New York State Assembly would require all restaurants at Thruway rest stops be open seven days a week. That includes Chick-fil-A. The fast food chain has a company policy of being closed on Sundays — which lawmakers backing the bill say is a “disservice and unnecessary inconvenience” for travelers on the Thruway. The bill was just introduced Wednesday, meaning it has a while to go before it could b voted on or potentially signed into law. Right now, Chick-fil-A eateries are open at seven of 27 Thruway service areas being rebuilt.

I may be Jewish but I think I give the best Christmas present. I am a coin collector and I enjoy giving my Christian friends an ancient coin known as the widow’s mite. I will be doing it again this Christmas. According to Mark 12:41-44 (King James):

On the evening of Dec. 16, 1773, a crowd of armed men, some allegedly wearing costumes meant to disguise them as Native American warriors, boarded three ships docked at Griffin’s Wharf in Boston. In the vessels’ holds were 340 chests containing 92,000 pounds of tea, the most popular drink in America. With support from the patriot group known as the Sons of Liberty, the intruders methodically searched the ships and dumped their tea into Boston Harbor. According to the British East India Company, whose proprietors owned the destroyed cargo, losses totaled more than a million dollars in today’s currency. The...
