Without climate change, the heat waves impacting the U.S.-Mexico region and Southern Europe this month would have been “virtually” impossible, according to new research. The research, from the World Weather Attribution initiative, also found that heat impacting China would have been “about a 1 in 250 year event.” At the start of July, heat waves hit the Southwestern U.S., as well as Mexico, Southern Europe and China. In California’s Death Valley, temperatures reached more than 125 degrees Fahrenheit, while Phoenix has seen 25 days straight with temperatures of at least 110 degrees. As all this occurred, the World Weather Attribution...

This is the moment Las Vegas Metro police discovered 'the worst' case of child abuse they have seen, with six horrifically abused children, including two locked in a cage. Officers responding to a domestic violence callout on June 11 found two children, aged nine and eleven, locked in a dog cage and another four severely beaten in an apartment near Flamingo Road and Valley View Boulevard. One of the children had 'two black eyes that were swollen shut, multiple marks and bruises all over his body, and he was emaciated,' police said. The child was in such a state that...

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) has called upon the Republican donor class to start pressuring low-polling GOP candidates into dropping out of the 2024 presidential race to defeat Trump.Romney issued his call in a Wall Street Journal op-ed published Monday. He said that the donor class needs to pressure candidates with no path to drop out by February of next year at the very latest.“Despite Donald Trump’s apparent inevitability, a baker’s dozen Republicans are hoping to become the party’s 2024 nominee for president,” he wrote. “That is possible for any of them if the field narrows to a two-person race before...

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said during an interview this week that the Republican-controlled chamber is moving closer toward an impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden over allegations that he accepted millions of dollars in bribes from foreign countries. McCarthy’s remarks come after Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) released an FBI-generated FD-1023 form last week in which a human confidential source told the FBI that Burisma co-founder and CEO Mykola Zlochevsky claimed that he was “coerced” by the then-Vice President Biden and his son into paying millions of dollars in bribes in exchange for their help in pressuring Ukraine to fire...

Talk about being sold a bill of duds. Michael Shellenberger (that wonderful, courageous man) had a series of tweets this afternoon and I could not believe my eyes. "People say solar panels don't produce carbon emissions, but they do. And now, a major new investigation by Environmental Progress, drawing on the research of @enricomariutti, finds that solar panels made in China produce at least 3x more carbon emissions than IPCC claims." The report from Environmental Progress points out a fatal flaw in the solar panel data all of this frenzied switch to renewables is based on: it’s either industry sourced,...

“The Church’s reform disaster: No one wants to see the causes of the abuse scandal. Yet they can be clearly identified”: Martin MosebachThis article by Martin Mosebach was published on February 10, 2022 in the Neue Zürcher Zeitung. As far as I am aware, it was not translated into English at the time—but its message is more relevant than ever, with the elevation, as prefect of Doctrine of the Faith, of a bishop widely regarded as guilty of mishandling abuse cases.—PAK The Church’s reform disaster: No one wants to see the causes of the abuse scandal. Yet they can be...

Vice President Kamala Harris recently traveled to Florida to falsely claim the state's new curriculum on African-America history paints slavery as "beneficial." The curriculum is 216-pages long and extremely thorough, yet Harris took a single sentence completely out of context for political purposes. Now, she's being fact checked by Dr. William Allen -- a man who helped write the curriculum and a descendent of slaves. During a recent radio interview, Allen was asked if the wording of the curriculum should be changed after Harris' criticism. The answer is no. "My great grandfather is someone who came from the islands and...

Ron DeSantis drops to the lower teens, Monday’s Rasmussen Reports survey found.According to the survey, 95 percent of Republican likely voters are at least somewhat likely to vote in the GOP presidential primary. Of those, 85 percent are “very” likely. When asked which candidate they plan to support for the nomination, 57 percent of Republicans chose Trump. Only one other individual listed saw double-digit support: DeSantis, who fell into the lower teens with 13 percent support.RELATED — Donald Trump Jr.: Never Trump...

Europe and the West have a death wish. The Left, seeking power and the corporate leaders seeking cheap labor, are well along in their project of destroying us. All aided by touchy feely liberals laden with guilt and blind to the obvious. The voter support for this madness has overwhelmingly comes from women, who are vastly overrepresented in all three groups. The destruction of western civilization through deliberately promoted mass immigration of unassimilable, low IQ, violent, backward masses is the left/corporate leader/liberal/women’s greatest crime, among many, against their own culture and people. Possibly the greatest internal crime in the history of...

Idaho Christians Are Compensated $300,000 for Rights ViolationsJust how untethered to the rule of law did the United States come during the Covid response? Before March 2020, most Americans would think that monitoring church attendance, banning Easter services, and arresting hymn singers were practices reserved for Eastern-style totalitarianism. The Soviet Union persecuted Christians and the Chinese have Muslim concentration camps, but Americans’ freedom of worship is enshrined in the Bill of Rights. The free exercise of religion precedes all other liberties in the First Amendment. It was born of a core conviction that the New World could do it better than...

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton took to Twitter on Tuesday to blast "MAGA Republicans" for the recent summer heat wave hitting communities nationwide. Clinton's social media post came in response to a tweet from left-wing think tank Center for American Progress which stated "MAGA Republicans are pouring fuel on the climate crisis fire." The post included an image of recent media stories highlighting the recent spate of high temperatures in the U.S. and noted Republicans voted against the Inflation Reduction Act, Democrats' $739 billion climate package — which President Biden signed into law in 2022. "Hot enough for you?...

On July 13, the California State Assembly introduced a resolution commemorating August as “American Muslim Appreciation and Awareness Month.” House Resolution No.52 (HR 52) honors the “cultural traditions” of some 1 million Muslim Americans who call California home, and the charitable contributions that Muslims have bestowed upon “people of all faiths and backgrounds in California.” So far, so good. However, the bill follows this introduction with a praiseful list of “prominent Muslim figures who continue to make significant contributions to the State of California and the United States.” With few exceptions, the state’s honorees hail from Sunni Islamist backgrounds, possessing...

Enough is enough! The Big Apple’s migrant crisis is spiraling so far out of control that fed-up businesses say they’re taking a financial hit as the chaotic influx of asylum seekers pouring into the city spills out of city-run mega-shelters and onto the streets. From families sprawled out on busy Midtown sidewalks to grown men brawling and even mini tent cities popping up — frustrated New Yorkers say the asylum seeker mess has well and truly become a plague that’s showing no signs of easing. Over the last month alone, The Post has documented asylum seekers lounging in camp chairs...

A top official at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has admitted the federal government’s catch-and-release policies are helping the cartels grow rich by ushering more of their migrant clients into American jobs. The admissions came from Blas Nunez-Neto, who is Alejandro Mayorkas’ deputy for border and immigration policy at DHS: We see migrants now routinely paying smuggling organizations vast sums of money — often more than $10,000 to $15,000 — to facilitate their journey to the border. This is so lucrative [for the cartels], in fact, that we are now seeing the drug cartels increasingly becoming a key player...

A TEENAGE boy has been arrested in relation to an assault on an American tourist who was reportedly left with 'life-altering injuries'. Stephen Termini, 57, was attacked by a number of people on Wednesday evening on Talbot Street. Politicians have condemned the attack on the Washington native, while a fundraiser set up by his son has raised more than $60,000. 'Always dreamed of visiting Ireland' On Thursday, a garda statement revealed a man (Stephen Termini, 57, US citizen) had been assaulted at around 10.40pm the previous evening. It added that he was being treated at Beaumont Hospital, where his condition...

U.S. Judge Lewis A. Kaplan says that former President Donald J. Trump may be said to have “raped” E. Jean Carroll, even though a jury specifically declined to find that he had done so in his recent civil trial in New York. Aaron Blake of the Washington Post reported the judge’s finding — approvingly, calling it a “clarification”: [Kaplan] says that what the jury found Trump did was in fact rape, as commonly understood. The filing from Judge Lewis A. Kaplan came as Trump’s attorneys have sought a new trial and have argued that the jury’s $5 million verdict against...

Many foundational pillars of society in the United States appear to be crumbling right now before our eyes, weakened by an erosive array of social, economic and political forces. The deterioration of traditional cultural norms and the social upheaval that’s followed — from the living room to classroom the boardroom — is no surprise to Ayn Rand scholars. The celebrated Russian-born American author and philosopher predicted with haunting accuracy many of the nation’s current crises. Among her observations: Government would encroach on parental rights, stifle academic and scientific research, and fuel a dangerous mentality of victimhood.

A month before he died in April 1994, former President Richard Nixon wrote a letter to then-President Bill Clinton offering what Clinton later called “wise counsel, especially with regard to Russia.” The contents of that letter have now been declassified by the Clinton presidential library and appear prophetic. In the seven-page letter, dated March 21, 1994, and discussed by history professor Luke Nichter in the Wall Street Journal, Nixon gave a blunt assessment of the political situation in Russia, predicting accurately that relations between Moscow and Kyiv would deteriorate and that someone like Putin could come to power. Nixon, 81...
