Vancouverites are known to cherish their magnificent views of the city and nature. A lawsuit filed this month in BC Supreme Court aims to pin a value on exactly how much a “beautiful” view of the ocean, mountains and Stanley Park is worth. The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, has said he fears that the aftermath of Hamas’s attack on Israel and US politics could threaten military support for his country, as he made a surprise visit to Brussels where Nato defence ministers are meeting. “I want to be honest with you, of course it is a dangerous situation for people in Ukraine,” he said on his first visit to Nato headquarters since Russia’s 2022 invasion, making an in-person plea for continued assistance at a time when turbulence in the US Congress threatens to disrupt aid for Kyiv and the world’s attention is drawn...

The big picture: More than 1 million Palestinians live in this area. The message could be a signal that the Israeli military is preparing for an imminent ground operation. The sources told Axios that the IDF's reason for the notification was in order for civilians not to be hurt by...

Reporters at The Washington Post wanted answers about major job cuts during a contentious one-hour meeting Wednesday with top brass. The paper announced on Tuesday that it would be offering buyouts, with the aim to cut 240 jobs from the newsroom. But management offered little clarity about who would be affected or why the cuts were necessary. A day later, Post journalists pressed their interim CEO on why their jobs were on the chopping block, with reporter and Guild president Katie Mettler telling Stonesifer she was frustrated by reporters “bearing the consequences of very poor decisions” made by management. Interim...

Floyd Mayweather is one of the greatest fighters of all time, but he has never claimed to be a moral paragon. Still, he knows where he stands on decapitating babies:You have to be much, much smarter than a mere boxer to contemplate gang rape, mass murder of men, women and children, taking of hostages, spitting on the naked bodies of victims, etc., and respond: “It’s complicated.” Or worse. Like, for example, you might need to be an Ivy League professor: Yale American Studies professor justifies Hamas attacks.Of course, lest we give up on the Ivies altogether, let’s acknowledge that Harvard’s...

Fire officials will return to the locations starting Sunday to issue their final inspections, the sources said. The controversial former Staten Island Catholic school, St. John’s Villa Academy,...

Israel is entitled to do whatever it takes to uproot this evil, depraved culture that resides next to it. A mob of Islamist Arabs incited by Jew-hatred entered the town and killed as many Jews as they could find. They went door to door, broke into the homes of their victims, and slaughtered innocent men, women and children. These gangs raped, mutilated and tortured them while screaming “Kill the Jews!”That was 94 years ago, on Saturday, Aug. 24, 1929, in Hebron. The picture is essentially the same, only that then the Arab riots that included this massacre ended with 133...

With liberals, it often seems that it's opposite day. When they say they want to prevent the spread of misinformation, what they really mean is they want to spread propaganda and suppress truth. When they say they simply want people to be tolerant of other cultures and beliefs, they work to implement the most intolerant institutions imaginable. When they say they want to fortify an election, it means they want to ensure a pre-determined outcome. Since January 6 they've been shouting that they need to protect democracy and taking action on multiple fronts to do the opposite, as Tucker Carlson...

Biden’s White House is hostage to a ferocious cadre of radical childrenThe Democratic Party is in a state of rhetorical paralysis. This weekend, as Palestinian terrorists streamed across the Israeli border, the White House maintained hours of thunderous silence. On Saturday, the Biden administration released a few limp paragraphs to the effect that “terrorism is never justified” and “Israel has a right to defend itself and its people.” This, after an uninterrupted outpouring of financial and oratorical support for Ukraine, is weak tea. But as the head of a party that is being overrun in not-so-slow motion by a vigorous...
