Kyle Seraphin, who was a special agent at the bureau for six years before he was indefinitely suspended without pay in June 2022, published the document, “Interest of Racially or Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremists in Radical Traditionalist Catholic Ideology Almost Certainly Presents New Mitigation Opportunities,” on UncoverDC.com. “In making this assessment, FBI Richmond relied on...

During an interview with “PBS NewsHour” on Wednesday, President Joe Biden responded to Republican plans to use their new majority in the House of Representatives to investigate the Biden family — including his son, Hunter and his brother, Jim — and the accusations made by Republicans that members of the Biden family got access due to the President and his political success by stating that the American public will not “pay attention to that.” Biden also said that if all that the Republicans are able to do with their majority in the House “is make up things about my family,...

A mysterious Russian satellite with a shady mission has broken apart in Earth's orbit, creating a hazardous cloud of debris zipping around the planet and menacing other satellites, US Space Force announced. The 18th Space Defense Squadron said on Twitter Monday that it had confirmed a satellite called Kosmos 2499 had broken apart into 85 pieces. Previous collisions and satellite break-ups have created far larger and more hazardous debris fields than this. But the pieces of Kosmos 2499 are orbiting at an altitude of about 745 miles — so high that they'll probably be there for a century or longer...

Disney's Bob Iger is planning to lay off 7,000 employees in a 'significant transformation' to cut back costs as he eliminates some of his predecessor's efforts. On Wednesday, Iger announced his plans to restructure the company, effectively eliminating the Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution group set up under former CEO Bob Chapek. The new structure, according to the Hollywood Reporter, will have only three divisions, Disney Entertainment — which will include film and TV assets as well as Disney+; ESPN — which will include ESPN and ESPN+; and Parks, Experiences and Products — which will include theme parks and the...

Colgate-Palmolive announced Wednesday it is voluntarily recalling 4.9 million bottles of Fabuloso multipurpose cleaner over concerns about harmful bacteria. According to the company, a manufacturing error meant a preservative was not added "at the intended levels" to eradicate Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Pseudomonas fluorescens, bacteria that can cause serious infections in people with compromised immune systems and other preexisting health conditions. The recall impacts five varieties of scented Fabuloso manufactured between Dec. 14, 2022, and Jan. 23, 2023, including lemon, lavender and spring fresh. Some 3.9 million bottles -- about 80% -- were never released for sale to the public, Fabuloso...

Five Latino members of the Connecticut Legislature co-sponsored a bill last month to ban the word “Latinx” from all state documents. As lawmaker Geraldo Reyes Jr. put it recently, “We don’t really use it, and we find it very offensive.” Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders has also prohibited official use of the term, which the Associated Press characterizes as a “gender-neutral” alternative to Latino. The AP describes Ms. Sanders as “tapping into a debate that’s divided Hispanics along generational lines,” but I‘ve seen no evidence of such a debate here in predominantly Latino Miami-Dade County. Nobody uses Latinx here either....

The city of Sacramento and the county are being sued by two disabled residents who say homeless camps that have taken over wide swaths of Sacramento sidewalks make it impossible for them to navigate the area and imperil their safety. The lawsuit, filed late Tuesday in federal court, seeks class-action status and a court order requiring city and county officials to clear Sacramento sidewalks of camps, tents and debris that have proliferated throughout the area in recent years. “In the past several years, the unsheltered population of Sacramento has increased substantially,” says the suit filed by Sacramento attorney Louis Demas....

Sundance is that quietly salty cuss who prefers to swing the sharp machete alone amid the deep weeds; clearing the path simply for the sake of creating clarity and larger understanding about the topography of the stuff the professional political class would prefer to keep hidden in the weeds. At times, he settles himself atop the bluff, opens his lunchbox and thermos to eat a simple sandwich, shirt sleeves will suffice as a napkin, while looking at the flow coming into the clearing… Amid this era of insufferable pretending, our dear and rebellious non-pretending CTH friend, the Great Lou Dobbs,...

The Islanders will be the latest team to avoid wearing rainbow warmups for Pride Night on Thursday against the Canucks. Unlike the Rangers, who pulled their plans to do so without explanation, the Islanders have never worn rainbow jerseys due to an organizational policy against wearing specialized warmups. The only ones they wear are mandated by the league: Hockey Fights Cancer, Military and St. Patrick’s Day. The Islanders also won’t be using rainbow tape in warmups, another common theme in Pride nights throughout the league.
