The 2022 climate law unleashed a torrent of government subsidies to help the U.S. build clean-energy industries. The biggest beneficiaries so far are foreign companies. The Inflation Reduction Act has spurred nearly $110 billion in U.S. clean-energy projects since it passed almost a year ago, a Wall Street Journal analysis shows. Companies based overseas, largely from South Korea, Japan and China, are involved in projects accounting for more than 60% of that spending. Fifteen of the 20 largest such investments, nearly all in battery factories, involve foreign businesses, the Journal’s analysis shows. These overseas manufacturers will be able to claim...

I recently went to see the movie Sound Of Freedom with the expectation of a moderate level of political commentary or religious pontificating, given the rabid and widespread attacks on the film by the leftist media. All I knew going in was that the indie production was about child trafficking and that the mainstream media HATES IT. After the film was over, my first thought was that it was an excellent story about a very dark and difficult issue. My second thought was – “What the hell was all the fuss about? There’s not a single political moment in the...

In preparation for my big Soho Forum debate a week from today, I’ve been doing some research to collect statistics relative to the subject of immigration, particularly as to the potential consequences of unlimited immigration into the U.S. Today I’ll share some of those statistics as a teaser for what you will get when you come to the debate. The resolution for the debate is “The U.S. should have free immigration except for those who pose a security threat or have a serious contagious disease.” I have agreed to take the negative side of the resolution. You might say that...

New York City has agreed to pay more than $13 million to settle a civil rights lawsuit brought on behalf of roughly 1,300 people who were arrested or beaten by police during racial injustice demonstrations that swept through the city during the summer of 2020. If approved by a judge, the settlement, which was filed in Manhattan federal court Wednesday, would be among the most expensive payouts ever awarded in a lawsuit over mass arrests, experts said. The lawsuit focused on 18 of the many protests that erupted in New York City in the week following the killing of George...

Communism, like Islam, represents a distinct system of thought that fundamentally differs from how Western nations approach all things. Islam functions based on a set of imposed absolute truths, where all aspects of life must align with these truths. It operates in a top-down manner, and individuals who dare to question or present evidence against these truths are subject to punishment, often severe and sometimes fatal. On the other hand, our system begins with the assumption that we don’t know what’s true and engages in a process for determining what is true. We see this in our practice of law....

Former Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ), a candidate for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, said Wednesday on CNN’s “Situation Room” that Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) was wrong that prosecuting former President Donald Trump would damage the country. Anchor Wolf Blitzer said, “I want you to listen to what Governor Ron DeSantis told CNN about Trump receiving this target letter. Listen to this.” When asked about former President Donald Trump possibly being charged for January 6, DeSantis said, “This country is going down the road of criminalizing political differences, and I think that’s wrong. I do not want to see him —...

Current comparisons between gun-related deaths of children & teens vs deaths involving motor vehicles is MISLEADING ON PURPOSE. Majority of INCIDENTS INVOLVING FIREARMS ARE INTENTIONAL, involving murder, gang violence, or black-on-black crime, while most motor vehicle deaths are accidents.Reducing firearms ownership is NOT A SOLUTION to homicides and suicides.U.S.A. — Over 96% of firearms-related deaths of children and teens are intentional. Much has been written about the number of children and teens (people under the age of 20) who are killed in incidents involving firearms as being more significant than the number of people under 20 who are killed in...

George Conway said Wednesday on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” that it iujpossible Mark Meadows, former President Donald Trump’s chief of staff during the Capitol riot, has been cooperating with the federal investigation into Trump. Cooper said, “CNN’s reporting also that the Trump team has not identified anyone else who received a target letter, according to sources. I’m wondering what you read into that. Does it mean that other Trump associates aren’t being charged, or do you think there are other targets that haven’t been revealed yet? It also raises questions about if there is somebody who is cooperating? Is a...

Our nation has suffered a cultural hijacking, and we have a moral obligation to fight back. Do you remember the 1966 film The Sand Pebbles? In the closing scene, sailor Jake Holman (Steve McQueen) is killed by two rifle shots fired by soldiers during the Chinese Nationalist Northern Expedition. The two shots are a few seconds apart. After receiving the shock of the first bullet, the disoriented and moribund Holman mutters, “What happened?” Then, realizing his life is rapidly ebbing away, he shouts to the universe, “What the hell happened?!” With these words comes the crack of the second shot....

Just Stop Oil's bizarre slow-march story took an unexpected twist this morning - as lookalike counter-protesters infiltrated their ranks and foiled one of their demonstrations. Opposing activists - known only as Just Stop P***ing Everyone Off - stopped them in London in a military-style operation. The shadowy group camouflaged themselves in JSO's traditional orange T-shirts to blend in with the do-gooders. And as the climate change clowns began disrupting the traffic in Elephant and Castle, their new nemeses struck. Creating a ring of human bodies, JSPEO circled them and kettled them out of the street and onto the pavement. .....

"That you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light" (1 Pet. 2:9). You are an ambassador of the living God. The privilege of proclaiming the excellencies of God takes us back to 1 Peter 2:9, but we consider it here because it summarizes the purpose of all our Christian privileges. The Greek word translated "proclaim" is an unusual word used only here in the New Testament. It means "to advertise" or "publish," and refers to making something known that would otherwise be unknown. "Excellencies" speak of powerful and heroic deeds....

The US Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) has stepped into the fray to lower tensions between Washington and Beijing over chip exports, as well as calling for further restrictions to be put on ice. Relations between the two superpowers have become increasingly strained since the US launched a campaign to block shipments to China of advanced semiconductors to power AI, as well as choking sales of anything that might be used to develop and manufacture AI. China has since responded with its own sanctions, raising the risk of an all-out trade war. Now SIA, the trade body of the US semiconductor...

Becerra’s failure to reappoint Fauci in 2021 means “every action he took is potentially invalid.” Xavier Becerra, Joe Biden’s Health and Human Services Secretary, failed to reappoint 14 National Institutes of Health directors, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), charges a July 7 letter from the House Energy and.
