A Los Angeles city official wants to ban cashless businesses in the area, arguing they exclude low-income people and others who don't carry credit cards. "Cashless businesses create an economy in our City that is not inclusive and accessible for all people," Councilwoman Heather Hutt said in a press release introducing a motion on the topic. "There are many unbanked groups, including BIPOC and low-income communities, that rely on cash to pay for goods and services." It comes as more businesses in the area are opting for cashless payments like credit cards or digital payments through apps. Those options, businesses...

Almost 5,000 pilots have been investigated for failing to disclose receiving disability benefits, which could bar them from the cockpit. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed to The Washington Post on Sunday that 4,800 pilots had been investigated. Of those, 600 are licensed to fly passenger planes. The rest fly cargo or corporate clients. Half the cases have been closed, said FAA spokesman Matthew Lehner. Experts said the inquiry has exposed long-standing vulnerabilities in the FAA's medical system for screening pilots, and that the sheer number of unreported health problems presents a risk to aviation safety. Pilots must pass regular...

A tenured professor at the University of California, Riverside, who has long been accused of fabricating her Native American heritage, will be allowed to retire with full benefits and her title intact. Ethnic Studies Professor Andrea Smith will reportedly be allowed to keep her current position through August of 2024. She will be allowed to teach classes until then. The separation agreement comes in the wake of a recent complaint by more than a dozen faculty members, who accused her of violating academic integrity by lying about her Native American lineage. The agreement is unusual both in that it will...

A special lecture will be held at the Babylon Jewish Heritage Center this week that will reveal an archive of Iraqi Jews that was found by US Army soldiers in the basements of Saddam Hussein's intelligence building. The one who will tell about the findings is the one who was among the archivists, Dr. Harold Rudd, a consultant to the US Department of Defense who was sent together with the US task force to the basements that were hit by an American bomb. In an interview with Israel National News, Dr. Rudd talks about the rescue operation and the findings...

In the summer of 1968, a friend and I went to see the blockbuster movie of the year—2001: A Space Odyssey. We settled into our seats and the theater went dark. The film began. And then we heard the most astounding music. It grabbed me like no movie music ever had. There was more magnificent music in 2001, some of which I recognized, such as “The Blue Danube,” but it was the opening that stuck in my mind. What was that music and where did it come from? Many others were wondering the same thing. A year or two later,...

Joe Biden is an establishment President. Democrats and the RINO Party apparently, would rather see Biden re-elected than a popular MAGA candidate. I think Bill Barr for sure, would rather see Biden, Harris, etc., re-elected, rather than another Trump term. Suppose the corrupt establishment puppet President Biden, is successful in impeding the MAGA candidate by incarceration, endless lawfare fake charges, or somehow legally disqualifying the MAGA candidate from running in 2024. This election interference, which would never be possible without the mainstream propaganda media, is absolutely uncountered by the unwilling and enfeebled Republican RINOcrat party. Suppose there is no MAGA...

As more evidence emerges from the Maui fire disaster, it is becoming clearer that government officials made a bad situation worse. Not only was the supply of firefighting water delayed by five hours due to bureaucratic dithering and the sound of warning sirens nixed by quibbling over whether it would be appropriate to do so, now it appears that police blockaded cars from driving to safety. Those who obeyed the police officers enforcing the blockade died. Those who disobeyed and drove or walked past the barricades survived. Maui Police Chief John Pelletier defended the blockade, saying "I thought it was...

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Sunday downplayed fellow octogenarian President Biden’s age, recalling a recent meeting in which the 80-year-old commander-in-chief “seemed fine.” “I met with the president, I don’t know five or six weeks ago. We had a great discussion. He seemed fine to me,” Sanders told NBC News’ “Meet the Press.” Sanders, 81, rattled off a host of issues, such as abortion, climate change, the minimum wage, reforming the pharmaceutical industry and more that he believes voters will consider strongly in the 2024 presidential election.

[Catholic Caucus] Francis Calls His Synod "Abstruse" and "Self-Referential"Francis has been chosen as the 2023 recipient of E’ Giornalismo, a prize that has decorated Italian regime journalists since 1995.There was a time when popes did not accept secular awards. In his August 26 acceptance speech, Francis said that he was accepting the prize to highlight the urgency of "constructive communication” against "coprophilia." The little-known term means "love for excrement" and was coined in 1914 by the Jewish-German psychiatrist Albert Eulenburg who used it to describe a sexual attraction to faeces and defecation. Bergoglio must know this word from the psychological...

Ukraine has unveiled a 20-foot-long underwater drone to attack Russian warships from under the sea, reports say. The vessel, called Marichka, could give Ukraine a new dimension to its attacks on Putin's Black Sea fleet, as until now, attacks have been mainly carried out by surface naval drones."Marichka will hit the ships on the underwater part, which can be even more destructive for the warships," specialist naval defense news website Navalnews said."A swarm of these suicide underwater uncrewed vehicles is very hard to defend," it said.Ukraine previously unveiled a much smaller submarine drone called the Toloka. However, it is still...

A long-forgotten time capsule at West Point recently discovered inside the base of a monument and believed to have been left by cadets in the late 1820s is expected to be pried open Monday. The contents of the small lead box could possibly provide a window into the early, more Spartan days of the storied US Military Academy. It’s not certain exactly when the box was placed in the monument’s marble base or who chose any items inside, though a committee of five cadets that may have been involved with the time capsule included 1829 graduate Robert E. Lee, the...

Psalms 33:4 For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. In every situation, every condition, every problem it's good to remember Psalm 33:4 and John 17:17 that God's word is right and truth. Because there's are a lot of voices out there speaking a whole lot of things and we need to know who to listen to. So, God's word is right and truth which means whatever God says about a thing that's how it is, whether it appears to be...

Pharmacy giant Rite Aid, which is facing an onslaught of lawsuits over its alleged role in the opioid epidemic, is planning to file for bankruptcy protection, according to a report. The company's multibillion-dollar debt load and pending legal allegations that it oversupplied prescription painkillers, will be covered under the Chapter 11 filing, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter. A Rite Aid spokesperson told FOX Business that the company does "not comment on rumors and speculation." The law firm reportedly handling the restructuring, Kirkland & Ellis LLP, did not immediately respond to FOX Business' request...
