2 hours ago DC Draino on DeSantis: "How is he gonna jump up to the big leagues? Or lead us through WW3?" Bannon: Talk to me about your assessment of Ron DeSantis. He had the whole weekend to work on this. What is your assessment on how he pulled it off today? DC: I think it's a tough day when you get outflanked to the right by Kevin McCarthy, which was very suprising. I haven't said a bad thing about DeSantis despite being an open Trump supporter, endorsing him for 2024. But today was the first day that I let...

A New York federal judge on Monday ruled that the U.S. Virgin Islands and women who accuse the late investor Jeffrey Epstein of sexual abuse can proceed with lawsuits claiming that JPMorgan Chase knowingly benefited from participating in Epstein's sex-trafficking scheme. In addition, the judge allowed parts of a separate, similar lawsuit by Epstein's accusers against Deutsche Bank, including the claim that that bank also knowingly benefited. The four-page ruling by Manhattan District Judge Jed Rakoff came in response to motions from JPMorgan and Deutsche Bank to dismiss the three lawsuits.

There's been a trend this NHL season that has nothing to do with the sport's on-ice product. Several teams have announced plans to hold Pride Nights, during which players wear jerseys celebrating the LGBTQ+ community either during warmups or games -- or both. But many of those plans have been scraped by teams after being made public. The most recent example came on March 7, when Minnesota Wild players chose to not wear special Pride Night jerseys that had been designed. Below is a deeper dive into why this is happening among NHL teams.

Following are UN Secretary-General António Guterres’ remarks, as delivered, at the High-Level Special Event marking the International Day to Combat Islamophobia, in New York, today:I thank Pakistan and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for focusing attention — and calling for action — to stamp out the poison of Islamophobia. The world’s nearly 2 billion Muslims reflect humanity in all its magnificent diversity. They hail from all corners of the world. They are Arabs, Africans, Europeans, Americans and Asians. But they often face bigotry and prejudice for no other reason than their faith. This anti-Muslim hatred takes many forms. There is...

In Urso v. Mohammad, (D CT, March 10, 2023), a Catholic priest sued a town's health director over COVID orders that cancelled religious gatherings and congregational prayers. The court concluded that the health Directive violated plaintiff's free exercise rights, but left for trial the question of whether plaintiff suffered an injury, saying in part: [N]ot all secular businesses in the Town of Orange were closed, and the Directive itself is unquestionably stricter than the Governor’s Executive Orders, which imposed capacity limits on religious institutions in line with those imposed on other secular businesses, and never cancelled all religious services completely.......

The day after Kentucky lawmakers rapidly changed and passed a bill to include measures banning gender-affirming care for minors, the state’s top education official decried the “sweeping and harmful” legislation. Kentucky Education Commissioner Jason Glass said the latest version of Senate Bill 150 “contains provisions that will put our young people at risk, have the government interfere with decisions between doctors, patients and families and puts Kentucky at the front of a series of similar hateful, ignorant and shameful efforts around the country.” In the fall, the Kentucky Department of Education will host a “summit in support of LGBTQIA+ people...

If you’ve ever taken part in the weekly VIP Gold live chat with HotAir’s Ed Morrissey and myself, you’ve probably heard me utter the phrase “everything is stupid and it’s only getting worse.” I’m sure there are exceptions to that rule, but when it comes to the arguments of anti-gunners, that phrase definitely applies. The latest example? The anti-gun left’s full-throttled freakout over a Second Amendment-themed hoodie that apparently led to some sort of disciplinary action against a Utah high school student; a situation highlighted by Sen. Rand Paul over the weekend in a tweet that appears to have now...

An influential US medical panel is warning about the dangers of a rapidly spreading deadly fungus — just a week after the hit zombie show The Last of Us wrapped up. The American College of Physicians (ACAP) said the rise and spread of antibiotic-resistant cases of Candida auris, also known as C auris, is 'particularly concerning'. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) already described the fungus, which kills up to 60 percent of people it infects, as an 'urgent threat' in 2019. A person is infected after coming into direct contact with a contaminated object. It spreads from...

Former President Donald Trump went scorched earth on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis after he weighed in on his potential indictment in the Stormy Daniels case brought by prosecutors in New York. Trump, in a post on Truth Social, raised questions about DeSantis’s sexuality and once again peddled his groomer smear against the Florida Republican who is seen as a potential presidential candidate in 2024. “Ron DeSanctimonious will probably find out about FALSE ACCUSATIONS & FAKE STORIES sometime in the future, as he gets older, wiser, and better known, when he’s unfairly and illegally attacked by a woman, even classmates that...

Gee made sure to bring up the arrest of Michael Cohen, an attorney for Trump for more than a decade, in 2018. Cohen was sentenced to three years in federal prison and was ordered to pay a $50,000 fine for tax evasion. “But one of the things he was guilty of was campaign finance violations, which stemmed from what happened with Stormy Daniels,” Gee continued. “So if you have sex with a porn star, that’s really nobody’s business. However, if you pay that porn star to keep quiet about it so that you can win an election, and reimburse yourself...
