A former MSNBC host claims she was told she needed to have the network president vet her commentary if it included any criticism of Hillary Clinton before she ran for president in 2016. Krystal Ball, a former Democratic Party congressional candidate from Virginia, was a co-host of “The Cycle” from 2012 until 2015 for the left-leaning cable news channel owned by Comcast. Ball, 41, recalled her MSNBC monolgue in 2014 when she urged then-Sen. Memorial of Saints Cyril, Monk, and Methodius, Bishop; Mark 8:14–21 Friends, in today’s Gospel, Jesus warns his disciples against the leaven of the Pharisees and of Herod. Conversely, he wanted them to be the leaven that would transform their culture. The Second Vatican Council spoke of the universal call to holiness—the summons of all the baptized to be a transforming leaven in the wider society. The Vatican II fathers wanted to inspire a generation of great Catholic professionals in the hopes that such people would carry the holiness they learned in the Church out to their areas of specialization in the...

In recent years China has been purchasing vast amounts of US land. Texas and Florida are considering enacting legislation that would restrict how much real estate Chinese citizens can buy in their states. Mao Ning, spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry, complained that "such rules would violate our free market rights. Over the years, Chinese enterprises have invested in the United States and made important contributions to promoting domestic employment and economic development in the United States. This is mutually beneficial to both countries." Mao added that "free trade also helps promote peace. If the exchange of cash for land...

In the lead-up to the 2020 election, out-of-state dark money poured into Alaska to hijack the state’s elections by tricking voters into implementing a ranked-choice voting system. Now, following a midterm election fraught with record-low turnout and confused voters, Alaska’s conservatives are fighting to take back control of their state’s electoral process.Known as Alaskans for Honest Elections, the grassroots organization is leading a statewide signature-collecting effort to put an initiative on the 2024 ballot to repeal Alaska’s ranked-choice voting (RCV) system, which voters narrowly adopted in 2020. Last month, Alaska Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom certified the group’s application for a...

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg copped bipartisan heat Monday when he failed to address the catastrophic Ohio train derailment which released toxic chemicals into the air this month — but joked about Chinese spy balloons and moaned about a lack of diversity in the construction industry. ... “It’s had its challenges. I mean, if you look at what the American transportation systems have faced in the last two or three years partly because of the pandemic, we’ve faced issues from container shipping to airline cancellations … Now we got balloons,” the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, awkwardly joked. But the...

Heart failure is often identified only when the heart has already deteriorated. This is in large part because the cause is unknown for about 70% of people who experience heart failure. Researchers have discovered that one of the earliest signs of heart failure is a change in how the heart produces energy, with findings offering a potential way to preempt heart failure before the heart begins to deteriorate. Led by Dr. Paul Delgado-Olguín, the research may help explain the diversity of causes underlying heart failure. "We were surprised to find that dysregulation of energy production was the earliest sign of...

Harvard Medical School (HMS) is focused on protecting health — by putting “climate change” ideology in its M.D. curriculum. Because after fifty years of failed climate doom predictions, as well as recent evidence global warming is a hoax, Harvard is of course following the science… by putting leftist ideology ahead of scientific data. And elites wonder why people don’t trust the medical establishment. The Harvard Crimson reported Feb. 3:”A Harvard Medical School committee voted last month to embed climate change into the school’s curriculum. In a meeting early last month, the HMS Educational Policy and Curriculum Committee voted unanimously to officially add...

Michigan state House Majority Leader Ranjeev Puri issued his official statement on Tuesday morning following the Monday night shooting at the state university. "F--- your thoughts and prayers," Puri started his statement in the wake of three deaths and five injuries in the shooting. "What happened in East Lansing is unfortunately far too common," the Democrat state lawmaker said. "Going to school in America, whether its pre-school or college, means risking your life every day to the threat of a mass shooting." "Yet all we have offered up are empty solutions — traumatizing active shooter drills and bulletproof backpacks," Puri...

Leftism is at war with reality: women are men, men are the first female admirals and champion female swimmers, Old Joe Biden is competent, capable and coherent, drag queens are suitable entertainers for primary school children, and on and on and on. But every war has its casualties, as Leftists are learning these days at Free University in Berlin. A sex offender has been running wild and harassing women there for weeks, but the university has warned the victims not to call the police. The reason why they shouldn’t is as obvious as it is outrageous: the sex offender is...

Australian Federal Police say they were alerted by the Western Australia Police Force on February 1 that three men were rescued from the ocean off the coast of the city of Albany, but their story that their fishing vessel had capsized seemed inconsistent to authorities. A little less than a week later, police say a plastic-wrapped package with packets of cocaine inside washed up on the beach near the town of Denmark on the western coast. Shortly after, an overturned boat was discovered off the coast of Peaceful Bay about 25 miles west of the town of Denmark. Police say...

The Republicans in the House are having an investigation into the collusion of the media, Justice Department, and Intelligence officials as they censored the true story of the Biden family corruption right before the 2020 election. This was pure election interference to mislead the public. Now, Glenn Kessler, the designated fact checker at the WaPo, is claiming that the intelligence officials who lied about Russian disinformation were very careful in their wording of the letter but the media either misinterpreted or misused the letter. That is a load of garbage. The Hunter Biden laptop and claims of ‘Russian disinfo’The letter...

An ancient human foraging instinct, fueled by fructose production in the brain, may hold clues to the development and possible treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD), according to researchers. "We make the case that Alzheimer's disease is driven by diet," said Richard Johnson, MD. Johnson and his team suggest that AD is a harmful adaptation of an evolutionary survival pathway used in animals and our distant ancestors during times of scarcity. When threatened with the possibility of starvation, early humans developed a survival response which sent them foraging for food. Yet foraging is only effective if metabolism is inhibited in various...

Last week, Tucker Carlson had a brief segment about the leaked FBI memo recommending surveillance of traditional Catholics as potential domestic terrorists. The contents of the memo became widely known only because of a fearless FBI whistleblower assigned to the relatively small Richmond, Va. district office. It later became known that the (false) accusation originated from a wing of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) in Norfolk, Va. The FBI immediately walked it back, and the nightly news returned to coverage of the spy balloon skeet shoot, the Super Bowl, and the devastating earthquake in Turkey. I am no Catholic,...

Perhaps the reality of ChatGPT is not that it is a Chatbot running on AI, but a liberal woke database managed by A.I. What exactly does this mean? If singularity is the ultimate goal of all A.I., then by the stated goal, no human interface would be required to produce the code that defines A.I. The A.I. would refresh its code at a rate that we cannot comprehend. This refresh rate would by logic expunge any data that could not be supported by facts that the A.I. would verify by constant learning. The laws of physics, natural laws, and other...

COVID-19 survivors have a 66% higher risk of developing type 1 or type 2 diabetes following their diagnosis compared to those not diagnosed with COVID-19, according to a study. Their findings suggest that people diagnosed with COVID-19 may experience a range of health issues following their illness. According to the researchers, SARS-CoV-2—the virus that causes COVID-19—binds to an enzyme receptor found on the surface of many organs and tissues—including cells found in the pancreas, small intestine and kidneys. Other research teams have found that the virus affects insulin levels and induces the death of pancreatic beta cells, which produce insulin....
