Year: A(I).First readingActs 28:16-20,30-31 ©In Rome, Paul proclaimed the kingdom of God without hindrance from anyoneOn our arrival in Rome Paul was allowed to stay in lodgings of his own with the soldier who guarded him. After three days he called together the leading Jews. When they had assembled, he said to them, ‘Brothers, although I have done nothing against our people or the customs of our ancestors, I was arrested in Jerusalem and handed over to the...

It has been traditional as well as practical politics for the national political parties to allow the losing candidates, if they perform well in the primaries, to speak at the national convention. Think Ronald Reagan in 1976, Teddy Kennedy in 1980, and Bernie Sanders in 2016. Okay, let us assume that Robert F. Kennedy does very well in the primaries but loses (most likely due to DNC cheating). So will they let him SPEAK at the Democrat National Convention next year?Of course, allowing him to speak would be a disaster since he most likely would call out the Deep State...

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen changed the drop dead date on a US default from June 1 to June 5, daring Speaker McCarthy to step over the line. The debt ceiting is so urgent that Biden went on vacation to Delware for Memorial Day weekend. In fact, Biden and Yellen expect McCarthy to dance. White House and Republican negotiators tentatively narrowed differences but were still clashing Friday on key issues as the Treasury Department signaled extra time was available before a potential US default. The new so-called X-date buys negotiators for House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and President Joe Biden more...

Indigo, a new community outside of Houston, is a different type of residential development. Led by farmers, the project will be anchored by a 42-acre working farm. When Scott Snodgrass and Clayton Garrett started their CSA in 2015, the Houston metro area wasn’t that familiar with the concept. They say their initial 350 CSA members roughly doubled the CSA membership in the area. With their 60 acres of vegetables, they became one of the biggest direct-to-consumer farms in the area—and they relished the opportunity to get more folks connected with their food and teach them about agriculture. The pair ran...

Despite a couple of recent, high-profile legal victories for religious freedom, the Biden administration is not abandoning its attacks on faith-based organizations—including religious colleges and universities, as well as religious groups on public campuses. Quite the contrary. The administration, undeterred, continues its long-term strategy of whittling away at religious liberties rather than confronting them head-on. Before we explore that strategy, let’s first take a moment to celebrate the wins. For those of us engaged in this battle, who often feel like we’re fighting a rearguard action against an overwhelming foe, it’s important to recognize that we are not, in fact,...

WASHINGTON, Tuesday, May 26. Up to 10 o'clock to-night, no later intelligence from Vicksburgh than that communicated to the public to-day had been received by the President. It is not believed that GRANT himself has recently sent any telegrams to the Government respecting his movements. It is understood that a dispatch received to-day states that another line of defences has been discovered in the rear of Vicksburgh, which it would be necessary to take by storm. WASHINGTON, Tuesday, May 26. It is stated that a dispatch has been received from Gen. GRANT, speaking of an intercepted dispatch from JEFF. DAVIS,...

A Target in Layton was evacuated after officials said they were informed of a bomb threat to multiple Utah locations. An employee of the Panda Express located next to the Target at 815 West 2000 North confirmed that multiple officers were on scene with a K-9 team by 1 p.m. on Friday. They said all of the stores occupants —staff and customers — appeared to have been evacuated to the parking lot. Sgt. John Ottesen with Layton Police said bomb threats were made to Target stores in Layton, Salt Lake, Taylorsville and Provo. Officers began the investigation after two local...

Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. 1...

What do Kyle Rittenhouse, Donald Trump, Nick Sandmann, Mark Houck, Sarah Comrie (the so-called “Bike Karen”) and Daniel Penny all have in common? All of them are victims of the “two-tiered justice system” and the leftist media court of public opinion. Conservatives often protest this double standard, understandably since none of these people committed any crime. Attorney General Merrick Garland’s Justice Department has effectively become a symbol for this kind of persecution in tandem with its local lackeys, criminal foot soldiers and the corporate press. Crying about double standards or “two-tiered justice,” however, misses the point. There is no “double...

(Daily readings from the USCCB)It is this disciple who testifies to these things and has written them, and we know that his testimony is true. There are also many other things that Jesus did, but if these were to be described individually, I do not think the whole world would contain the books that would be written. John 21:24–25As we conclude our Easter season, we are given the conclusion of the Gospel of Saint John to ponder. Recall that John’s Gospel has been a central focus throughout the Easter Season. Therefore, if you have been prayerfully reading the Gospel for...

“Doctor” Jill wants so badly to be First Lady for another four years. The desperation is palpable. Jill spoke at the Ronald Reagan Institute Summit on Education yesterday and, well…let’s just say, her remarks fell flat.I’ve visited red states and blue states and I’ve found that the common values that unite us are deeper than our divisions”-Jill BidenAfter saying this line, “Doctor” Jill paused, waiting for applause. When she did not get any, she was shocked at the non-reaction:And, um, I thought you might clap for that.”-Jill BidenReally, Jill? Why on earth would you think anyone would clap for that...

"Florida is a terrible place, really terrible, a hellhole, really," said Trump. "Only very, very stupid people live in Florida. That's how bad it is. So bad, really bad. But it would be a wonderful, perfect place if Ron DeSanctimonious, Meatball Ron, hadn't driven it into the ground--like a dog. Now, only very bad dummies still live there. And I know a thing or two about really bad dummies. Sad!" Trump then vowed he would work with CNN, MSNBC, and Dr. Fauci to ensure DeSantis didn't win and then make the entire country just like Florida, where stupid people live....

It is estimated that every eighth child suffers from a mental health disorder. Several predictors of children's mental problems have been identified, but much remains uncharted. Previous research suggests that low vitamin D levels in early childhood may be one factor increasing the risk of mental health problems in later life. A recent study presents new information on the association between vitamin D intake and mental health. A study by a team of researchers has investigated whether a daily vitamin D3 supplement higher than the recommended dose in early childhood reduces the risk of psychiatric symptoms at school age. The...

About 3 million Americans live with cardiovascular pacemakers. But over time, scar tissue or blood clots can form around the leads, or wires, that carry the electrical impulses from the pacemaker to the heart. Scar tissue or clots may hinder the flow of blood, potentially resulting in swollen extremities or pain. However, the incidence and clinical impact of such lead-related venous obstruction, or LRVO, among patients with pacemaker devices is not well characterized. Physician-researchers found that the incidence of symptomatic LRVO among patients implanted with cardiovascular implantable electronic devices to be four times higher than previously reported—with only a minority...

Let’s give the Ukrainian Government of Volodomyr Zelensky credit for one thing — they are world class liars. Yesterday I wrote about the attempted attack on the Russian ship, the Ivan Khurs, by three maritime drones and simply acknowledged that there was a video that claimed to show one of the drones hitting a ship. It was implied that the ship was the Ivan Khurs but there was no identifying information to corroborate the claim. Today we know the truth. Ukraine lied. The Ivan Khurs pulled into port in the Black Sea on its own power with no visible damage....

A Burger King customer allegedly threw a milk bottle at an employee in midtown Omaha after reportedly being informed the order was $1 less than expected. Around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, the employee was working the drive-thru at the fast food restaurant located at 5155 Center St., Omaha police reported. A customer, described as a middle-aged White woman with gray hair, pulled into the drive-thru in a white Dodge Caravan with Iowa license plates and was originally told the order would be about $8, according to a police report. When the customer pulled up to the window, the employee handed them...
