Just heard on the local Boston news that DJT will hold a rally in New Hampshire on Thursday. It's gonna be at a Double Tree Hotel but I didn't catch the name of the town. Unless it's an "invitation only" event I'll be there...even if it's right up at the Canadian border!

Scientists at Stanford University's Advanced Energy Systems Laboratory have developed what appears to be a miracle generator that can run on pretty much any fuel source. Called a linear generator, this ultimate flexi-fuel generator might be the "holy grail" of generators for many industries. The product of 14 years of development, this generator is a genuine breakthrough as it can handle and switch between different fuel sources on the fly without losing power. While that might sound like science fiction, it is, in fact, very much a reality. It also has few moving parts, doesn't require lubrication, and produces very...

OPINION: This article may contain commentary which reflects the author's opinion.House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan believes there’s been a seismic shift regarding allegations against President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.Jordan suggested “something is up” with the probe because of a new interest in the story by many of the same media outlets that initially dismissed reports of corruption evidence stemming from materials and emails obtained from a laptop he reportedly abandoned at a computer repair store in Delaware in 2019.“Well, what happened to that is you had 51 intelligence officers sign a letter saying that this Hunter...

Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra violated the Hatch Act after he advocated for the election of a Democrat, a new investigation found. Special Counsel Henry J. Kerner said in a letter to President Joe Biden that Becerra spoke “in his official capacity” at an awards gala in September of 2022, breaking the law. “As explained in the accompanying report, OSC concluded that Secretary Becerra violated the Hatch Act by expressing support for Senator Alex Padilla’s reelection while speaking in his official capacity at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Annual Awards Gala on September 15, 2022,” Kerner wrote. “In...

A federal appeals court on Monday overturned Berkeley, California's first-in-the-nation ban on natural gas in new construction, agreeing with restaurant owners who argued the city bypassed federal energy regulations when it approved the ordinance. The measure, which took effect in 2020 to cheers from environmentalists, was intended to reduce emissions of greenhouse gasses that contribute to global warming. With some exceptions, it banned new residential and commercial buildings from installing natural gas piping in favor of electrical lines. Thelawsuit by the California Restaurant Association claimed the regulation violated federal law that gives the U.S. government authority to set energy-efficiency standards...

You may or may not have heard of xenobots, a kind of Frankenfrog creation that involves researchers turning frog embryo cells into tiny bio-machines that can move around, push or carry objects, and work together. These ephemeral beings were first made by a team of scientists from Tufts University and the University of Vermont in 2020. The goal behind building these “bots” was to understand how cells communicate with one another. Here’s a breakdown of the hard facts behind how xenobots actually work, and what they are currently used for. What are xenobots? A “living robot” can sound like a...

In November 2007, the original iPhone was barely four months old, Barack Obama was considered a long shot to win the Democratic nomination for president, and Steph Curry was a sophomore playing basketball for little-known Davidson College. That same month, the TransWest Express Transmission Project filed its first request with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), seeking permission to build a 732-mile electric transmission line to connect a wind farm in southern Wyoming with a power grid serving the rapidly growing area around Las Vegas. Last week, the BLM granted permission for the line to be built. We've blown through...

Donald Trump marked his return to Instagram after more than two years with posts promoting his line of NFT trading cards. The former president, who was previously suspended from Meta’s social media services following the Jan. 6 riot, celebrated his first post in 118 weeks by announcing a “SERIES 2” of his digital cards. The NFTs, which were launched as a “major announcement” in December, depict the 76-year-old as a cartoon cowboy, a sheriff, a race car driver and in other fantastical outfits. The first series of NFTs featured 45,000 cards, which sold out in a day and reportedly made...

In my comments at Brookings on bail I pointed out that: In New York City (2008-2013) most of the people arrested had prior interactions with the criminal justice system. On average, each arrested person had 3.2 prior felony arrests and 5 prior misdemeanor arrests—convictions were considerably fewer than arrests, which suggests to me that the system isn’t convicting enough people. Interpretations may differ, but, in any case, the typical arrested person has been arrested multiple times previously. …I think most Americans would be surprised and upset to learn that by far the majority of the arrestees are released prior to...

SECOND WEEK OF EASTERJohn 3:7b-15 Friends, in today’s Gospel, Jesus declares that he must be lifted up to bring eternal life to believers. Why would God’s salvation of the human race have to include something as horrifying as crucifixion? We live in a time when the human predicament is regularly denied, explained away, or ignored. Despite the massive counter-evidence from the moral disasters of the last century, we are still beguiled by the myth of progress: with just enough technical advancement, psychological insight, and personal liberation, we will solve our problems. But with this sort of stupidity and superficiality the Bible has...

Former Arkansas governor and 2024 presidential candidate Asa Hutchinson (R) says former President Trump has “taken us back to bitterness,” urging the GOP to move on as Trump campaigns for another White House term. “Why does the party need to move on from Donald Trump?” NBC News correspondent Vaughn Hillyard asked Hutchinson in an interview aired Tuesday. “Because Donald Trump has taken us back to bitterness. He’s taken us back to what’s a personal vendetta. Whenever you look at what he wants to do as president, it’s more about getting even with his political enemies than leading our country, and...
