THE MAN IN THE GLASS I first heard the poem some years ago as a song performed by a former pop musician turned Christian entertainer. Its words had a powerful impact. They were a challenge to self-examination, and a warning about the consequences of life lived without integrity. They were a reminder that each of us must live with his or her self. And that we KNOW what's behind our image, no matter how carefully crafted, or how convincing it may be to others. I wonder if it might also speak to you. It's entitled "The Man in the...

Elections are supposed to be about the future, but Donald Trump is stuck in the past. He is dead set on running for president in 2024 by campaigning on the very worst part of his record. In his much-hyped return to the mainstream media, a CNN town hall on May 11, Trump doubled down on his claims that millions of fraudulent votes were the cause of his defeat in 2020. He said he had no regrets about his behavior before and during the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, and that he does not owe Mike Pence an apology for...

When hearing about rival Somali political factions rioting, one might assume the event occurred in Somalia, where political violence is the norm. But the mayhem in question actually was in Minneapolis, where, increasingly, being Somali is the norm. (Apparently, “Minnesota nice” hasn’t rubbed off.) Per The Post Millennial:A riot erupted in Minnesota during Democrat nominations for Minneapolis City Council on Saturday [May 13], which led to no candidate being chosen in Ward 10 after officials were forced to shut down the event over safety concerns.Somalian supporters of city council candidate Nasri Warsame turned to political violence and reportedly assaulted Minneapolis...

They call it the “debt wall,” and it is not the kind of wall that protects you. It’s the kind that might collapse and crush your village, or into which you might crash your car. Specifically, it is $1.5 trillion in commercial real estate debt, owed to banks, pension funds, and insurance companies before the end of 2025, and secured by a national portfolio of office, retail, industrial, and multifamily properties that may not be worth what they were five or 10 years ago when those loans got made. This wall just might blow up in everyone’s face. The country’s...

Trump slams Biden's high energy prices as Americans prepare to open wallets for holiday travel. President Donald Trump issued a message slamming Joe Biden’s destructive economic policies that have led to high gas prices and inflation for the American people just as Memorial Day weekend kicks off. “As you gather with family and friends this weekend, everything is more expensive – a lot more expensive, actually – because of Joe Biden’s reckless policies that have caused soaring energy costs and currency inflation like our country hasn’t seen for over 50 years. “This Memorial Day gas prices are up 48 percent...

International Man: In practically every country, the allowable limit for cash withdrawals and transactions continues to be lowered. Further, rampant currency debasement is lowering the real value of these ridiculous limits. Why are governments so intent on phasing out cash? What is really behind this coordinated effort? Doug Casey: Let me draw your attention to three truths that my friend Nick Giambruno has pointed out about money in bank accounts. #1. The money isn’t really yours. You’re just another unsecured creditor if the bank goes bust. #2. The money isn’t actually there. It’s been lent out to borrowers who are...

A town hall meeting held by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in Queens on Friday night descended into farce as the firebrand was called a 'piece of sh*t' and berated for her views on Ukraine, migrants, drag queen story hours and the debt ceiling. The meeting was held in the Corona neighborhood, AOC's constituency. Her constituents were not in welcoming mood, especially when the town hall moved to to the question and answer stage. 'American citizens before migrants,' one heckler yelled. Others chanted: 'America first.' Another shouted: 'We are on the verge of nuclear war with Russia. Are you going to stop...

General Valerii Zaluzhny, appointed in July 2021 to be Ukraine’s chief of the armed forces, also became a member of Ukraine’s National Security Council. Zaluzhny mysteriously went missing some weeks ago. Now, apparently, he has reappeared, if you believe a brief video released by the Ukrainian government. There were many rumors about Zaluzhny. The earliest one was that he was killed, along with a number of other senior Ukrainian officers, in a meeting at a command post somewhere in eastern Ukraine. That rumor soon was followed by another – that in fact he was badly wounded at the same command...

They’re going to fix it."Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) argued establishment Republicans are moving forward with an “illegal impeachment” against him for exposing their corruption. I finally broke down and got the blue-backed check mark for my Twitter account yesterday. So far it’s just for one month and, as a result, I’ve had to block far more accounts showing explicitly sexual photos and videos than was so before. Call me an oddball, but I don’t even like sex scenes in movies; they make me feel like I’m peering into someone’s bedroom window. I used to be a regular reader of several liberal and leftist sites. But, as my rightward conversion progressed, I began to find them rather annoying, the main annoyance being the obsession with...
