An Albertan court ruled on Tuesday that lockdown orders enacted in response to Covid were invalid. The ruling in Ingram v. Alberta will likely force prosecutors to withdraw charges against individuals, churches, and other organizations in several other standing cases. Justice Barbara Romaine ruled in favor of the applicants because the Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) delegated her decisions to the cabinet, which she was not authorized to do under Canadian law. The CMOH herself testified at trial that she provided only advice and recommendations to politicians but did not make the decisions herself. Justice Romaine did conclude that...

The Marines just landed an F-35B Joint Strike Fighter on an old 50-foot-wide highway in Southern California, refueled and rearmed, and took back off again. At this same improvised forward arming and refueling point, a Marine MV-22 Osprey tilt-rotor passed over a torpedo to a waiting Navy MH-60R Seahawk helicopter. This was a glimpse of what is to come for future Marine operations in the Pacific, and The War Zone was there to watch all of it unfold. This week VMX-1 gathered nine squadrons and other units from the Marines, Air Force, and Navy to conduct the latest iteration of...

When Donald Trump appears before District Judge Tanya Chutkan to face the host of charges brought against him for his role in 2020 election interference, he might recognise a familiar foe. Her assignment may worry Mr Trump's legal team. Over the past two years, the 61-year-old has won a reputation for harsh sentences for those convicted of participation in the riots. Of the 31 defendants who have come before her, Judge Chutkan has sentenced every one of them to at least some jail time, according to a Washington Post tally. And she has been remarkably candid when sentencing defendants to...

The first several weeks of Ukraine’s long-awaited counteroffensive have not been kind to the Ukrainian troops who were trained and armed by the United States and its allies. Equipped with advanced American weapons and heralded as the vanguard of a major assault, the troops became bogged down in dense Russian minefields under constant fire from artillery and helicopter gunships. Units got lost. One unit delayed a nighttime attack until dawn, losing its advantage. Another fared so badly that commanders yanked it off the battlefield altogether.

"I show you a still more excellent way" (1 Cor. 12:31). Biblical love is characterized by humility, obedience to God, and self-sacrifice. In our society, love is a common word but an uncommon experience. Often those who use the word most understand it least. Many who think they've found love have really settled for something far less than God intended for them. For many, love means a romantic or sexual relationship. While Scripture has much to say about intimacy within marriage, the word love takes on a different meaning in the New Testament. Even Ephesians 5:25 ("Husbands, love your wives")...

The Redfield & Wilton Strategies survey found 51 percent of Floridians believe Donald Trump is "most likely to be the Republican nominee for the 2024 presidential election," versus 15 percent who believe it will be DeSantis. All other candidates came in at two percent or less, with 21 percent saying they didn't know. The survey of 840 eligible voters in Florida was conducted from July 25-26, with the pollster stating it is 95 percent certain that each value is within 3.38 percent of the true result.

While the Big Ten and SEC both inked major media rights contracts in the last couple of years, the ACC remains locked in a deal with ESPN that doesn't expire in 2036. That has some of the conference's bigger brands feeling antsy as they watch many of the sport's top programs continue to separate themselves financially. During a board of trustees meeting Wednesday, Florida State president Richard McCullough lamented on the gap in revenue projections between ACC schools and the country's top two conferences.

It's hot. And some apparently don't mind it that way. The latest heat wave is fueled by human-caused climate change from burning fossil fuels, but despite the settled science, the overwhelming evidence and the billions of dollars in increases for disaster preparation and recovery that climate change is costing the country, Republicans have grown more skeptical of the need to prioritize fixing it, according to the latest NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll. Overall, a majority of respondents – 53% – said addressing climate change should be given priority even at the risk of slowing the economy. That included 80% of Democrats and...

Former Attorney General William Barr believes the Justice Department has a “legitimate case” in the latest indictment against former President Donald Trump, who is accused of spreading lies about widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election. In a Wednesday night interview on CNN, Barr, who served a stint as the nation’s chief law enforcement under Trump, also said he has grown to believe that Trump has always known that he legitimately lost his White House reelection bid. “As a legal matter I don’t see a problem with the indictment,” Barr told “The Source” host Kaitlan Collins. “I think that it’s...

The serial indictments and investigations of former President Trump are meant to rig the 2024 presidential election, but the latest indictment is unique in rigging even its aftermath. Previous indictments of the former president had broken all sorts of new legal ground by turning misdemeanors into felonies and deciding that the statute of limitations is just a suggestion, but the Jan 6 indictment by Democrat special counsel Jack Smith criminalizes election challenges. Or at least election challenges against Democrats. And along with that, all political dissent. The Jan 6 indictment contends that Trump’s election challenges were a crime. What does...

Lisbon (AFP) – Pope Francis on Thursday urged young people to focus on caring for the planet and fighting climate change, calling for an "integral ecology" that melds environmental protection with the fight against poverty and other social problems. The 86-year-old Francis has made the protection of the environment a cornerstone of his pontificate, noting in his landmark 2015 "Laudato Si" (Praised Be) encyclical that the planet was "beginning to look more and more like an immense pile of filth". "We must recognise the dramatic and urgent need to care for our common home. Yet this cannot be done without...

The assumption is that these people need to be preached the gospel, because they’re sinners. That’s a reasonable inference. What I think we miss is that, most likely, these people—these lovers of self and of money, proud, arrogant, disobedient to parents, abusive… he goes on at length—are within the church.

The S in SHAPE refers to Spiritual Gifts that can only be possessed by a believer, as even Rick Warren asserts, meaning that only the ‘‘new man” can possess them. However, the Heart, Abilities, Personality, and Experience (the H,A,P,E in SHAPE) could apply to believers as well as non-believers. The impression is created that there is an attempt to combine the attributes of the new man (the S in SHAPE) and the old man (the H,A,P,E in SHAPE) in what Rick Warren describes as a “custom combination of capabilities.”

A University professor has claimed kids should be exposed to adult genitalia to prepare them for the possibility of seeing a naked trans person, in a shocking jab at swimmer Riley Gaines. Journalism professor Dr. Katja Thieme had made the comment in a Twitter post she shared criticizing swimmer and women's rights advocate Riley Gaines. Thieme, who teaches at the University of British Columbia, had been tweeted a video of Gaines explaining the effects of having to compete against transgender swimmer Lia Thomas. In a lengthy response to the video, in which Thieme blasted Gaines, she also tweeted: 'Hey, want...

A Christian protesting a Pride event over the weekend in Watertown, Wisconsin, was handcuffed and detained by police in a video that went viral. Several members of the Christian group Warriors for Christ were evangelizing at the city's annual "Pride in the Park" on Saturday, an event organizers advertised as family-friendly. In the video, Marcus Schroeder is reading from the Bible into a microphone when officers surround him and grab his microphone and speaker. As his group questions the officers, they handcuff Schroeder and explain that he was being arrested for violating a sound ordinance about noise amplification. Jason Storms,...

A "deeply alarming" situation has unfolded in Colorado, where a Christian-owned coffee shop has reportedly been under fire by LGBT activists, communists, and others over the owners' "biblical stance on sexual sin." "Since its opening last month, The Drip Café, a Christian-owned coffee shop ministry in Denver, has been targeted by protesters over its belief that homosexuality is sinful," Christian Post reporter Ian Giatti wrote earlier this month. "Owner Jamie Sanchez believes the Denver communists and other LGBT protesters were triggered by Scripture on the website of his coffee shop's parent nonprofit Recycle God's Love, which ministers to the local...
