Gene Tierney and Vincent Price star in an adaptation
of Anya Seton's bestselling novel. Excellent fun for fans
of Gothic romance and historical fiction.

Hey, V K.
What a terrific film. Enjoying watching Vincent Price dance. A much younger actor in 1946.
Black and white films accentuate the acting qualities of the players. I don’t miss the color at all. Favorite movie is Roman Holiday.
Cheers...
I watched it for Tierney and Price. I think it was the first movie I saw him as younger than middle age.
When I was in my early youth, color was new and more appealing (especially as a Trekkie), but after watching some of the classic b/w movies, I started liking them more for that and for other reasons. It’s akin to color vs. b/w photos. Color gives more information about how the person appeared in real life, but it can be a distraction from the portrait aspect of a person in a b/w photo. Can’t really explain it well.
I always thought it was odd that Anya Seton was married twice - both times to men with the first name Hamilton. What are the odds of that?
Caught this one a few years ago. Surprisingly interesting film.
One of the lovest women ever. It the 80’s, I found that she was still alive and wrote her and got her autograph.
Roman Holiday
