On June 8th, the Washington Post ran, “These academics studied falsehoods spread by Trump. Now the GOP wants answers,” a story about how “records requests, subpoenas and lawsuits” were wielded as “tools of harassment” against “scholars” in the “field of disinformation.” In photo portraits, Kate Starbird of the University of Washington stared plaintively in the distance, a caption under one: “The political part is intimidating — to have people with a lot of power in this world making… false accusations about our work.” Starbird sits on an advisory committee for the 245,000-person, $185 billion Department of Homeland Security, but perhaps...

Growing up in Iraq and Lebanon, we looked at the West with awe. The West was ahead of the Arabs world on many levels, including government, urban planning, social welfare, science, literature, technology and military strength. In Lebanon, almost every child at school was taught three languages, learning English and French, in addition to our native Arabic. Parents talked to their children in these languages. We generally associated success and wealth with speaking Western languages. ... During my years in the old homeland, the Arabs were in consensus over the need to emulate the West, but there was an obstacle:...

Borman died Tuesday in Billings, Montana, according to NASA. He also led troubled Eastern Airlines in the 1970s and early '80s after leaving the astronaut corps. But he was best known for his NASA duties. He and his crew, James Lovell and William Anders, were the first Apollo mission to fly to the moon - and to see Earth as a distant sphere in space. 'Today we...

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Georgia Republican, has recently introduced a resolution to remove Alejandro Mayorkas, the Secretary of Homeland Security. The bill accuses the Biden administration official of high crimes and misdemeanors due to his failure to address the ongoing crisis at the southern border.“Enough is enough. We can’t wait anymore in Washington D.C.,” Green said on the steps of the Capitol building after filing a resolution to impeach Mayorkas, according to USA Today

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Lake Mead’s blue waters and striking landscapes are a desert jewel in one of the most visited national recreation areas in the United States and it shows. Everywhere you look, you will find litter. So far this year, volunteers have removed 27,000 pounds of trash on and around the lake. Trash found at Lake Mead. (KLAS) Ken Kotora is one of those volunteers and he has been cruising this lake for more than 30 years. He calls Lake Mead the best lake in the world. Sadly, others don’t treat it that way. “It’s disgusting. People don’t...

On Thursday’s broadcast of “CNN News Central,” Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE) stated that one issue complicating negotiations to get Americans out of Gaza is the fact that Hamas is trying to get injured terrorists released. Coons said he hopes there is a “several-day pause” to get humanitarian aid into Gaza, get dual citizens out of Gaza, and free hostages. Later, co-host Sara Sidner asked, “There are still U.S. citizens in Gaza who want out. There [are] a couple in particular that we are aware of, [one] is stuck there and saying that the State Department is just not doing enough...

Ahed Tamimi is the Palestinian young woman who, as a teenager, gained fame for supposedly standing bravely up to Israeli soldiers conducting operations in her home village of Nabi Saleh. She slapped an IDF soldier and, for good measure, kicked him. She became a “Palestinian heroine” for her actions, with her poster plastered everywhere as the very model of what a Palestinian girl should be like. She was made an honorary member of the Palestinian National Council. Of course, her “heroism” was non-existent: she knew perfectly well that Israeli soldiers do not attack women; that the soldier she was harassing...

Political organization in the total stateCapturing regional political control is often a thankless task. But that kind of diligence can create a bulwark against a corrupt administration seeking to punish dissent. We now know that the FBI labeled Donald Trump’s supporters as a distinct category of domestic extremist. While this formal step toward the criminalization of political opposition in the United States is horrifying, it should not really come as a surprise. After all, the FBI and Department of Justice have spent the last few years repeating the lie that “right-wing extremism” is the most serious domestic threat to the nation....

A series of questions on the war in Ukraine drew heated comments from multiple candidates onstage at Wednesday's Republican presidential primary debate and led to a tense exchange between Vivek Ramaswamy and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley. Ramaswamy, pressed on if he supported additional funding for Ukraine as requested by President Joe Biden, said he was "absolutely unpersuaded" by pleas for aid from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. "Ukraine is not a paragon of democracy," he responded. "This is a country that has banned 11 opposition parties. It has consolidated all media into one state TV media...

The atrocities Hamas committed on October 7, 2023, and subsequent worldwide support for the genocidal “judenrein-from-the-river-to-the-sea” ideology revealed the prevalence of widespread anti-Semitism. Terrorism has a worldwide reach. The Israel-Hamas war affects international markets and geopolitics. Anyone on the planet, Jewish or not, might suffer from anti-Semitism. It is important, therefore, to understand anti-Semitism.This essay rejects supernatural or genetic explanations for anti-Semitism. Jews are not a different species of human being. Humans are more alike than different. Children born black or white, Muslim or Jewish, offer the same potential. Both anti-Semites and philo-Semites repeat the same formulaic phrases: “Jews are the...

One would have to be living under a rock to ignore the sickening carnage of October 7, the latest outrage in a horrific terrorism campaign that Hamas has been waging against innocent civilians in Israel for over thirty years. In 1993, all but a tiny sliver of American society, the containing its most radical and foreign elements, recognized Hamas as a monumental evil that must be eradicated without equivocation or regret. But thanks to the toxic brew of mass immigration and K-12 indoctrination, the America of 2023 is a very different place. Now, college professors applaud bestial acts of rape, murder,...

Pro-Palestinian agitators and pro-Israel demonstrators brawled outside of a documentary screening of the October 7 terrorist attack at the Holocaust Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles Wednesday evening, The screening of “Bearing Witness,” reportedly organized by Israeli actress Gal Gadot, featured uncensored images and videos of the Hamas terrorists’ atrocities against civilians living in Southern Israel. Left-wing pro-Palestinian agitators tried to pressure the museum to cancel the screening, arguing that it was “genocidal propaganda.” Around 200 people attended the screening, which reportedly had a heavy security presence. Video footage captured by ABC7 shows the two sides “clashing” across the street...
