Three people have died from a listeria outbreak in the state of Washington, the Department of Health there reported on July 21. A total of five adults over 60 years of age are known to have developed “severe infections” from Listeria monocytogenes (listeriosis), including the three who died. All five had “compromised immune systems,” the health department said in the public statement. Listeria is a serious infection that most commonly comes from food that is contaminated with the bacterium Listeria monocytogenes, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Two of the infected adults were female and three...

"[God] caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead" (1 Pet. 1:3). Everyone receives an eternal inheritance—either Heaven or Hell. We have seen several aspects of the believer's inheritance, and will see more in future days. But realize that unbelievers also will receive an inheritance, for Jesus will say to them, "Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels. . . . And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life" (Matt. 25:41,...

Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. changed tactics Sunday and demanded for the first time an investigation into possible corruption by President Joe Biden, his party’s standard bearer. Kennedy’s request was prompted by the release last week of an FBI informant report that alleged that Biden was part of a $10 million bribery scheme involving an Ukraine company that hired his son Hunter. The report released by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) alleges Burisma Holdings founder Mykola Zlochevsky told a the informant that he was “coerced” into paying the Bidens $10 million to get a Ukrainian investigation shut down. “I...

Turns out the answer wasn’t blowin’ in the wind. The 1960s and ’70s were filled with protest songs against the Vietnam War, discrimination, and The Man! While heartfelt, these songs they didn’t do much except create an artsy activist political class committed to resisting anything resembling hard work to suppress the pending wave of innovation. Songs can be inspirational, but they aren’t instruction manuals. With an air of despair, Bob Dylan’s 1963 “Blowin’ in the Wind” asked lots of breezy questions. I think “Puff the Magic Dragon” had more answers. Then Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young’s “Ohio” in 1970 offered...

The hysteria was started when climate sensationalist media outlets in Germany and elsewhere, like the Relotius Spiegel, uncritically cited a sloppily and manipulatively formulated July 13 report from the European Space Agency (ESA), that first referred to “air” temperature: "Temperatures are sizzling across Europe this week amid an intense and prolonged period of heat. And it’s only just begun. Italy, Spain, France, Germany and Poland are all facing a major heatwave with air temperatures expected to climb to 48°C on the islands of Sicily and Sardinia – potentially the hottest temperatures ever recorded in Europe.” The original ESA report continued,...

Our culture wants complete sexual freedom but ignores the negative fallout that happens when those freedoms are abused. The film “Sound of Freedom,” which (fittingly enough) opened on the Fourth of July, has, unlike “Insidious” or the latest “Indiana Jones” film, continued to grow in popularity and as of this writing has earned some $85 million at the box office against its $14.6 million budget. In fact, despite scattered reports of certain theaters passive-aggressively bothering filmgoers, more and more theaters have picked up the film and added additional screenings. Despite the tenuous claims (based on the film’s distributor) that “Sound...

It is so hot in Maricopa County, Arizona, that people are being brought into the emergency room with significant, sometimes life-threatening burns. For the past three or four weeks of this record heatwave, people have been burned just by falling on the ground. Construction workers gather together in the shade on July 11, 2023 in Austin, Texas. Record-breaking temperatures continue soaring as prolonged heatwaves sweep across the country's southwest. Heat can kill on the job, and these workers are dying “Summers are our busy season, so we anticipate that this sort of thing is going to happen. But this is...

MEMPHIS, Tuesday, July 21, Via CAIRO. Thursday, July 23. Gen. HURLBUT's scouts, arrived to-day from Okolona, Miss., report JOHNSTON at Brandon and Gen. SHERMAN in possession of Jackson. The rebel Gens. RUGGLES, CHALMERS, SAUNDERS and FERGUSON's forces are at Tupelo. RUGGLES is concentrating his forces with the intention, probably, of making a dash on our lines. Correspondence from BRAGG's and JOHNSTON's armies depict them in great destitution and greatly demoralized. They give up Mississippi, and advise the planters to stay and make the best terms possible. Our scouts report the majority of the planters anxious that we should get possession...

“Get on the ground or you’re going to get bit!” he yells. Rose complies by getting onto his knees and raising his hands, the video shows. A state trooper whose camera was recording the incident then repeatedly shouts at the local cops: “Do not release the dog with his hands up!” But the Circleville K-9 officer — identified by WOSU as Ryan Speakman – releases the dog, which lunges toward Rose and bites him as he screams, “Get the off of me … please, please … get it off!”

“Boston has become a little bit of a target in terms of culture wars and white supremacist action,” Mayor Michelle Wu claimed. “We represent what progress looks like.” In a municipality where Biden won 82% of the vote and the city council includes an African Muslim woman in a hijab, the first “Afro-Latina” and the first “Haitian-American,” but only a minority of white Irish politicians terrified of being canceled, where is this threat coming from? Despite that, the Harvard Law grad who is married to a white banker has blamed all her problems on white people. “I’m getting used to...

First lady Jill Biden landed in Paris early Monday morning ready to celebrate the United States formally rejoining a U.N. arts and culture agency which has billed the White House $619 million for its trouble. After flying in from Washington, DC, Jill Biden will have a day of rest before speaking at a ceremony Tuesday at the headquarters of the globalist United Nations Scientific, Educational and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The diplomatic trip will reverse former President Donald Trump’s decision in 2018 to withdraw the U.S. from the organization after he accused it of anti-Israel bias bound up in an opaque...

Despite the promise of Dobbs to free the states from federal court interference with abortion policy, Idaho now faces its third federal lawsuit. This last suit is challenging the new law passed this last session which makes it a felony to transport girls out of state to get an abortion without parental consent. During the legislative session, Planned Parenthood threatened numerous times to file a lawsuit. But they are not an official part of this case. Instead, we have three new plaintiffs: a private attorney named Lourdes Matsumoto, the Northwest Abortion Access Fund and the Indigenous Idaho Alliance. They allege...

If you liked the coronavirus lockdowns, you’ll love the coming climate lockdowns. Leftists sure liked the former, noting that animals reclaimed some urban areas and the skies were clearer and bluer. Government pandemic policies forced millions of Americans to work from home, and this could become the permanent norm if special carbon taxes are put in place. Such taxes will almost certainly be imposed on companies and individuals alike in the near future, though certain companies—and individuals—favored by our elite rulers may be exempted from them. Drive to work in a car? You are subject to special taxes. Travel by...
