Why Can’t I Be a Good Trad? The rumors swirling – nearly certainly true at this point – of the realization of a demonic plot, long in the making, to completely kill the Latin Mass and bury those who worship according to her rites have reached a dizzying fever pitch. Just today, the Remnant ran a piece by Diane Montagna claiming that the forthcoming document to be shat out by the whatever Roman dicastery currently jockeying to be the antipope’s sphincter of the month will include a prohibition of ever celebrating the vetus ordo on any Sunday of the year. That’s...

China's President Xi Jinping will deliver a "peace speech" on the anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine, Italy's foreign minister said on Friday, apparently continuing Beijing's line of urging peace while avoiding condemnation of its ally Russia. Antonio Tajani told RAI Radio 1 that he used a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Rome on Thursday to urge Beijing to use all its powers to persuade Russia to end the war while ensuring Ukraine's independence. "He told me that Xi will deliver a peace speech on the anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine," Tajani said.

After a year of hard fighting there are a rush of observers trying to make sense of the current balance of power in Ukraine. The focus in often on (often small) movements in the frontlines, casualties, or the performance of particular platforms and systems. Those things matter, but wars are not generally fought to take individual trenches or solely to inflict casualties. They are fought for strategic objectives. In this episode I dig into Russia's history of Empire, its modern strategic objectives, and try to assess whether or not the war in Ukraine represents a success or failure by Russia's...

One would think that after over two years, thousands of hours of video, non-stop media coverage, and dozens of high-profile court cases that nothing new and surprising will be revealed about the January 6 mostly peaceful protests. Yet there are bombshells dropping fairly regularly lately and almost all of them point to the whole thing being a Deep State setup. The latest comes from a thread by Twitter user @FreeStateWill who posted information that as unearthed during a January 6 trial hearing last week. According to the new information, members of the Metropolitan Police Departments were in the January 6...

SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio man who said a hospital failed to sedate him during an outpatient procedure last fall went as far as to get an independent drug screening to prove the powerful drugs were not in his system. “When I never had that moment where I either felt loopy or had any time loss, or anything like that, it was clear to me that that had not been done,” said Ian Chase, describing his visit to University Health’s Robert B. Green Campus on Sept. 27.

[Catholic Caucus] Pope Francis Must Stop the MadnessThe situation of the Catholic Church at present is one of grave disorder, due in large part to the willingness of Pope Francis to say, do, and tolerate things that no pope in history has ever said, done, or tolerated. His recent off-the-cuff remarks instructing priests not to deny absolution to anyone who comes to Confession, for instance. This is in direct contradiction to the teaching of the Church concerning the requisite dispositions required for the valid reception of God’s pardon in the sacrament of penance.Penitents who, for whatever reason, refuse to repent of...

Former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R), who is considering a 2024 presidential bid, said on Sunday that he might not run if his candidacy would inadvertently help boost former President Trump’s reelection campaign. “If you thought your candidacy was gonna contribute to inadvertently helping Donald Trump, would that be a reason not to run?” NBC News anchor Chuck Todd asked Hogan on “Meet the Press.”

When a child with diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) requires intensive care, clinicians often monitor blood ketone levels to determine whether treatment has successfully reversed the abnormal ketone production. Yet, the utility of blood ketone levels to diagnose DKA or determine whether a child's DKA has resolved have not been rigorously studied. Elise Tremblay, MD shows that a particular value of plasma beta-hydroxybutyrate (BOHB) can signal that DKA has clinically resolved and intensive treatment can stop. Widespread adoption of this defined endpoint could remove some of the uncertainty from monitoring DKA. It could potentially end intensive care at the right time—instead of...

Montana State Rep. Ed Stafman (D-Bozeman) has proposed an amendment to a state law that prevents pro-life doctors and nurses from being forced to participate in performing abortions. His amendment would add a pro-abortion exception allowing for unborn babies to be aborted if the woman's sincerely held religious beliefs require it. Stafman explained that "if a doctor or nurse is allowed to refuse to abort an unwanted child as a matter of conscience, shouldn't a devout pro-abortion believer have the right to refuse to give birth as a matter of conscience? The Satanic Temple asserts that abortion is a sacred...

Bone has the amazing capacity to regenerate. After a fracture, bone will heal without scarring in healthy people. In aging individuals, or for people with diseases like diabetes, approximately 10% of long bone fractures fail to heal well and require growth factors—or substances to help stimulate regeneration of specific tissues—to heal completely. Two growth factors—bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP2) and platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF)—are currently approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to assist with bone healing. But combining them may make them less effective, Ivo Kalajzic, professor and Sanja Novak, instructor. Their study evaluated the osteoanabolic—or bone forming—effects...
