The Illinois Republican Party remained mostly silent during the April 4th election cycle, with the exception of two social media posts encouraging people to vote – but behind the scenes, the IL GOP general counsel and top advisor to chairman Don Tracy was working as a paid legal advisor to an anti-grassroots slate of candidates, and approving mailers with the IL GOP postage discount – despite Tracy’s comments that the state party wasn’t going to get involved in the election, in another dig aimed directly at the conservative base of the party. Tracy and the IL GOP despise the grassroots...

New Jersey’s latest round of tougher gun laws faced a setback on Tuesday, as a federal judge blocked the state from enforcing much of its ban on concealed carry in "sensitive" public places. U.S. District Judge Renee Maria Bumb, appointed to the bench by President George W. Bush, found the state’s attempt to restrict legal gun owners from carrying firearms at roughly two dozen public spaces to be unconstitutional — for all but playgrounds and youth sporting events, on the grounds that it interfered with Second Amendment rights. “The State has failed to offer any evidence that law-abiding responsible citizens...

Archaeologists in Pompeii recently unearthed the well-preserved remains of two people believed to have died in an earthquake that accompanied the infamous volcanic eruption there almost 1,500 years ago.The two male skeletons were found beneath a collapsed wall in the Casti Amanti, or House of Chaste Lovers, the site said in a statement Tuesday.Evidence suggests the wall that trapped both men crumbled during an earthquake that shook the area as Mount Vesuvius buried the Roman city under volcanic material in October 79 AD.Around 20% of the city’s population perished in the catastrophic Italian eruption, the site stated. The Casti Amanti...

Beavers, muskrats, rabbits, opossums, weasels and several types of squirrel, including chipmunks, are now legal to trap and kill in Michigan without a permit under recent nuisance wildlife regulation changes. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) expanded the list of critter species that landowners can kill to prevent property damage during the state Natural Resources Commission meeting on Thursday, May 11 in Lansing. Acting DNR Director Shannon Lott approved the change under her office’s authority. The commission did not vote or discuss the matter in detail last week. The goal is to reduce conflicts between humans and animals as...

Georgia parents were arrested for child abuse and negligence after their starving 10-year-old son was found wandering their neighborhood looking for a grocery store where he could beg for food. They said the boy was intentionally starved and weighed only about 36 pounds when he was rescued, nearly the weight of an average 4-year-old. The parents were accused of locking the child inside his bedroom and leaving him alone in the home for “extended periods of time, and on multiple occasions, with no access to lights, food, clothing or adult interaction and/or assistance,” according to court documents. They also allegedly...

US President Joe Biden on Tuesday denounced antisemitism and reiterated his support for Israel, as he spoke at a White House event in honor of Jewish Heritage Month. Biden condemned antisemitism as a “stain on the soul of America”, and noted that it was the 2017 white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, where protesters carried torches and chanted phrases including “Jews will not replace us,” that convinced him to run for the White House in 2020. “That’s when I knew we had to stay engaged in the work of our time. Hate never goes away,” Biden said, before pointing out that...

NASHVILLE – A court filing made by The Covenant School’s legal team on Monday seeks to intervene in ongoing lawsuits that demand the public release of shooter Audrey Hale‘s writings. The National Police Association (NPA) and Tennessee Firearms Association (TFA) have separately filed suits against the city with the same objective. These lawsuits emerged as the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) was in the process of reviewing the writings, referred to as a manifesto, to determine their potential for public disclosure. The school argues that the release of the information “could pose security and safety risks for the school, its...

Gunmaker Heckler & Koch tweeted agreement Tuesday with Miller Lite’s woke campaign against using sexy women — “bunnies” — to sell products, then doubled down in a second tweet, describing ad campaigns that objectify women as “trash marketing.” On Monday, Graham Allen tweeted the Miller Light commercial, expressing his shock that Miller Lite appeared to repeat Bud Light’s mistake. He wrote, “Did NOBODY learn from Bud Light’s COSTLY mistake? Miller Lite just dropped this WOKE advertisement!!! When will these beer companies learn????”

"The Russians have had a Bakhmut fixation," said Mick Ryan, a retired Maj. Gen. in the Australian army. The country reclaimed territory near the city last week after a series of surprise attacks. Ukraine is gaining momentum and reclaiming territory in Bakhmut after months of brutal and bloody fighting in the country's east that left thousands of Russian and Ukrainian soldiers dead. Ukraine looked to shake up the essentially stalemated frontline near the one-time mining town this month, which has been left a decimated shell of a city after months of attrition warfare so ruthless it has become known as...

This was a United States government operation to conduct full-throated surveillance on a U.S. presidential candidate, and then remove that candidate from the office of the presidency after his victory in the 2016 election. With John Durham outlining in granular details how the FBI, DOJ and larger intelligence apparatus acted politically to weaponize government on behalf of an allied presidential candidate in Hillary Clinton, a bigger question remains. There never was any merit to the Trump-Russia nonsense, so what exactly were Robert Mueller and Andrew Weissmann doing for two years? Using the silo defense as a method of obfuscation, John...

In secret audio obtained by The Tennessee Star, radical leftists who plan to “protest” the upcoming August special session of the General Assembly say they have armed security at the ready. “Also, like there are groups in Nashville who do this – keep in mind – who like, if at any point you need armed security at a protest, there are people who we trust as a community to show up and do that,” said an organizer of the Saturday meeting. The Star obtained the audio from an inside source who attended the meeting, and will be releasing it in...

"After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. "And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. "And round about the throne...

SUNDERLAND, MD — After catching his teenage son looking at pornography, local father Daniel Gouge sat his son down for a heart-to-heart talk before meting out justice by giving him a copy of the latest swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated, which features Martha Stewart on the cover. "Son, women are not objects," Gouge said. "And I'm afraid the only way to help you understand that is by showing you Martha Stewart in a saucy bikini." He added, "Look at her, son. She's 81. Older than grandma." "Ugh, Dad! No! My punishment is too great to bear!" the 14-year-old reportedly cried...
