Some say that the outage has been going on for six hours so far without respite Some drivers say they cannot connect to their Powerwall home battery system

Chaos engulfed the electric motoring network as demand appeared to outstrip supply in come areas.

According to data from Zap Map there are currently 6712 rapid and ultra-rapid charging devices, across locations in the UK catering for the 420,000 plus cars.

Members of a Facebook group called 'Tesla Owners Club UK' expressed their frustration at the queues.

One said: 'Someone taking the mick at Tebay? Been here over an hour. Still 15 in front of me in the queue for a charger. Easily another 2 hours to wait - minimum.'

A second added: 'We need more superchargers. I love Tesla, but this country is not up to standards if they want total electricity!'

A third said: 'New Tesla owner and I’m super disappointed with the charging lark. Nobody told me that a winter charge would barely achieve half the performance.

Oops. I own some Tesla stock, looks like they got some work to do. Problem confined to UK apparently.

Complexity adds pain sometimes.

Everything is stored now.
How many telephone numbers do you have memorized now vs when you were 18? (If you are dirt old, then say 50)

How many passwords are saved on your computer or phone?
Can you remember them?

I could work on my muscle car. I have no clue how to fix a Honda Accord from 2019.

“Nobody told me that a winter charge would barely achieve half the performance.”

Bwahahahahahahahaha.

Some lessons can only be learned the hard way.

When Minnesota requires electric cars it is gonna get fun to watch from December to March.

This is only headline news because Musk is no longer a fellow traveler, they gleefully buried similar issues along with self-immolating Teslas pre Twitter.

Always Keep It Simple Stupid. Way back in the day when it came time to rebuild my 1966 cruiser, I had pulled everything apart including every single wire as there were many old worn wires and I even found some old dangling hot wires that didn’t connect to anything (it was a very old desert car with who knows how many previous owners). Anyway, I had never wired a car before so I thought I would get clever and approached it like I would wiring a manufacturing plant and would try to do a few modern tricks and clevernesses. Anyways, as expected, on the very first real desert trip there was complete catastrophic failure as some parts just cannot handle the heat or the dust, or the bumpy or whatever. I was 30 miles from even the nearest dirt road. Luckily, I was carrying plenty of extra wire and I was able to rewire what I needed in the field in about a half hour. When I got home, swallowed my pride and redid it all back in the more traditional way. Though, I did make a little modernization on things not critical to functioning of the car, but anything that actually makes it go can nearly be completely destroyed and the car will still run

Now they know how the Ukraine military feels about their inoperable drones thanks to control freak Musk.

Maybe when he shut down Ukraine it also shutdown Tesla in Europe.

He didn’t shut down Ukraine, it’s still up just as it has been since he gave them access to the satellites. Ukraine wanted to up the weaponization factor for targeting and he refused to go that far.

Yep, my grandpa preferred his horse in ‘25, but he and grandma were excited by ‘28 when they got their first Model A. Grandma said she could tell when it was going really fast because she couldn’t count the fence posts going by. I checked that after she told me, the fence posts hadn’t changed in decades. I lost ability to count them at about 30mph.

It’s been the same throughout history but the acceleration of tech advance is incredibly fast now, and it’s making some humans go crazy.

Technology is neither good or bad, but how it’s used is.(I know you know)
Most available technologies seem to have a deleterious effect on society.
Millions of books and every subject at most of the Earth’s fingertips.
What do we do…talk trash, play games, and watch porn.

I was half joking.

On that I agree. Unfortunately if you give someone an inch, they'll take expect a mile.

Yeah, it’s not the technology, it’s the adjustment to the technology that sends some over the edge. I probably use .1% of a percent of my computer and phone capability.

The problem with comparing the past transition form horses to cars, to today's transition from ICE cars to EV's, is that back then the government didn't force the transition. It's not like the government subsidized Fords or mandated transportation by horse end by X year, or limited access to oats or whatever.

As say that as someone who likes our EV (though we also have an ICE pickup). It should be a free market thing.

The world, and its freedoms, are shrinking.

Technology and globalization are more concerning to me than Iran or North Korea.

Maybe I’ll pull a Henry David Thoreau and spend some years in the woods by a pond.
Kaczynski turned out okay…
