Decision comes as officers flee the force in record numbers ... The New York Police Department is lowering its recruitment standards to allow more women on the force, a decision that comes as the Defund the Police movement drives officers out of the ranks in record numbers. The NYPD this month removed its 1.5-mile timed run requirement in the hopes of increasing its applicant pool after too many women failed the test. Mayor Eric Adams (D.) ultimately approved the decision, despite internal disagreement, the New York Post reported. The decision to lower standards comes as the NYPD faces a significant...

California regulators voted Wednesday to ban gas furnaces and water heaters in one of the state’s most populated regions, a move that will likely require locals to undergo costly home renovations.

Cry for Argentina! Their central bank boosted its benchmark Leliq rate by 300 basis points to 78%. The monetary authority’s board considered the increase in response to accelerating inflation and after leaving the key rate unchanged for several months. Of course, the US Federal Reserve is going in the opposite direction to combat the US banking crisis created by inflation and Yellen’s “Too low for too long” Fed policies. I am beginning to wonder in Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot are the same person.

Yet another scandal at the poorly led Department of Transportation ... Most Americans don't like having to change their clocks twice a year for daylight saving time. An AP-NORC poll from late 2019 found that 71 percent of Americans preferred a permanent year-long time system. There's a bipartisan bill designed to eliminate the controversial "fall back, spring forward," but it's being held up in part because of an unlikely source: Pete Buttigieg, the scandal-plagued secretary of transportation. The Washington Post reports that Congress is unlikely to pass legislation anytime soon. The Sunshine Protection Act, cosponsored by Sens. Marco Rubio (R.,...

It wasn’t until America’s crooked fact-checkers said Joe Biden had no intention of banning gas stoves that I was certain Joe Biden would ban gas stoves. And now we know he is — 96 percent of them. “Yes, the Biden administration is coming for your gas stove,” writes Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-AZ) in the Washington Examiner. It’s a backdoor ban by way of outrageous regulations only four percent of gas stoves will meet. And it’s being done, not through democracy and our elected representatives, but by fascist bureaucrats in the Department of Energy. Yes, Virginia, the Deep State is real…...

Eggs, gas, and now electric vehicles. Inflation is hitting electricity rates, making EV home charging a more miserable experience for some drivers at the absolute worst time. A new J.D. Power study of EV owners who use Level 2 home-charging stations found that overall satisfaction in the home charging experiences has declined 12 points since last year. A major factor in this decline in satisfaction was the inflationary rise in electricity prices, the study found. This could pose a real problem for the EV market, as home charging has often been held up as a solution to daily range-anxiety issues....

Transgender Assistant Secretary of Health Rachel Levine says that gender-affirming care for minors has the 'highest support' of the Biden administration. Levine has promised that medically changing children's gender will soon be normalized, praising the controversial medical intervention which has been banned in several states at the Pediatric Grand Rounds Session at Children's Medical Center in Hartford. Levine was invited to speak at the event about the Florida Parental Rights in Education law and the political implications of gender reassignment surgery taking place at children's hospitals. 'I think that it's not going to be politically advantageous. It wasn't particularly in...

Michael Caine turned 90 this week. I can hardly believe it. Caine was born in 1933, and like his irreplaceable contemporaries — Robert Duvall (Born 1931) and Clint Eastwood (born 1930) — he keeps on keeping on. How fortunate we are for that. If you read Caine’s superb 1992 autobiography, What’s It All About?, you’ll discover that his true contemporaries were legends like Peter O’Toole and Terence Stamp and that he grew frustrated watching their careers explode while he scraped along… But he hung in there, and stardom finally arrived at the ripe old age of 31 with Zulu (1964),...

The Federal Reserve Bank of the United States has announced that it is launching an instant payment transfer service called “FedNow Service,” which has features of a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) and some analysts believe is the first big step towards a “digital dollar.” On Wednesday, within hours of our reporting that the Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank failures could spur renewed calls for the U.S. to implement a CBDC, the Federal Reserve announced that the U.S. is rolling out the FedNow instant payment transfer service in July. “The Federal Reserve announced that the FedNow Service will start...

(Last Updated On: March 10, 2023) ST. PATRICK’S DAY St. Patrick’s Day kicks off a worldwide celebration also known as the Feast of St. Patrick. On March 17th, many will wear green in honor of the Irish and decorate with shamrocks. According to lore, the wearing of the green tradition dates back to a story written about St. Patrick in 1726. St. Patrick (c. AD 385–461) used the shamrock to illustrate the Holy Trinity and worn green clothing. And while the story is unlikely to be true, many will revel in the Irish heritage and eat traditional Irish fare, too....

(Last Updated On: March 10, 2023) NATIONAL CORNED BEEF AND CABBAGE DAY On March 17th National Corned Beef and Cabbage Day coincide with St. Patrick’s Day in the United States. #CornedBeefAndCabbageDay To “corn” something is simply to preserve it in a salty brine (the term corn refers to the coarse grains of salt used for curing). Corned beef is a salt-cured beef product. Traditional Irish Corned Beef and Cabbage recipes used salt pork or a bacon joint instead of corned beef. However, sometime in the mid-1800s when the Irish immigrated to America, they found Jewish corned beef very similar in...

An armed robber was shot in the chest while holding a CPL holder’s friend at gunpoint so he could steal a wallet outside a Detroit store, officials said. The shooting happened at 9:53 p.m. Feb. 8, but the details of the incident were revealed March 10 in a criminal complaint. CPL holder describes shooting On Feb. 8, Shot-Spotter detected three gunshots in the parking lot of Carmen’s Delicatessen in Detroit. Police officers rushed to the scene and were flagged down by two people, they said. One man approached officers with his hands over his head and told them he owns...

Rainn Wilson posted a series of tweets accusing Hollywood of having an "anti-Christian bias." He specifically called out HBO's "The Last of Us" for having a villainous Christian character. Fox News later wrote about his tweets, and Wilson criticized the news agency. "I do think there is an anti-Christian bias in Hollywood," Wilson posted on Twitter over the weekend. "As soon as the David character in 'The Last of Us' started reading from the Bible I knew that he was going to be a horrific villain. Could there be a Bible-reading preacher on a show who is actually loving and...

If you think your money is safe in your bank account, Biden has other plans. A former bank insider is going public with a warning. He’s uncovered how Biden plans to take control of American bank accounts. In his controversial message, this insider holds nothing back: “I believe [Biden’s new program is] now designed to target ALL American citizens who dare disagree with the Dems’ progressive agenda.” Perhaps most disturbing of all is how this program was the original brainchild of Obama. For decades, this insider has helped the financial elite avoid some of the worst financial bloodbaths in American...

Since the early days of Henry Ford, Michigan was the proud symbol of America’s industrial might. But then, starting in the 1970s, things went south — in part because of the might of the unions that ran the state’s political machine. That’s when Michigan transitioned into the sad symbol of closed factories: the American “Rust Belt.” Flint, Michigan, became a ghost town. From the 1970s to the early 2000s, Detroit lost nearly half its population. Whole neighborhoods were bulldozed, and homes were selling for less than $10,000 as poor and minority residents fled the area's crime, lousy schools, high unemployment,...

“Every day this proxy battle in Ukraine continues, we risk global war,” President Trump said. “We must be absolutely clear that our objective is to IMMEDIATELY have a total cessation of hostilities. All shooting has to stop. This is the central issue. We need PEACE without delay.” “There must also be a complete commitment to dismantling the entire globalist neo-con establishment that is perpetually dragging us into endless wars, pretending to fight for freedom and democracy abroad, while they turn us into a third-world country and a third-world dictatorship right here at home. The State Department, the defense bureaucracy, the...

Vice President Kamala Harris added her voice to both Democrats and Republicans who have criticized Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis this week for his comments referring to the Russian invasion of Ukraine as a "territorial dispute." "If you really understand the issues, you probably would not make statements like that," Harris told late night host Stephen Colbert on Wednesday. Harris criticized DeSantis' lack of foreign policy experience, noting that as vice president, she has met with "over 100" foreign leaders and gained an understanding of the "significance, again, of international rules and norms."
