The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) revealed Saturday that it had found dozens of rockets in a private home in Gaza City underneath boxes labeled for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), the institution devoted solely to Palestinian refugees. The Times of Israel reported: Troops of the 7007th Reserve Battalion were searching a home in a neighborhood when they found a room full of boxes bearing the logo of the UN agency that supports Palestinian refugees. Underneath the boxes, dozens of rockets, mortars and other explosives were found, the IDF says. Separately, troops of the 414th combat intelligence collection...

Arutz Sheva-Israel National News spoke to MK Dan Illouz (Likud) and asked about the world demanding a complete ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, in exchange for the release of all hostages. “After what we've seen on October 7, we've been very clear to the whole world that Israel cannot continue living with Hamas on its border. Hamas needs to be completely eradicated. On October 7, we saw the face of evil. We saw Hamas not only murder a large number of our citizens, 1,200, but also we saw the tactics that they used. We saw them behead people, burn babies...

A former Memphis Police officer who has been charged in Tyre Nichols’ death had a previous record of policy violations and accusations of excessive force as a correctional officer, according to personnel records. Demetrius Haley was previously a correctional officer at a prison run by the Shelby County Division of Corrections from 2015 to 2020. In his work as a corrections officer, an inmate named Cordarius Sledge accused Haley of using chemical spray on him, constituting excessive force, in 2015. However, an investigation didn’t find any violations of use of force policies of the department, and found allegations unsubstantiated.

A California woman was convicted of involuntary manslaughter Friday in the 2018 death of her boyfriend after she stabbed him over 100 times during a “cannabis-induced psychosis.” The jury took less than four hours to find Bryn Spejcher, 32, guilty of killing her partner Chad O’Melia as she sobbed during the court appearance, according to KTLA 5. The couple had only been together for a few weeks when Spejcher attacked O’Melia after she took two hits from his bong — a smoking device regularly used for marijuana — in May 2018.

  • Di Leo: Questions and Answers in an Age of Horror

Life has always had challenges, tragedies, crimes, all sorts of horrors. There have been brawlers, thieves and murderers since the dawn of time, so the individual crimes of modern times are perhaps not without precedent. But there are differences. There are changes in the modern era – in how such crimes are received – that are without precedent in the past. In the 1920s, Soviet Communists murdered millions of their fellow Russians. Americans and other westerners didn’t know this, largely because the press intentionally suppressed such news. Many liberal Americans, even non-communists, supported friendly relations with the Soviet Union, but...

While acknowledging that he shouldn’t “complain too much”, Volodymyr Zelensky has again expressed his displeasure with the volume of Western weapons flowing into his country. There are not enough weapons in Ukraine and this has been a contributing factor to the failure of the so-called Spring Offensive, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said. Noting the lack of supplies and the war in Israel that has contributed to some of those supplies he hoped for not arriving, Zelensky, nevertheless told the Associated Press in an interview that he had a plan to overcome his nation’s supply problems.

The European Union appears undeterred by years of calamitous climate policies, with EU Commission Chief Ursula von der Leyen demanding new taxes and other schemes to take green agenda investment into the “trillions”. Leaders from around the world descended (many of whom on private jets) upon the oil-rich Arabian nation of Dubai for the 28th instalment of the United Nation’s top annual climate summit, in which politicians demand that ordinary citizens bankroll their lofty visions of a so-called green future.

A new video captured the moment a boat full of suspected illegal migrants landed on the beach in Malibu, close to many of Hollywood star’s homes. The video, obtained by Fox News’ Bill Melugin, shows a boat pulling up to a beach at around 1 a.m. on Thursday, and then 25 people can be seen leaping out of the vessel and running towards the land. The plush alibu is home to liberal celebrities, including Leonardo Di Caprio, Cher, and Barbra Streisand. Melugin said such a landing, which is a common tactic used by illegal immigrants descending on European countries, is...

Russian security forces raided gay clubs and bars across Moscow Friday night, less than 48 hours after the country’s top court banned what it called the “global LGBTQ+ movement” as an extremist organization. Police searched venues across the Russian capital, including a nightclub, a male sauna, and a bar that hosted LGBTQ+ parties, under the pretext of a drug raid, local media reported. Eyewitnesses told journalists that clubgoers’ documents were checked and photographed by the security services. They also said that managers had been able to warn patrons before police arrived. The raids follow a decision by Russia’s Supreme Court...

According to our source, the possibility of this unannounced meeting was one of the reasons for the parliamentary leadership's cancellation of Poroshenko's trip. The Ukrainian leadership believes that a meeting between the former president and the Hungarian PM could further damage Ukraine-Hungary relations, which are currently in a crisis.Orban is planning to block negotiations for Ukraine's entry into the European Union and the allocation of EUR 50 billion ($55 billion) in financial aid to Kyiv—both issues to be discussed at the upcoming EU summit in December.

On this date in 1917, 24-year-old black farmhand Lation (or Ligon) Scott died a horrible death in Dyersburg, Tennessee. For the two years prior to his extrajudicial “execution” by a lynch mob, Scott had worked as a farmhand for a white family, doing the farm chores while the husband worked at his job in Dyersburg. He got on well with the family and was fond of the two children. He seemed like an ordinary enough man and a good worker, according to the NAACP journal The Crisis: Accounts as to his intelligence vary widely. One report asserts that he was...
  • Drunk and Asleep on the Job: Air Traffic Controllers Pushed to the Brink

The New York Times ^ | Dec 02, 2023 | Emily Steel, Sydney Ember
A nationwide shortage of controllers has resulted in an exhausted and demoralized work force that is increasingly prone to making dangerous mistakes. One air traffic controller went into work drunk this summer and joked about “making big money buzzed.” Another routinely smoked marijuana during breaks. A third employee threatened violence and then “aggressively pushed” a colleague who was directing airplanes. The incidents were extreme examples, but they fit into a pattern that reveals glaring vulnerabilities in one of the most important protective layers of the nation’s vaunted aviation safety system. In the past two years, air traffic controllers and others...
  • Forget the ‘tripledemic.’ The U.S. is headed for a ‘syndemic’ this winter—and experts warn we’re not prepared

COVID will likely reach levels this winter not yet seen this year, combining with surges of flu, RSV, and other pathogens for a “syndemic” winter not so different from last year’s “tripledemic,” experts say. Raj Rajnarayanan, assistant dean of research and associate professor at the New York Institute of Technology campus in Jonesboro, Ark., told Fortune that the U.S. is a “sitting duck” in the face of a “syndemic” winter.
